chukyjones: I use them too. They are just good. For account opening, your portfolio should be worth N5M, used to be N10M.
Yeah, portfolio or cash of #5m minimum

I have to say that I have no regret porting from cashcraft, Stanbic IBTC has been fantastic. If you don't mind the high entry price or no of transferred shares, I will highly recommend them. They seem to have a way of getting stock to buy or sell no matter how tight the market seem to be and at a very reasonable price. I dumped transcorp last thurs after a 35% profit and increased my Oando on Friday, it was sold at markets highest price for the day., They were able to buy me #3m+ worth of oando at 24.98, I bought a little more today and I still wonder how they got it at #25 after looking at today's trading pattern. Meanwhile, I instructed buying at market price to be sure I will get my transaction done.

Aks: I can bet it with anybody, Oando shares can't go lower than N25. I picked few units today @ N25.81
I have bailed out of Transcorp today, 35%+ gain is good enough for me. I'll stake it on increasing my Oando tomorrow, the price seem really good. I expect it to pick up from Monday.

I wonder why there is a sudden surge in volume of Ikejahotels nearly 23m from usual 300k? Any idea?

Country people of nairaland, whats your take on unitybank, I know it in car park, but the volume of trade is still relatively high, whats up with it? I have always doubted the fundamentals, but any sentiments?

SO WHO TOLD YOU ABOUT THIS FORUM DOC
I was with cashcraft where I can call up my account officer and talk about what to buy(tho many times, I think my judgement seem better than his), but they got suspended and I kept wondering why my trades were not executed, they didnt tell me on time about the suspension, so I changed broker, now I have to source for info on my own, I decided to check NL, so I saw this forum

Audacius: Hmmm. The N5,000 investors should plssss not be discouraged though. Been there. Done that. One should just ALSO be happy one is in the market to play the "game". I remember the thrill of my first shares: 50 units of oando at 97.50.(2002±). What's that with the current goings-on! The "air-breathing, mama ejiro-going institutions" are the ones keeping the market alive I guess. And they are many! Lol
yeah, my first investment thru a stockbrocker was 2,500 as a medical student, I built up my portfolio then 2007 got fingers burnt like most people, I sold off and ate guguru with the money. One has to be brave, I re-enterred again, lessons have been learnt: don't be too greedy, join the moving train, cut your losses quick if you have to...follow some smartasses in a forum like this.
With the train of unity bank surge early last year, transcorp, later this year and currently oando, my initial portfolio has grown nearly 400% (inclusive of losses made on some other stock), meanwhile. I totally missed FO's bus, I didn't even notice it. If I had been on a forum like this, I wouldn't have.

I bought 418000 shares at 24.24, thats 10.13m on 31st Dec, the next business day is today, it gained 10.23%, so thats 1.13m. Still trying to get a little more while watching the tide of things. I recently discovered this forum, and I think you guys are great. The info we share here is invaluable.

Toluway: since last week meristem just couldn't get me Oando while I watch it appreciating at least 10% everyday. This is rather scary.
I think it may also have to do with the stockbroking house too, my broker got still got me over 400,000 units, got only 18000 today tho. I joined the bus late, but it doesn't matter, still made 1m+ today

immanuello: Happy New Year to all my teachers, lecturers, guadians on this platform,i say a big thank you to you all.May this 2014 be more rewarding than ever for all of us on our nija bourse.
Mercylicious please how is service efficiency of morgancapital cos i want to swap to morgancapital soonest and how fast is their trade execution and do they reply mails or mandates promptly. Also, are they good in getting a stock cheaper for clients than others as compared to investment one that i currently use, even though investment one is very good by all parameters but they are not super for me interms of getting stock bought for me at my baba-ijebu price limit as being a proud value hunter.Advice is also needed from all my ogas in the house to contribute in helping your SON.
Stanbic IBTC stockbrokers are also very good, they execute mandates promptly, few days ago, they managed to sell my transcorp @4.69 on a day it closed at 4.50.

Hello shrewd ladies and gentlemen, I have benefited a lot from this forum. I just have a quick question, if you will invest up to 3M, on which stock will you put it? Willing to stay for 3-6months.
