All criminals will either stay away or come in2 one's house with fear. Lastly, they won't just do anyhow and getaway with it. They will pay with their lives.
But the disadvantage is that violence will increase. Someone can kill another for a mere 10 naira argument.

[color=#174012]Even in America, it's not legalized to everyone. When some are caught, they will be asked what's the purpose of you having it? If you can't vindicate yourself well, you would be jailed.

Before they would legalize it, they needs to do mental checkup for people, because not everybody are mentally stable.

If you are that person that can't control your temper before taking devastating reactions, definitely, the rate of murdering would increase in Nigeria.

Many people don’t seem to realize the benefit of legalizing guns in Nigeria. They think of the disadvantages alone, not the advantages. Why are we narrow-mindedly opinionated about this issue?

1. Men go into a house to rape a defenseless girl. Would they try that if they knew she’s armed with a gun? Rapists want to rape and live, not to rape and die.

2. Many aged parents still cry days and nights, while their broken souls plead for vengeance. Their innocent children were killed in Jos and elsewhere while they were serving their fatherland.

3. In Nigeria, most criminals want to do bad things to people and go scot-free. If they knew people had guns as well, they would think twice.

4. I must be blunt, what gives most criminals the gut to attack people is because people are defenseless. If 20 assassins go to a man’s house, they’ll kill him. But the man can kill up to 3 of them before he dies. This is better than when the man is killed without being able to kill anyone in return.

5. One-Chance, terrorists, herdsmen, militants, money ritualists, armed robbers, thugs, bullies, etc., are able to go away unscathed in most cases because their victims don’t have guns. To be frank, those who attack you have power over you only because they’re armed and you’re not.

6. If most members communities have guns in their hands, do you think armed robbers would like to go to their lion’s den to molest them?

7. Militants that terrorize communities would be afraid to do so; unless they’re going on suicide missions. The same is true of mad Jihadists. No mad or rabid dog would deliberately run into a burning fire.

8. Domestic violence would cease…. A corrupt cop would cease pointing their gun to a poor and helpless okada rider because of N100.

9. Lazy thugs that collect money they don’t work for would think twice before they start cursing or threatening their victims, ordering for money they don’t work for.

10. It’s true, many people would die. But the remaining people alive would sit right. They would show respect for one another. Politeness would prevail and crimes would be reduced to almost zero. Isn’t there any sense in this?

P.S Seun please tell your mods to move this to the front page.

In the words of The great economist , late Professor Sam Aluko "Any economic growth without appropriate infrastructure for sustainability is a recipe for disaster".. The late sage made this statement in the year 2008 while I was in the University and now fellow Nigerians, this statement has not only come true but stayed put in our faces. Let us first of all declare a state of emergency on all infrastructures and go on an aggressive and massive infrastructural revolution. This is the only responsibility of government.Electricity, Transportation, Dams and Water Basins Development, etc... These are what will effectively fight recession and not a Yo-yo forex policy. Until these are done, the government will only try to ban, ban and ban without any appreciable local availability. A very good example is the ban on Rice importation. We have only seen pictures of the locally produced rice we're yet to see the rice in the market

Obasanjo tried banning imported goods but it never worked.
Reasons:
1) Weak dollar subsidy system:- people kept circumventing the dollar restriction and went outside to the very goods that where banned e.g toothpick.
2) Porour borders:- smuggler saw banned items as hot cake. It favoured them as the borders where poorly manned.
3) Custom :- officials are corrupt and do collude with.
We need a more thorough overhaul.

Naimolawale:
California is the 6th largest economy in the world. It's economy is larger than that of France or Brazil. The little problem is that California is not a country. It is a State in the United States of America. It has little offshore oil, yet its economy is larger than States in the US that are famous for their oil reserves, like Texas. California generates much of its revenue from non-oil products. It found a way to absorb and domesticate much of the intellectual output from its premier university, Stanford University, into saleable products within its economy.

As a matter of fact, much of California's economy is built around Stanford University. So with this, Silicon valley developed. I'm sure you've heard of Silicon Valley at least once in your life. Now with Silicon Valley came companies like Apple, eBay, Cisco, Lockheed, Hewlett Packard (HP), Google, Netflix, Facebook, Oracle, Tesla...and the list goes on and on ad infinitum. These are multibillion-dollar companies. The yearly budget of any one of these companies might be larger than the entire yearly budget of, say for example, Akwa Ibom State. I'm taking about companies that are richer than countries. They are all in California. But that is just in the technology industry where the technologies and inventions spewing out of Stanford are caught midair and converted to money spinning enterprises.

But there is also the entertainment industry in California. Yes, Hollywood is in California. The US movies industry contributes about $504Billion to USA's GDP. Hollywood, as you know, contributes over 70% of that figure. Most iconic movie studios are in Hollywood. As a matter of fact, the "Big Eight" consisting of 20th Century Fox, Columbia Pictures, MGM (Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer), Paramount Pictures, RKO Radio Pictures, United Artists, Universal Studios and Warner Bros are, or were, all in Hollywood. These again, are multi-billion dollar companies generating revenue for California.

Despite the above, California also thrives on agriculture. As at 2014, California had nothing less than 77,000 farms and ranches raking in about $55Billion in revenue yearly. It produces over 400 agricultural commodities, a large chunk of which it exports. It is the leader in producing exotic fruits in America. Its wine industry is unique. California wine is drunk with relish the world over. I used to drink some too.

This is just one State in America. You see, California actually had a choice of sitting back and striving to get a piece of the revenue generated from Texas' oil. It could have depended solely on Federal allocation to survive so that every month end, it will send its Commissioner of Finance to Washington DC to receive monthly allocation so that it can barely pay salaries of its workers and nothing more. Then San Francisco would resemble Ajegunle in Lagos. And there certainly would not be those beautiful sights and sounds that make California what it is today. But No, not California. Not America. California gives to the center and, because of its wealth, despises the idea of depending on it for survival. The Federal Government actually needs California to survive, not the other way round.

You see, America is structured in such a way that States must look inwards to exploit their wealth for the good of its citizens. There is no free lunch for the lazy States. There certainly is no commonwealth. But there is your wealth, if you can create it. Under American Federalism, you are the captain of your ship. But again, you are also the waves upon which the ship will sail. That is America. The local government, the government closest to the grassroot, is deliberately made the strongest level of government. Items like Variances (adaptation of state law to local conditions,) Public works (yes, public works!!), Contracts for public works, Licensing of public accommodations, Assessable improvements, Basic public services are all left for local county governments to handle. The State handles weightier m

It's a two way thing ... I think for us to ban something, what internal structures have we put in place to replace what we've banned ? what is wrong with your hand or brain structures
What effort are we making to prevent widespread suffering and avoidable scarcity ?
you should ask yourself this question The government should have built up local industries and invest heavily in getting the local ones off the ground and gradually wean us off dependence on outside goods or imports But out here, we love to ban, but no organized internal action to prevent the shocks of banning and also start production on a national scale to cover up. what is stopping you from building local industry
Our leaders feel that banning would solve the problem , or leaving the economy on auto pilot , or that entrepreneurs would create something is going to fundamentally solve the problem . ... This is what's called "laissez faire".
it's called the invisible hand
Look it up

For example (just making this up) : We've been importing 70% of our rice ... We decided to ban imports of rice ... 30% can't cover the country, scarcity begins, smugglers and other profiteers take advantage of the situation , life gets unbearable for the masses. And we keep struggling and complaining while rice price skyrockets.. Now picture this... We import 70% of our rice, Govt has plans to ban rice imports, it organizes rice growers all over Nigeria , figures out a way of supplying them machinery and needed tools for production , govt takes charge of buying all the rice from them, gets the data and compares it to import ratio & all.. Them with this , govt can start to measure what percentage it would ban while increasing rice productivity . In such a way that transition won't cause shocks in internal rice price .. And with time since production and consumption is local , it'll be very cheap.. & we are well fed .. Actions must be planned. When farmers know there is a national govt that is going to buy the harvest, then it's green light all d way ... Wetin happen wen obj do all the above for poultry and cassava
Ask the farmers they will tell you better
As a nation We can't just be banning stuff without plans or using our mouth to "diversify to agriculture" Without putting in actions and creating a value chain........... by sunki

Did oil price not grow from $16pb in 1999 up to $100pb in 2014?

How can there be a recession when generated income was increasing?

But with oil price slumping from $100pb in mid 2014 to $50 in early 2015, was the PDP government not borrowing to pay salaries?

What you have now is a continuation of that downward slope. A slope that is lubricated by the absence of funds that should have been saved from unprecedented high crude oil prices from 2010 to 2014.

Tell us what happened to the funds already saved, even if the last government was too irresponsible to build on it?

AgricultureRe: Cost Analysis For a 10 Hectares of Cocoa, Watermelon and Plantain Plantation by mikolo80: 5:38am On Sep 03, 2016
Ade3000yrs:
Capital Expenditure and Cost Analysis For Plantain Plantation of 10,040 Hybrid Suckers on a 10 Hectares of Land In Nigeria.

Considering an ideal spacing capacity of 1004 Suckers of plantain on an hectare. This cost analysis is focused on 10 Hectares.
Given: An hectare to be = 2½ Acres,
and an Acre to be = 6 plots of standard 60ft X 120ft; and an hectare = 15 plots. Therefore 15 plots X 10 Hectares = 150 plots.
therefore, 10 Hectares = 25 Acres = 150 plots.
Here is the total expenditure and cost breakdown.
1. Land: #1.5 million naira at #150,000 Naira per hectare.
2. Land Preparation: #250,000 Naira
3. Hybrid Suckers of IITA standard (10,040): #1,004,000 Naira at #100 per sucker.
4. Planting: #100,000 Naira.
5. Herbicides: #250,000 Naira.
6. Employment of farm hands: #240,000 Naira,
7. Procurement of
fertilizers: #100,000 Naira.
8. Miscellaneous Expenses, T fare, farm tools & Wheel barrow: #100,000 Naira
9. Pre investment expenses: #100,000 Naira
10. Borehole or Irrigation: #500,000 Naira.
Total expenses if the Land were bought= #4,044,000 million.
RETURN ON INVESTMENT:
If its on a rented land at the cost of #50,000 naira for 10 hectares per year, it would be= #2,594,000 Naira. Considering that plantain fruits every 3 to 4 months, you can harvest at least 3 times a year from a tree. if a stick is sold at #800 Naira, then 10,040 x 800= #8,032,000 x 3 = #24,096,000 Naira.
therefore, Return on investment = #24,096,000 - #4,044,000 = #20,052,000 annually. Alternatively, if a stick is sold at #500 Naira, then 10,040 suckers x 500 sticks= #5,020,000 x 3 = #15,060,000 Naira
therefore, Return on Investment = #15,060,000 - #4,044,000 = #11,016,000 Naira.
Am sure there will be criticism, but all your points and criticisms are very much welcomed perhaps am spoiling the business for some wolves because I did not put #1,000,000 or #500,000 naira for consultation as some wolves in Nigeria will do only for their stomach and pocket.
You may sell your suckers for #200 naira if you chose to and I may sell for #80 naira if I chose to.

It doesn't matter weather u disclose ur identity here or not, but I must tell my antagonist that "No man is above the law" as long as you use a mobile phone you can be tracked down by the law enforcement agencies. Be wise and constructive in your speech and criticism. If you want forgiveness, go to the Church or wait till you get to heaven.
