I am watching the political "chess game" currently playing out in Nigeria, and one thing is clear: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is playing the game by the rules the North used for decades. For those with short memories, let’s look back at 2015. We saw how a Southern President, Goodluck Jonathan, was systematically humiliated and dismantled. The very people now crying "persecution"—the likes of Kwankwaso and El-Rufai—were the architects of that collapse. They used the "Change" slogan to deceive Nigerians, only to deliver eight years of hardship. The Buhari Precedent Despite the "rubbish" we saw during the Buhari years, did the North abandon him? No. They stood solidly behind their own for a full 8-year term. They understood that power is not just about "performance" in the eyes of critics; it is about regional equity and holding the seat. The Lesson for the South I would be the "greatest fool" to support any Northern move or deal to remove Tinubu before his time is up. We cannot allow the South to be used as a footstool for other people’s ambitions. If Buhari could get 8 years despite the "deception" of his era, why should a Southern presidency be cut short? The Tinubu Masterclass I like the way the President is dealing with the likes of El-Rufai and Malami. For years, these men acted like untouchable kingmakers. Today, the tables have turned. • Kwankwaso thinks he still has his old power, but he is learning a bitter political lesson. This time, there will be no "Supreme Court visits" to save the day. • Wike and Tinubu have formed a partnership that has effectively neutralized the old "cabal." By keeping the FCT and the political machinery tight, they are ensuring that the Southern Mandate is protected. The Bottom Line The North protected Buhari for 8 years. The South must do the same for Tinubu. We must not be deceived by those who dealt with Jonathan and are now trying to play the same trick again. Tinubu is not Jonathan—he knows the game, and he is playing it to win. The Southern Presidency is non-negotiable until 2031. Let everyone learn their lesson! 🇳🇬 #NigeriaPolitics #Tinubu #SouthernMandate #RenewedHope #PoliticalRealism #Wike #2027StrategicWatch |
I like this game…..being played here. Kwakwaso think he still has power…..Wike and Tinubu will teach him a greater political lesson….and this time Kwakwaso will not see Supreme Court justices to visit and bribe…..Kwakwaso was given opportunity yet he missed it…….Tinubu is not Jonathan….. These are the people that dealt with a Southern president Jonathan…. I will be a greatest fool to support any northern or deal with any northern to remove Tinubu….. With all the rubbish Buhari did….. and deceived Nigerians with the change slogan…. I like the way Tinubu is dealing with El rufia and Malami. |

As much as I’d like to hold Obi responsible for the presently manifest outcome of the last election which is still unfolding, the multidimensional and evidential thinker in me simply cannot agree with that conclusion and I think some people are only seeing it in one way. Two things can sometimes be true and in this case, they are that yes, Obi split the opposition votes and yes, Bola Tinubu rigged the election heavily, especially in the North, and directly against Atiku. The evidence is very strong in the second regard: 11 states were strongly manipulated to give Tinubu a foothold and weaken Atiku. We know what we saw in the North ahead of the election but this outcome plays strongly into the second best option of some Northerners: a Muslim/Muslim presidency, hence the silence. The APC Governors played a strong role also in the manipulations that happened. The easier pathway to victory for Atiku would have been a United opposition ticket, this is the first dimension and in that regard, Obi in the race, weakened Atiku. The second dimension can however not be ignored: the North had a stake and the North went all out on that stake but Bola Tinubu by political deals, induced the APC Governors in the North to enforce rigging. Kano for instance did not give Kwankwaso the alleged votes recorded for him by INEC: his candidacy was not strong enough even in the state and his alleged voters are not zombies - Atiku won more votes there than were recorded by INEC. Even in Borno State, Atiku was way ahead. I know it may look convenient for now to hold Obi responsible and I agree his absence from that contest would have been the easier path to victory for PDP but was there a pathway around the hurdle that he constituted? Yes, there was. And we saw it: in a contest of SE vs SW vs North, there could only be one outcome. So what happened to that pathway? Tinubu rigged it. Simple. This then is also part of his gameplay: this “Atiku lost because Obi was in the race” - it’s part of it. Obi did not take one vote from Atiku in the North, even Kwankwaso could not - the North was clear on its direction, and pressure was applied behind the scene. The APC Governors however negotiated their pathway differently with Tinubu and allowed the margins to be closed up by manipulation. It was to Tinubu’s benefit that Obi should be in play - it served the narrative to cover his rigging efforts. It was to Tinubu’s benefit to appear weak and promote the idea that a Tinubu Presidency could become a Shettima Presidency. Tinubu’s strongest play was however to rig the election and he did. Obi was merely used as a cover pawn to hide the real game plan. In any case, until all evidence is brought forward and examined at the Presidential Election Petitions Court, I think any analysis now is being done in a vacuum of incomplete knowledge of things that happened in the places of power; an eagerness to disparage Obi’s populist wave and perhaps also to reinforce Tinubu’s genius which at best, was a crude and evil one. The debt that he now owes for that assumed genius is restricted not only to APC Governors but one in PDP who bankrolled the compromise of the electoral umpire. This analysis however prompts a question of why some of us backed Atiku despite what we saw as an ethnic contest and the answer is in the man himself and his nationalist disposition. Between a Bola Tinubu of the same ethnicity but likely held hostage by a Northern cabal and an Atiku of Northern roots but nationalist disposition - the choice was a no-brainer. Obi was at worst a footnote in that election; or at best, a convenient pawn in Tinubu’s gameplay. We’ll have time enough in the future to dissect these things. Written By Ademola Olarewaju |

By Olasunkanmi Akoni Lagos State Government has set up a committee to oversee the affairs of all motor parks and garages across state as part of measures to restore sanity within the union and prevent possible chaos in Lagos. This followed lingering leadership crisis between the National body of National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, and its Lagos council, led by Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly called MC Oluomo, whose leadership has been dissolved by the national body. Meanwhile, the state Commissoner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, in a statement in the early hours on Thursday, announced the setting up of the park management committee. Omotoso, explain that the measure was in fulfillment of the Glstste government’s promise to ensure that events in the NURTW were not allowed to threaten law and order. “The Government has, therefore, exercised its constitutional powers to ensure that no vacuum, which can disrupt the peace of our dear State, is allowed to exist in the parks. “This is a duty we owe all Lagosians and visitors,” the commissoner stated. Therefore, members of the committee, who have been selected following consultations with stakeholders in the sector, are: Mr. Hakeem Odumosu (AIG Rtd) – Government Liaison Officer, Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya – Chairman, Sulyman B. Ojora, deputy Chairman,D Dr Taiwo Olufemi Salaam as Secretary. Others are: Comrade Olayiwola Lemboye, Mustapha Adekunle, Ganiyu Shittu, Mukaila Runsewe, Sulyman Yusuf, Mufutau Mutiu, Yinka Hassan, Sunday Ogunleye, Moshood OmojowaI, IsmailaAigoro, Ibrahim Yusuf. O Others are: Akeem Tijani, Mrs. Omolabake Adelakun, comrade Kazeem Hassan, Wasiu Amole, GaniyuAyinde, Anthony Adeboye, John Owolabi, Saburi Salami, Ibrahim Onitiju and Odusanya Gbenga. It was gathered that members of the committee have been contacted and directed to report to the Ministry of Transportation, Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja today for further briefing. Recall, that the state government on March 10 suspended NURTW operations in all parks and garages, following the tension sparked by some events in the union. |
You must not run— when you run, the dog sees you as prey, it will chase you and it will catch you. Grab something—Pick up a stick or anything and be ready to fight back ***** I came across these pictures a few days ago. The first picture was a picture of a 22-years old model whose lips were ripped off by a Pitbull. She spent $400,000 in surgery that helped restore her smile. The second picture was the picture of Jacqueline Durand who was mercilessly attacked by two dogs. Please share your tip on how to deal with dogs’ confrontations. Seun Lala
