The subject point of this write up fantasize about sharing ideas no matter how rediculous or crazy it gets. The aim remains on how well to enhance our country's security architecture. I mean, The say see something, say something, security is generally a collective responsibility . As real as it gets, If the mess we are in doesn't wake every right thinking Nigerian up, I bet nothing will.
Just a glimpse of it;imagine a relative of yours kidnapped without a trace - and for each flying moment you'd think of him or her under the harsh atmospheric condition or environment the find themselves. Mind blogging question such as-about how do the cope under this Weather races frequently in your mind.
I'm not a medical scientist but I know the difference between a communicable dieases and non communicable one. Using the former, we as Nigerians are not immune to this forces of darkness who go about pillaging, raping, kidnapping, murdering and extoring us. Such a harsh side of reality.
Permit me, under the umbrella of this theme, to suggest that we proffer solutions or policy recommendations to these menace to society affecting us.

Come with me, as i have an idea as such; which is subject to criticism, reconstruction and improvements. I suggest we have digital mapping of all our forest reserves and geographical boundaries with a propelled digital satellite up in space feeding us infos about clustered movements and suspicious movement or settlements. its purpose is to serve as an all seeing eye. further I suggest  we invest on predictive policing, teach our security outfits on  how to make use of data I mean using of data to predict the next event. Lately, I found out that there's a repetitive occurrence in environment where kidnappings and banditry has happened before.
To  pinpoint further, it's not a hidden, the country is been invaded by external savages from other nationalities , who spread across in groups from the north to the south hiding deep into our forest. Information is power the say, in my imaginative thinking why can't we built a structure to tap in  from whatever wave length frequency the use in communicating to their other contemporaries. I mean we should develop a technology which can intercept, track and even disclose locations of adversaries;even if it's a walkie talkie just to send the next UAV to dislodge them.
Sorry,these writings are just words of my imagination. Therefore, in my limitations, I need all the academians, security analyst, economist, social scientist,political actors to contribute a well meaningful solution each from his own respective point of view. On how we could solve this ugly situation. Kindly assist to push to the front page. Please can we do a little with the blame games? let's focus on pragmatic ideas.

Honest question. Why do people blame El Rufai for the killings in Southern Kaduna?

They felt betrayed. To be honest southern kaduna barely knows politics on another angle, all the needed was a unifier which Elrufai fell short off.
Secondly, the presence of religious mix played an impact, I can categorically tell you, many Christians in kaduna don't like him, he never got down to their level. He should have gotten lectures from MAKARFI OR late Yakowa.

But hands down Elrufai is a body of intellect but atimes the wrong way. I guess no one is perfect.

I believe now that Abacha was either fully or partly behind the annulment of June 12. Fir various reasons I will list now.

1, When IBB handed over power to an interim government. Abiola was still fighting for his mandate, He never accepted the annulment.. Ibb did nothing to abiola cos they were actually friends.

2. It was Abacha who after forcing Sonekan who was interim president to step aside in a peaceful coup that now ordered arrest of Abiola, IBB was no longer in power nor interested in power. Abacha could have fixed the problem since he was in power since he knew everything about it but choose to show he was either the mastermind or partly involved and went further to finish the job cos he was power hungry.

3. Abacha wanted power and would definitely not let abiola have it. IBB was indifferent but went along with the strongest influence j(ust like buhari did in 2023 elections) and let Abacha have his way or go with his idea.

4. IBB despite being president at the time cannot act alone on a decision of such magnitude. He consulted with people. Who were they? Abacha was one of them surely.

5. If IBB was evil, Abacha was evil pro max.

I think you are mistaking self accountability for blame. I am simply stating that the Nigeria state is not simply run by disorganised and corrupt leaders but it is also undergirded by an entitled and passive citizens. If you look at street language - do you see anything concerning hard work and sacrifice? A country is an equation of government and citizenship and often the citizen gets the government they deserve.

Unlike you I am at my most optimistic at the moment. As a child of the 60's I have seen governments come and go but this is the first time i have seen a government willing to take hard choices and unpopularity. What are the key indices? More money available to the states, LG autonomy, drastic fall in imports, restructure of corporate ownership from low risk, high flight risk MNC's to global south and indigenous ownership, deliberate efforts to increase oil production with tangible results, Gulf of Guinea once a haven for pirates is now the safest route for maritime trade ( down to falcon eye domain awareness IT), insurgency down, currency high but stable with little room for arbitrage. The last elephant in the room is inflation and that needs to be balanced with growth.

I like what I see. But I insist that even with this, the citizen must not enter into that faustian pact with government based on " well i am alright" We must continue to ask questions.

As you can tell i hate subsidies unless they are time bound and with quantifiable gains. Subsidies create arbitrage, they discourage investment ( check the rig count in January last year to current day) and they are a tax on the future. My wife runs schools and we have seen those that offer subsidies instead of creating visible value close down one by one.

We are poor at value creation and service. Our situation would be ameliorated by simple service culture irrespective of class. People feel devalued by our vicious social systems. They "need" vast amount of money to feel valued and this is a citizenship issue.

I try to avoid polarity by not seeing things as a single issue and this is why I continue to insist on balancing the Govt - civil society equation.

I have been fortunate to access the highest levels of government and I can confidently say flawed citizens do not transmute into great leaders simply by the accoutrements of power.
