Wrong! I thought I was having a constructive debate with someone else about why the status quo was unacceptable. I rebutted his own arguements while suggesting a better alternative.

Its not as if i am just expecting naija legislators to adopt them, its just a debate and with any good debate the opposition has to offer a different suggestion in there counterargument. Just shooting down someone's argument is not good enough anyone can do that you have to take it a step further and offer your own.

In Nigeria, HRM sees interview as war. They ll do everything to get you off balance. Even if you outsmart them with your level of preparedness and confidence, they'll create new rules to ensure you don't get the job. The most annoying part is when they have to invite 100 candidates for a single position, regardless of the effort you put, luck might not just smile at you. That doesn't mean you performed woefully. No, it the system.

CONNECTION
In a bid to secure a high paying job in multinational companies and government parastatals, you have to have some sort of connections. It is very painful to see yourself go through series of test, assessment Centre, group discussions only for you to meet entirely different faces during the interview. That only is enough to demoralize you. Believe me, it only in Nigeria you ll see graduates of Medicine, Engineering and law teaching and hawking GNLD Products. That's not because they lack the Zeal to compete in challenging environment but rather the available slot In high profile job have been hijacked through who-know-who mechanism. You attend an interview and a regret mail follows, never get dejected, someone at the top want that slot for someone else.


RECRUITMENT PROCESS
Regardless of how superb your performance is in a job interview, if a success mail doesn't follow, friends and family see you as failure. The recruitment process in Nigerian companies is very annoying. The common cliche at the end of every job interview in Nigeria has always been " we will get back to you" this keep most graduate in suspense. You don't hear from them doesn't mean you didn't perform. Believe me, a lot must have happened during this period. Take for instance, you were the preferred candidate but along the line " connection" factor played out or the company tend to put the recruitment process on hold.

YOUR VILLAGE PEOPLE
Regardless of how much effort you put up during job interview if forces from your village follow you enter the interview venue, You will talk everything in your mouth and still not get hired. That doesn't mean you are bad. No, far from it..

Bros this guy is just a consultant according to him, he is not a practicing garri producer and I know the that the prices of things have gone up recently but let's think of it, all the garri in the market all-over Nigeria do you think that their buyers do ask if they were made with stainless materials or who cares if they were made with first class lister engine? All am saying is that setting up a garri factory doesn't need a state of the art machineries, what you need is to get you factory premises clean and start production, what makes you think that even if you use 3 million naira to set up a garri factory that it will make your garri better off compared to the locally produced ones or make you sell more. You don't need nafdac registration number for garri and your best market is not the super markets but local buyers that buys in 50kg bags and supply to major markets, so I will advice everyone interested in this factory to forget about this garriguy idea because I know you don't need a consultant who wants you to use millions of Naira to setup a garri factory, producing garri is one of the cheapest things to start up in Nigeria for now, you just need to grow your farm and it's done, forget about him saying you buy cassava to produce garri, whoever tries that has him or herself to blame because you will heavily run at a loss, i know this because I am a practicing garri producer and not one white collar garri factory consultant, whoever wants to use millions of Naira for a garri factory is free to do just that, but believe me it will be a foolish investment

Why are people saying the pay is ok. Or is it only me here that has a contrary opinion, the lowest rank there, corporal, can his salary cater for 3 children nd a wife for a whole month, and some saying allowance, only if you're placed in a well meaning department.

Prior to the economic crisis in the country now, i would say the pay is meagre, forget about the 100 they are collecting on the road, they have to Feed now although some policemen are useless

1. You have to write a constitution that reflects your society. who is the ''you '' that will rewrite the constitution
2. The Governor needs to be accountable to his constituents and that means not being protected from criminal charges (not civil lawsuits). who will hold these ones accountable

3. The Attorney generals and state judges should be elected by the people just like the Governor is. This is how things work in a lot advanced democracies. you go'n to change the rules boss?
4. There should also be a provision in each states constitution that allows for a governor to be recalled (a mandate for a new election) If the people don't have confidence in him like they do in California.

For me, I believe it's a waste of money and time!!

The current form academics is for those with the biggest memory space in their heads not those who actually want to be practical with what they learnt in school.

Imagine having only 12 courses in Economics and being forced by the University's rule to take 30 other different courses. It's all about the money not about education anymore.

I could have finished studying economics in 1 year but because schools want more money, you are forced to stay in school for 3 extra years of electives. Ain't that some shiit?

Many of the "mechanical" engineers have no dream of nursing a mechanical project that will justify their interest in studying mechanical engineering. Many mechanical engineers don't know shiit about motor engines than the 17 years old road side mechanic's son who is an apprentice in his dad's shop. That says alot about going to pay millions for some theory oriented academia.
