I have been with STANBIC IBTC for ages. I have no issues. They also have advantage of being the front for the big IPO's less likely to get your eventual allocations slash down if oversubscribed when you get it through them. I also think their fees are cheaper than most. Evnne: You are right sir but considering where I live, if I have that much money, I will rather invest it in S&P 500, OR any index fund that tracks s&p 500. |

I am a member from diaspora. I will split it both ways. Honestly, if and only if naira continues to be stable like this, I would be biased towards NGX than S&P...but diversification is key. Oil prices are cratering down due to opening of strait of Hormuz. If that's what is propping up OANDO, expect it to be in deep red on Monday. |

Does anyone know what's up with UBA result release? |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by millo: 2:58pm On Apr 10 |
Access typically drag into April. What about UBA, that's the one am surprised results not out yet. I am eagerly waiting for bothe. EDUECO: They want to sanitize the result.
I am very sure Access Bank is trying to buy First Bank. |

I agree with the first 2, but OANDO is too risky a play for me. might be good for JIJO though. ProphetUtuocha: As earlier revealed, these remain rare jewels: - Access - Uba - Oando Enough said! |

Yes, I have some skin in AIICO game. HesInMe: Abi? If you're going to invest in insurance, a structurally fragmented industry where it's hard to see a durable source of competitive advantage, invest in the current cream of the crop. |

We are many planning same move. mikeapollo: I am expecting dividend like N2 or N3 from Access because they did not declare interim dividend I am expecting the rise to hit N35-N40 after the dividend so I can sell and move the funds to Dang Refinery IPO or Providus-Unity Bank. |

People like me. Waiting to get UBA and access dividend or appreciation from pre-dividend run. Plan to go in hard on Dangote refinery. emmanuelewumi: People interested in Dangote Refinery shares will rather keep or save their funds till June.
I foresee a situation whereby people will book profits from NGX in order to participate in Dangote Refinery Initial Public Offer |

Hello my people, I parked some money in OANDO last Friday, partly a stroke of luck. Just wanted to buy something very liquid with higher chance of going up than down when I bought it. Now that I suspect it will approach or likely exceed #50. I won't pick up right issue and will probably bail out. Any suggestion of a more aggressive stock with good prospect? I have a larger portfolio in a conservative, very slow-moving but dividend-paying accesscorp. |

It's not about being scared of loan. There are "good" debts and bad debts. Can someone make it make sense why you take a 23% loan when you have a MMF yielding 17%? Meaning -5% loss. MMF by nature are easily liquid and its not like they rise in value. You only lose out on the profit, but if you need money that saves you from a net loss of 5% by taking another loan. It is a different case if you have a good stock that is awaiting a catalyst soon and you do not want to pull out before the news. gabscity: Na wa o. Why are people so scared of loan??
Its even advisable he takes the smart loan against his MMF in as much as he has the cash flow to repay the loan monthly. That way, his MMF investment remains and keeps growing while he pays back his loan monthly...
ok think of it this way, if he had a property, say land, and he uses it for security to obtain a loan for an investment, he just need to have cash flow to payback...
For me, I will take the Smart loan against the MMF to meet the immediate need for cash since I have the cash flow to payback gradually. |

You are not entirely wrong, but Dangote Petroleum is likely a unicorn (good or bad) - unique. It will probably be overpriced, even if not, hard to get a baseline idea of the worth...but there will be FOMO, monopoly, FDI from $ denomination etc. It will be such a wild ride for the several months till financial statements come out and everyone finds their level. Did you say no dividend? Accesscorp has declared dividend every year for last 5 years averaging 10% of SP. Bad idea in my view to sell now. You might wait for SP to run up by almost 10% before Ex-div date. Some sell then, some wait for their dividend. I know the price is not moving much, but it is a solid, safe stock to have. Ourown: Is it worth holding on to my ACCESSCORP? For a year now no dividend payment and no significant increase. Make I sell am? |

yok: MSCI ADDITION FOR 20 TO 24 APRIL 2018/GENERAL MARKET COMMENT
MSCI has dropped Forte Oil from its portfolio. This joins the like of PZ, Seplat etc which were formerly in the portfolio, but have now been dropped. We do not need to panic about this, it has been in the fund’s agenda for a long time, FCMB was equally dropped before being added again. To refresh our memory look at this: http://www.punchng.com/msci-review-forte-oil-fbnh-guinness-pz-others-dropped/ Going back Forte oil was added into the fund around 2014- https://www.proshareng.com/news/Investors%20NewsBeat/Forte-Oil-and-ETI-Plc-included-in-MSCI-Frontier-Market-Index/23222
Then for those who are afraid of OANDO going down, just put a limit order to sell at NGN9.14 immediately this morning I such that if the order is already sitting in the market before the open, you will be able to sell.
Was the fund the Jonah in the bull “boat” for Forte oil? We fold our arms to watch.
Caution: This is for information purpose only. Data used are assumed to be correct. However, you may want to verify the data from an appropriate source. What does anyone think of OANDO, sell or sit tight? |
