Our government should try to support and protect its own but ofcourse they prefer to be courted by foreign companies, receiving bribes while the company is making a killing off us and taking our money to their own countries. then why don't local companies bribe them too |

prof1990: i really wish we can have the government support this companies so we can reduce the monopoly that Dstv has. The govt should support home businesses imagine how much Dstv makes from Nigerians every year and take back to their country. We really need to reduce or if possible place a 2year ban on importation and encourage internal production. But this can only be achieved if we put aside politics, religion, tribe and any form of divisiveness and SELFISHNESS and also block every avenue where funds can be mismanaged or embezzled. must you watch dstv You can never put aside politics religion or tribe Hate the game not the player |

omolola15: Na God go punish multichoice and NBC. Corruption killed Hitv because I'm sure multichoice bribed them to rule in their favor.
My Hitv dish and strong decoder just waste like that. The EPL was the main market. And multichoice did all they could to block them from getting it. I'm sure they might even be the ones that blocked the bank from giving them the money on Tuesday. Hitv was willing to share but dstv refused to. Such is life.
Our Nigerian government killed our Nigerian company. What is stopping the ministry of information from investing in the company. Probably there's no one to bribe them. Useless set of people.
I just wish there can be another indigenous company that can rival those useless multichoice. So they can stop collecting my 14k per month. no be una give them the moni to bribe the gwament |

banmee: The cool thing about the jacked up way Nigerians do business is it is always a case study of how things should not be done. There is no ideology when it comes to the values and political leanings of the average Nigerian. Well, sort of. Their values is often dictated by money and who can provide it. When you go to England, their citizens either belong to the Labour party, because they believe in the rights and power of the average worker, the conservative party, because of their belief in the old school values, or the Liberal party, which believes in changing with the modern times. In the U.S, you have the Democrats, who are very liberal and believe so much in individual expression and personal freedom while you have the Republicans who prefer the old school christian values and the right to bear arms. In these countries, the way you think will determine which party you fall under. If you ask an average Nigerian which party he belongs to, he'll either tell you, PDP or APC. If you ask him why, he most likely will say it is the party that will see the country to Eldorado. If you then ask what values the party holds or stands for, you'll get the deer in a headlights look. They have no clue. No one knows the values or the political leanings of either parties. The only thing holding these politicians together in both parties is the quest for wealth which is why you have politicians "decamping" at will. In America, it is political suicide for a Republican to "decamp" to the democratic party and vice versa. That politician will never be trusted ever again. What Nigerians don't understand is, until we start to define the values that each political parties has or stands for in this country we will never move forward politically. We'll continue going round in circles. You cannot just support or join a party because of an individual. You have to know if the way you are thinking is the same way the person you are supporting, or party is thinking. Promises don't mean squat when both of you are not on the same page. I hope for Nigeria's sake it's citizens wake up from this mental slumber they all seem to be in since independence.

It is just like chosing the sex of your baby, you should know that you stand a higher chance in getting the sex you want through artificial insemination/sperm sorting than through normal sexual encounter.
BTW, please is the genes of the crop through natural process not modified? our point exactly They are making sure that it will give you cancer et al so you will be dependent upon them for drugs not to talk of terminator technology so you always buy sees from them. Predictable for them not for you |

pgiddy: I so much agree with your number 4. Lots of Americans are illiterate when it comes to geography. Ask an average American student to name 7 countries in Africa, only a very few will be able to after thinking for several minutes. Some of them even think that Africa is just one country. And when you tell them that 'hey I am from Nigeria, they say, wow that's good I met someone from Kenya yesterday'. Kenya, Nigeria, wetin join them together.
But one thing I like about the student is that they are always excited to see people from other countries, they want to ask you several 'questions'. One more thing is that do not always jam talk about issues when discussing with an American student. Be careful when you speak against issues like gay, lesbianism, Religion. Always try to know the person's view before you talk.
You don't know if the person you are talking with is a gay or he smokes and you just open mouth dey talk against guys and smokers. what do they need your geography for. You're the ones looking for visa. They know where their vacation destinations are. That's all they need |
