"Has God reveled himself to you personally? Many people have made such claims to me but when I ask them about specifics, I always get confusing answers some get testy and insist that I just accept their assertions without any meaningful explanation. Without meaning to be unkind in my words (and pls forgive me if this comes across that way), I dare say, your confusion will linger for quite a while yet, unless you change your pattern of reasoning! You need to be truly sincere with YOURSELF. You need to ask yourself: "what do I really want to do with my life?" That is because this IS about your life, not other Nairalanders', and MOST CERTAINLY, not about GOD's!


Right now, you seem to me like a man who wants to drive a nail into a board. He is given a nice, sturdy hammer. Fine good piece of professional craftmanship. But he looks at it and asks: "why use a hammer?" Why use THIS hammer?" What if it breaks at the first strike on the nail?" "Why wasn't I given a screwdriver?" "That could screw in the nail with scientific accuracy and minimal force" "Or maybe I should try a spanner". "Or maybe an electric staple gun" "or maybe even this or that or, or , or , , " The list goes on and his confusion becomes dumbfoundedness.

That pretty much describes your situation right now, unless ofcourse the motive for your question was merely to draw attention to yourself, and not to find lasting, satisfying meaning in life. Which one is it, really? Only you can answer that correctly and conscientiously (you definitely sound like you have a good conscience).

In a nutshell, you have been given reasons to believe God exists even before you came on this forum, but you just could not see them: You have observed nature and rather than perceive Godship, you sought to see a Spirit Force.

You have observed mankind. Rather than see conclusive proof of a singular Source of an elevated moral code that is innate in the vastly identical yearnings of people worldwide for identity, fairness, equity and justice (even in the lawless wilds), you seek an alternative to the "God Explanation", as you put it.

Therefore, I ask you again: what do you seek?

If you want to see the Supreme Spirit Being with your eyes, try becoming a spirit being first!
And if you can not accept the existence of spirit creatures, how can you hope to see evidence of one at work? will your skepticism allow you to recognize such evidence?

If you seek to understand the reason for your existence on earth (as well as the answer to the question: What Is The Purpose Of Life?) then change your attitude:

Stop groping for alternative tools for a simple task while despising the right tool in your hand (perhaps because to you, the tool in your hand is too simple, humble or ordinary) 

Keep in mind that the greatest truths are the simplest.

Why waste your energy with those who promise answers while they themselves are in the dark concerning creation? They declare there is no Creator, and yet they can not account for the existence of the creation around them.

They denounce the explanations of Godship and origin of life on earth as subjective rather than objective, whereas they are forever SUBJECTED to their whimsical selfish and self-indulgent desires, for which they are struggling to be unaccountable, while at the same time enslaved to some form of the disjointed and dysfunctional evolution hypotheses! Which one of them have successfully re-created the so-called "primitive atmosphere" under which amino acids could be synthesized even in a laboratory environment? And how long did the few, incomplete acid molecules thus synthesized last? Or where is the end to their search for the "missing link" in their ape man hypothesis, if not in the realm of doctored lab sculpturings and "scientific" reports? Where is the promised accuracy of the Carbon dating methods they have been touting for decades, when the age of fossils are constantly been reviewed back and forth? And yet they present bogus figures for the age of man on the planet, pointing to isolated, un-associated  even unidentifiable fragments of bones as the early origins of man on earth!
   
And the audacity they have to teach all such conjectures as facts in colleges, predisposing credulous pupils to view the  sound scriptural explanation of creation with suspicion and bias!

Sadly enough, such impressionable "pupils" who never developed their thinking faculties to a level worthy of matured students, today stand up and call genuine students of the scriptures "Brainwashed" simply because these students have the moral fiber to pursue a life of accountability before a Creator, God. 

These pupils are the ones who turn out to be atheist, influenced by half knowledge and swollen expressions of emptiness from so-called scholars who they (the pupils) hold in reverence and do not dare to question! They truly are the brainwashed ones, are they not?

If you think not, then answer me this I beg of you:

1) Whose reasonings are they propounding on this thread- one exclusively originating with them or one laced with and influenced by the toxins distilled and spewed by evolution proponents and oriental philosophies?

2) Which one of all those atheist following this thread has published a truly scientific collection of facts that demonstrates the Big slam hypothesis (I deliberately refuse to label any fallacy as Theory) in a global journal? Let him show it now or forever keep silent!

3) If bible students stand here judged and condemned as repeating age old explanations, let one single accuser present his brand new, proven and demonstrable, scientifically accepted proof debunking the simple age old majestic and unfading Creation account found in the scriptures.

As a scientist myself, I know that true science only seeks to discover, understand and eventually explain creation, with a view to harnessing principles for practical application in human societies.

Only impressionable, gullible "pupils" of science begin to exalt science over creation or the concept of Creatorship.

So, why wander along their pathways?

Have you not seen the result of their way? Reckless and selfish living which only hides their utter hopelessness and emptiness inside while they pretend to be enlightened and liberated from all cares in the world? Do you not observe the climbing rate of Suicide, Divorce, Drug Abuse and Addiction in lands where the majority pursue the unaccountability philosophy embedded in atheism?

Let no atheist deceive you - All humans stand subjected to a higher influence:

Either subject to their subconscious self-indulgent desires which are in-turn subject to their morally bankcrupt environmental exposures leading to short term pleasures and long term emptiness and ruin;

Or subject to the perfect moral code of conduct prescribed by the Creator of all, with short term self-sacrificing and long term discipline, hope and fulfillment.   

It is indeed your call as to how you chose to live your life. Make that decision sincerely, not hypocritically, and your life will take on more meaning.

As to your confusions and doumbfoundedness, you can cure these by heeding this admonition:

"If anyone of you is lacking wisdom, let him keep on asking God, for He gives generously to all and without reproaching, and it will be given him. But let him keep on asking in faith, not doubting at all, for he that doubts is like a wave of the sea driven by the wind and blown about. Infact, let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from Jehovah; he is an indecisive man, unsteady in all his ways" - James 1:5-8


Your spiritual indecision may eventually make you indecisive in all other aspect of your life, making you "unsteady in all [your] ways".  Don't let that happen.

Check your motives. If you sincerely want answers to life's most important questions, examine  the Topics: WHAT IS THE TRUTH ABOUT GOD?" & "WHAT IS GOD'S PURPOSE FOR THE EARTH?" in the book - What Does The Bible Really Teach? You can get one from Jehovah's Witnesses, and I do recommend it to all my students freely.

Start your search for God at the right place: In your room in private prayer.

And remember to accept the simple obvious tool for the simple task on your hand. Quit wasting your life, searching for the exotic, sophisticated yet-to-be created tool that will eventually only perform the very same task in exactly the same way!
