Former Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o was handed a 22-month suspended prison sentence by a Spanish court on Monday after admitting tax fraud of €3.8 million ($4m) while he was playing for Barcelona.
Eto'o agreed to pay a fine of €1.8m and the €3.8m in tax owed from image rights between 2006 and 2009.

"I admit the facts and I am going to pay what I'm due, but let it be known that I was just a child then and that I always did what my former agent Jose Maria Mesalles, who I considered like a father, asked me to do at that time," Eto'o, who is now 41, told the court in Barcelona on Monday.

Formula One is moving closer to securing a South African Grand Prix at former race venue Kyalami, which could be on the schedule as early as next year.

F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali has flown straight from Baku, host of Sunday's Azerbaijan GP, to South Africa for talks over the potential return.

F1 has been looking to add a race in Africa, the only remaining continent without one.
Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton has been one of the most vocal advocates of a race at Kyalami, situated north of Johannesburg.
Kayalami hosted F1 races between 1967 and 1985, and again in 1992 and 1993, and has recently had its facilities brought up to The FIA standards required to host a modern race.
Although 2024 has always been seen as the most likely return point for Kyalami it is understood F1 is now keen to secure the race for 2023 if possible.

Paul Pogba has completed his return to Juventus on a free transfer after leaving Manchester United, sources say.

The 29-year-old has signed a four-year deal at Juventus as he moves to the club for the second time in his career -- he previously joined the Italian giants in 2012 from United.

Pogba enjoyed a successful four-year first stint in Turin, winning four consecutive league titles and two Coppa Italia trophies. He will also be reunited with manager Massimiliano Allegri as the club look to win their first Serie A title since 2020.

Sources told also said; last month that Pogba was keen on a return to Juventus after turning down interest from Premier League champions Manchester City.

PSG were also a potential destination for the France international, but the departure of sporting director Leonardo and the arrival of Luis Campos cooled down the interest from the Ligue 1 champions.

Pogba will detail the reasons behind his move in a documentary, "The Pogmentary," which will be released on Amazon Prime on Friday.

Earlier this month, United confirmed that the midfielder would leave when his contract expired, bringing an end to a difficult six-year spell at Old Trafford.
