Navigating the stockexchange with uncertainties When I look at transcorp, the worst case scenario that comes to mind is the reversal of the sale of power plant-- which was funded by banks—hence the sequel of reversing the sale of these assets would also impact on the banks and bring them to the brink of collapsing. Is Buhari going to be that bizarre in action to take such a risk?--what about this is new found love for Atiku Abubakar? Why are some governors paying Atiku homage?-- Now it seems Atiku was the first person to call for the reversal of the sale. I also like if someone could help provide information surrounding a similar reversal in sale of refinery to Dangote and Zenon oil during the Yaradua’s administraton. This should give us an insight into what might play out in the new dispensation. An extension of my concerns for transcorp extends to FO and all the banks. Another point to look into is how the sale was done: was it along a specific ethic line?..NO; how strong are the oligarchs from the North that benefited from such sale and what power do they or are they likely to wield when it comes to Buhari? When it come to issue regarding further devaluation of naira, history is on our side as investors—GMB stubbornly rebuffed the IMF and other lending institution’s advice on that in 1985, so I believe though economic realities may demand he devaluate, he might reject the advice. The rising oil prices across the globe—though an increasing volume of oil is pumped by the Texas cowboys—should help shore up our foreign reserves with a resultant cushioning for defending the naira. These two factors make evaluation unlikely. |
Michael11stock:Please on what fact or facts is this assumption based. Wale and co sold 111million shares to Alhaji Mangal at #18, made a right offer initially at #22 and adjusted to reality by bringing it down to #16. Maybe some people are privy to information not in public domain, hence, help us sir. |
Pls my laptop Hp250 is currently updating and this has lasted for 6hrs, is everything okay?. Bought it 6days ago. |
kotlass: Honestly, I would prefer that Morgan raise their brokerage fees if it would lead to improved services. The focus has been on the "Product" at the expense of the "Service". And YES, the product is a real deal. Would love to have the Morgan experience. But could it be that the staff are not well renumerated and so have low morale? I have remained a prospective client for about a month now(documentation completed). My patience is waning. They are quick to engage in e-war but won't respond to queries from customers. It is unthinkable that I send an email to a corporate organization and have to wait endlessly for an acknowledgement or response. Is it that their exchange server's got issues? Or the staff have read-only rights??Getting the right people in the right sits is more important than having the wrong people in place in the first instance. You can only motivate the right folks. |
Please house, does anyone knows how COT is charged?, am I paying COT for payments into my current account?.Thanks for anticipated response |
mercylicious: Do u think morgan will meet the increase in capital base as planned by SEC?Use your cash to procure stocks before the set deadline by SEC, so you don't suffer the harrowing experience some folks went through during cashcraft's saga. You can always move your shares to another firm but with a floating cash comes a lot of turanchi. |
Rocice: Pls any idea, wen firstbank wil start payment of dividends??I nid answers ASAP!!Start payment ?, is there any interim dividends? or you're refering to the one that had already been paid since. |
Dexterax: This is simple my oga. A man will express his fear or greed by the size of his bet and his betting patterns. Of course he can also 'create' a false signal with his bet size especially, causing other players to misread situations.Sir, you are an overlord in this game. I salute you ![]() |
Dexterax: I understand your misgivings sir. Consider that you're also playing the investing/speculation game without seeing the other players...only bet sizes. The game played on the exchange is with background or presumed psychology of what traders or investors are likely to do in immediate,3month and up to a year with a particular stock. The poker table helps in mastering swings in emotions which culminate in actions, I don't know if the online game avails you that. Fear plays a great role on the exchange and I think it's something you can exploit in making profit:FBNH post SLS saga was a wonderful experience. |
Dexterax: The Internet also affords you the same gambling scenario with the same risk/reward characteristics. You can buy chips online for as low as $0.99 and start playing real time with many players who are online too. In this case, it's the betting patterns of the other players that you use as your offense/defense indicator, since you can't see them physically.Gambling being an act and not science, I believe it's better learnt by real life experience rather than simulation. Remember Kenny Roger's song "Gambler";you need the ecstasy, fear, eye movement to fully master the act. |
Dexterax: Also notice that these smart guys think and talk about it all in terms of a game. Buffet talks about looking at the entire game and not at the scoreboard. Simmons implements the mathematics of gambling in his strategies. Tony Elumelu even used the term "cowboy" (who routinely engage in duels) on a Bloomberg interview the other day.Federal palace hotel on my mind, I still have a lot to learn at the poker table, I heard they have a world class casino there. ![]() |
Dexterax: Knowledge has never been enough. The smartest investors acknowledge that this is all a game. And so they play it as such, obtaining exponential results in the process.Sir, that was spot on.Amazingly, it's those coys that make "investors" cry, that produce exponential results as it were for smart "traders" ![]() |
Born2berich: Correction noted but Traders are still investors na (aka short term investorsSir, as much as trading can get your fingers burnt beyond recognition(CHAMS,INTEGENINS,WAPIC are part of my experience), so also can make you win big(OANDO,MRS,CONOIL,FBNH during SLS saga). Sometimes you compare your 10 years yield on regular trading and it beats 10years yield on so called "long term investment";not minding the risk of a coy you're invested in being delisted, bottle necks encountered in claiming rights, dividends and bonuses. You spend so much time reading management's structure, market share, looking forward statements but at the end you still get played. |
