When most people hear that word “meek,” they think of a weak, shy, reserved or timid person who lets everybody run all over them. But that’s not at all what it means to be meek.

Meekness is not weakness; it’s strength under control. Meekness is like a wild horse that has been tamed. He’s just as strong, just as powerful, has just as much speed as before; but now that strength is under control. You can walk up to that horse, pet him, lead him around, and ride him. But don’t be fooled. He has the same power and tenacity as before; he’s just learned how to control it.

When you’re a meek person, you don’t have to go around trying to straighten everybody out. You don’t respond to every critic. People may be talking about you, but you don’t let it bother you. You may have the power to do something about it, but you realize your time is too valuable. You don’t fall for every distraction. Instead, you keep your focus on what God has called you to do. You keep your strength and power under control so that you choose to stay in peace and move forward in the victory the Lord has in store for you.

Exhibting the Fruit of the spirit helps us in every area of our life, it's not just reading it (The Fruit of the spirit) daily but practicing it in our daily encounter with the world. The Fruit of the spirit distinguish us from the world and it also makes us stand out.

When seeking anything from God with a humble, submissive, heart that believe it's nothing without him( God) we see that our prayers are answered without delay.

To have faith is not by mouth or by character but is by works. *if a man say he has faith but without works he has no faith*. Many today lack progress because of lack of workable faith in their life. Remember Jesus said *if you have faith you will move what?* .
It is only faith that can take you to a greater high.
So beloved this morning learn to have faith in God. A song said have faith in God, He see all things and know all things.
When you have a workable faith in your life you will see that your life will change.
Then what is faith?

Working faith is a faith that compromised not when the going gets tougher.
When storm seems to rage more than expected or when one reached his/her elastic limit during trying time, diverting one's focus from Jesus Christ makes one's faith to be dormant.
Apostle Peter started well by accepting the challenge to walk on water as Christ Jesus did, but it was unfortunate that he became fearful in the face of the situation and thus shifted his focus from Jesus Christ, which made him to begin to drawn if not for his swift repentance to focus on Christ Jesus.
No matter the degree or the current of the wave in any storm, this should not shake or doubt our faith in the omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent God, one needs to keep his/her focus on Him alone who is always able to save and deliver.
I pray that the grace for us to be steadfast in our faith in the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, God shall grant unto us in Jesus mighty name, amen.

*And He said unto them, “Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.*

Great faith is an undaunting faith . It is a faith that stand firm in any situation when it seems no help is coming forth. Great faith, and not just faith is needed in some circumstances especially when seems all hope is lost. A typical example of those that exercised great faith in the scriptures is the three Hebrews. Despite faced with death warrant, not just death, but painful death through fierce furnace of which the heat that emanated from it alone was enough to kill - this shows the intensity of the fire, yet they remained unmoved. This is indeed a show of great faith.
Brethren, what is that situation or circumstance that seems God is not aware of, interested in, that seems God has abandoned you? No, not at all, HE has not forgotten or forsook you. HE is right there watching over you and seeing how you are handling things in the face of tough storm. HE will surely show up bro/sis, HE is just waiting for the right time to act, so that as you exercise great faith, you shall also have great testimony to tell.
Exercise your great faith in HIM who is able to save and deliver in that daring situation and HE shall surely vindicate you.

So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.

Just like we discussed yesterday. Being good is a nature and doing good is an act..
Today we will be looking at who to be good to.

Funny enough the bible instructed us to be good to everyone if we get the opportunity to. Both friends, fri-enemy and enemies..
Being good to just some people is against God's principle when it comes to goodness.

The Bible said we should love our neighbors as ourselves and we should pray for our enemies. Notice it didn't say, love your neighbor and hate your enemies.

A heart that does good to everyone has the power to transform a heart that does evil.. When you are good to people, it has an effect on others.

The only extra thing to do is to do more for those in the body of faith. As believers we are to show more goodness to our fellow believers because the bible says, we are the body of Christ meaning we are one. We strength others through our goodness.

In conclusion..
Showing goodness to others, is a powerful tools to bringing them to Christ. That's why at every opportunity you get, be good to them..
Showing more goodness to those is the body of faith is a means of strengthening each other to keep going.

Psalms 23:6, pointed out that goodness will follow you all the days of your life, this can only be achieved if you show goodness to others.
Remember, "what ever a man sow that he will reap". You cant sow evil and reap goodness. NO.

If you want good days, be good, show others goodness, see to their best interest. Don't do evil to any man.

Goodness is the nature (fruit) of the Holy Spirit, if you have the Holy Spirit in you, goodness is your nature too. You have the ability to do good. Then will goodness and mercy follow you for the rest of your days.

Those who are good have good things saved in their hearts. That’s why they say good things. But those who are evil have hearts full of evil, and that’s why they say things that are evil.

What is Goodness?
According to Webster dictionary, goodness is the quality or state of *being good..* (emphasis on being good).
First of all I will like us to know that the fruit of the spirit are not just list of things to be done, No. Before you could do you have to become first.
*There is a big difference between doing and being good.*
Doing good is just an Act while being good on a Nature. The nature of the Holy Spirit living inside of you.

If we take a look at our theme passage, you will discover it says something about those who do good having goodness saved (being good) in them, and that's why they say or do good things, and that's same thing for those who have evil in them.

Another passages we could look at is. Act 10:38.
" *You know about Jesus from Nazareth. God made him the Messiah by giving him the Holy Spirit and power. Jesus went everywhere doing good for people. He healed those who were ruled by the devil, showing that God was with him."*

There was a being before Jesus could do. (the indwelling of the Holy Spirit).
To break it all down now.
True goodness flows from within, that kind of goodness offered freely without expecting something in return from the other person, while just doing good, you could be expecting something in return for your act of goodness.
When you first become good you won't find it hard doing good...
Goodness is a nature and not just an act..
The fruit of the spirits are the nature of the Holy Spirit..

In conclusion..
To DO good you must first BECOME good..
Becoming is growing into the Nature of a thing while Doing is just an Act.
A heart that becomes first finds it easy to do.

Desire to constantly enjoy the goodness of God as long as possible?
The secret therein is to be kind and good to others as well.

It is the will of God to shower us with HIS goodness. What we just need to do as children of God is to allow this fruit (goodness) of the Holy Spirit to manifest in our lives and be felt in our daily activities towards others.

In exercising this fruit, one tends to enjoy not only the goodness of God, but also the good pleasure therein.

Therefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the *good pleasure of His goodness* and the work of faith with power,

Brethren, showing goodness to others doesn't necessarily mean giving out a huge cash to someone, it may be that timely advice, that little concern of caring, among others.

Therefore, brethren, let's endeavour through the help of the Holy Spirit allow this fruit to be seen in our lives in our daily living.

Goodness as one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit is a character that is expected to be seen in the life of every child of God  (Born again Christian )
It is the state of being kind and an extension of showing love to fellow human beings.
A Christian doesn’t just choose to show goodness to a particular set of people, but to all as much as the grace he/she received, not excluding our enemies. No wonder, Jesus admonished us to do so in Matthew 5 : 44
*But I say unto you, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, Do good to them that hate you, and pray for them that despitefully use you and persecute you,*

Why do we have to do good unto all including our enemies?
Because as children of God, we have to resemble HIM. HE gives to all the sunlight regardless of whom one is.
Matthew 5 : 45
*that ye may be the children of your Father who is in Heaven. For He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.*

Though it may seen difficult to extend the hands of goodness to our enemies as human being, but with the grace of God, everything is possible to those who believe. God in HIS power shall grant us the grace to do so.

Showing goodness to all attracts special goodness to oneself from God.
I pray the grace to exhibit this character for greater gain here on earth and in the world to come (God’s Kingdom)

Father we thank YOU for this moment, we pray O God that individually and collectively YOUR goodness shall be our portion in Jesus name. The nature of Gentleness reflects calmness, care, tenderness and the Love of Christ in meeting the needs of others. It is beyond an ordinary personality but what we are expected to be ,through the work of the Holy Spirit in us


Ephesians 4:2 says:

_With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love_



The opposite of gentleness is arrogance, anger or pride, which will not take us anywhere.

Men may hail and salute the unruly character but before our creator; is it acceptable?

2 Timothy 2:24  says:

_And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient_


Brethren,  let us examine ourselves, amend our ways and be a true son of the most high God.

As children of God, gentleness must be part of our daily lives and even in our communication with people around us.


From our Bible text today, we are reminded that a gentle answer or response will go a long way in promoting peace amongst us.



Jesus in His teaching in Mathew 5:9 , tells  us; _Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God_


Brethren, we are to be like our father in communication and character; such that it breeds peace and not anger.


Philippians 4:5 says:

_Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand_


Our communication and conversation must reflect the nature of Christ always. 

The Lord is counting on us to make our environment peaceful.


When conflict or disagreement arises,  our gentle nature should promote peace and calm the tensed situation. May the Lord help us in Jesus name.

_For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God_


For the past few days, we have been treating the topic gentleness; however, we should also remember that gentleness is highly required in our Christian walk.


The world could  misinterprete gentleness to mean weakness ,foolishness or inability, but it is an important character in the kingdom of God.


Gentleness is highly required to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit and to obey Him.


Whose children are we if we cannot hear the voice of our Lord and follow his instructions.

Jesus in John 10:27 says:
_My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me_


An arrogant mind cannot hear His voice, no matter who he is, or what he thinks he possess. 

The Lord resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. 


Brethren, it takes gentleness to receive the word of God and if we truly wants to be God's favourites, we must exhibit gentleness.

*TOPIC: Why Does God Want Us To Demonstrate Gentleness?*
*TEXT: Philippians 4:5 “let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.”*

Why does God want those He is working with to be concerned with how gently they think, act or talk? God has all the power in the universe, yet He is gentle with us, and He wants us to learn to be like Him. Then, when He gives us
power, He will know that we will not use it cruelly or rashly.
As we have seen, humility is closely connected with gentleness, so we need to also consider how God views humility. James 4:6 and 1 Peter 5:5 both say, “God resists
the proud, but gives grace to the humble” in reference to Proverbs 3:34. God resists pride, including our prideful justifications for not being gentle to those who have offended us, who have been harsh to us or who we don’t feel deserve gentleness.

These attitudes are prideful and lead to rationalizing away the need to be gentle. God wants us to show the same gentleness that Christ showed to the woman caught in adultery (John 8:1-11). Instead of being full of pride and self-righteousnss casting the first stone at a sinner, we are to follow the example of Christ, gently telling someone to go and sin no more. This is an example of gentleness God
wants us to learn from.

Why? There are several reasons: God is overwhelmingly gentle with us when we sin and need correction, and He expects us to be the same way with others. Also,
gentleness shows the world that the way of violent encounters and situations ruled by emotion is not the better way. And God wants us to demonstrate gentleness because human beings require a gentle touch in order to truly change
their lives and come to Him.

*CONCLUSION*
Being gentle doesn’t mean that we should not be strong in our beliefs, but it does imply that we should be wise and loving in expressing those beliefs to others. God shows tough love and teaches hard lessons to humans, all the while being the very definition of gentleness.

Every person is powerful. We can speak words that influence others; we can act in ways that help or hurt; and we can choose what influences will inform our words and actions. Gentleness constrains and channels that power. To be gentle is to recognize that God's ways and thoughts are high above our own (Isaiah 55:9). It is to humbly realize that our worldviews are shaped by exposure to sin and the misinterpretation of experience. It is to accept God's worldview, reflecting truth about the spiritual and the material worlds.

Today we are looking at another aspect of *GENTLENESS* but today we will like to see what gentleness mean to us from the New Testament perspective.

The New Testament. That king, now come in the flesh, is "gentle and humble in heart" ( Matt 11:29 ). In accord with the prophecy, he enters Jerusalem in gentleness and lowliness ( Matt 21:5 ). Paul appeals to believers "by the meekness and gentleness of Christ. By his Spirit, Christ cultivates the same quality in his people ( Gal 5:23 ). Following Jesus' example, Paul treats his people gently, "like a mother caring for her little children". He comes to them not "with a whip [but] in love and with a gentle spirit" ( 1 Cor 4:21 ). Church leaders are admonished to be "not violent but gentle" toward persons under their care ( 1 Tim 3:3 ); it is a quality they are avidly to pursue ( 1 Tim 6:11 ).

*Conclusion*
If I must live a fulfilled life I must then have to live a gentle kind of lifestyle.

*MEANING*
1. the quality of being kind, tender, or mild-mannered.
2. softness of action or effect; lightness.
Or
Sensitivity of disposition and kindness of behavior, founded on strength and prompted by love.

*Gentility is not stupidity*. It is a way of retaining your *dignity and respect*. That someone harassed you is not an avenue to become aggressive. The good that GENTLENESS do for you is far more than what aggressive action has to offer. To be gentle means to be calm no matter how people are tempting you to act (wrongly).

Lets look at what The Old Testament says concerning gentleness: Gentleness is suggested by the waters of a stream ( Isa 8:6 ) or by wine flowing over lips and teeth. It stands in contrast to baseness ( Deut. 28:54,56 ), and harshness ( 2 Sam 18:5 ). Gentle words wield great power ( Prov 15:1 ; 25:15 ). Job's counsels were well received, because he spoke them gently ( Job 29:22 ).
Gentleness evidences itself in a willingness to yield, reminiscent of a lamb being led to slaughter. The supreme exemplar of gentleness is Israel's God. He cares tenderly for the flock under his care, and gently leads those that have young.

Lastly, Jesus gave us the perfect picture of gentleness: “See, your king comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey” (Matthew 21:5), and now He offers us His gentleness as a gift. If we allow. the Holy Spirit to lead us, we will be filled with fruit of gentleness.

longsuffering is a virtue .it means to be self-restraint when one is stirred to anger. A longsuffering person does not immediately retaliate or punish; rather, he has a “long fuse” and patiently forbears.

Therefore in working with God, it is important we show this fruit of the spirit. Our love and work with God is incomplete without longsuffering .As it is in the character of God to be patience ( longsuffering) psalm86:15. God is love , therefore in displaying his love
 to us  , he gave us is only son for us to be saved . and he waited patiently for us to come to him . this is worthy to note that God showed longsuffering ( Patience) for us . 

2 peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Apostle Paul benefited from the longsuffering of God and he was saved  1Timothy1 : 16.
It is pertinent to note that many church goers hide on the longsuffering of God by saying they will gt saved when they are about to die

As children of God , we are expected to exhibit this fruit in our lives
exhibiting this fruit gives us forgiving heart and make us to say no to retaliation .
 In witnessing to people , longsuffering has a long way to go in winning souls for Christ . The apostles exhibited this despite their persecution they weren't baffled . I pray that God will grant us this virtue in Jesus name

Text: 1samuel 13:8-10.

8:Saul waited seven days, according to the set time Samuel had appointed. But Samuel had not come to Gilgal, and the people were scattering from Saul.
9:And Saul said, Bring hither a burnt offering to me, and peace offerings. And he offered the burnt offering.
10:And just as he finished offering the burnt offering, behold, Samuel came! Saul went out to meet and greet him.

Longsuffering is an important virtue to demonstrate in our obedience to God .
king Saul obeyed the commandment of God that he should wait for 7 days for Samuel to come which he did
in our text today, king Saul was pushed to make a decision that cost him the kingdom of Israel forever. pressure from the people made him to lose his patience and he decided to offer the burnt offering and peace offering which is the work of Samuel. It is important to know that lack of longsuffering lead us to make decisions or do things that we shouldn't do


In our relationship with God, it takes someone with longsuffering to succeed and finish strong . This is key to the success of the Apostles .Lack of longsuffering could be very disastrous to us as children of God cause it leads to decisions that will harm us for life .

We as children of God , have we lost our longsuffering due to problems in our relationship, family, lack of fruit of the womb, jobs . are we being pressurised by the people close to us,
Christ has overcome the world for us , our part is to believe in Christ and trust in him. We need to rely on Christ till the end john16:33

In our interaction with people, As children of God , we are expected to exhibit this fruit by being patience to talk as seen in James 1:19

it is even our fellow Christians that encourage us to make decisions that is detrimental to our lives . longsuffering is a virtue we need to pray for everyday

The devil test us through this virtue . In order to stand the test of time and to finish well we must exhibit this fruit . I pray God will grant us the grace to have this fruit of the spirit in Jesus name .

Why is it that longsuffering should be our watch ward?
Because with it a christian fall from the race. Even in life race. A man was to travel, meet his pastor and told him his plans and his pastor said no to him.
And he waited a little and go back to his pastor and his pastor said no the second time and give him time. And the went back same day and leave on his way he meet the end of his life.
My dearly beloved lack of longsuffering has a great dangers.
But happy are ye if u endure to the end.
Where should we have longsuffering: in marriage, workshop, at home, in the present of God, in searching for new jobs etc.
Listen to that voice that said to u wait.
And try to hear from God before u take your decision.
And the Lord Almight will richly bless u in Jesus name. Amen

Long sufering very hard and it is a must to all believers.
Why because is one of the fruits of the spirit. Our Lord God Almighty did it. Even Jesus christ also have a longsuffering for us all.
A clear look at our Lord God and Jesus Christ is our perfect example to us.
Without longsuffering it will be hard to make it in life. And without it people will say you are incomplete.
God has a longsuffering for our salvation. Why not we have longsuffering so that we will have all of our need.

What is disrupting peace for you today?

Are you not getting something what you want? Is somebody not doing what you want him or her to do? Are things not going according to your plan?

You can have peace today knowing your plan doesn’t have to work!

There is an eternal plan much higher than yours and much more detailed and complex. You may play a different role in that plan than you possibly know with limited scope and information.

Ask God for peace that will take the burden off your shoulders and mind and on to His.

Resting in the peace that you don’t have to figure it out will allow you to be the peaceful person that can impact others and draw them to a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. When others realize where the source of your peace comes from, they just might be interested to know more.

Anybody who has attempted a family photo in a serene setting knows it takes multiple snaps of the camera to get the “right one”. Don’t be afraid to share the messy ones, the wind-whipped hair in the face, the juice-covered kid, the double chin or any other imperfection.

Chances are somebody might benefit more to see that.

It reminds us peace and perfection isn’t found in this world.

However, there is eternal supply to look forward to.

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, *Prince of Peace*.” – Isaiah 9:6

Have you ever thought that peace isn’t meant for you alone?

If we seek out peace for our own sake, we may end up robbing somebody else of peace.

This leads to strife, war, envy, jealousy – you name it, when we seek out our own good at the expense of others, peace will not exist.

We benefit to remember true peace is made by God and exists for God.

In a relationship with God we are promised we have all that we need.

It is the sin, the bad stuff in us that causes us to think we need more than God.

When we look outside of Him for the answers to our peace, we come up empty each time.

We get it backward when we think that God wants us to have peace for our own sake and don’t realize that the peace God offers us in a relationship with him can help bring peace to others.

“Finally, brothers, rejoice. Aim for restoration, comfort one another,agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.” – 2 Corinthians 13:1

*Text: Galatians 5:22-23* But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Peace is knowing that the Lord of the universe is by your side and resting in that.

It’s not just knowing, but it is also living it out. Peace is sitting in comfort and knowing that God is next to your side no matter what. Peace is something that you can’t attain physically because the world is almost always going to be a rocky place.

So when the verse from Galatians says that the fruit of the spirit is peace, it is knowing that when we have the spirit in us and among us, we are able to sit in peace. We are able to rest in peace and know that the Holy Spirit is with us and the peace of God is in us.

“You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst out into song before you, and all the tress of the fields will clap their hands.” (Isaiah 55:12)

What a beautiful picture that this verse from Isaiah frames for us. As we go out in joy, we are led in peace; by holding onto joy, peace can guide us in our ways.

Think about the times you may be anxious, frustrated or living chaos. The world may seem to be spinning around at 100 miles per hour, and you just need a moment to sit and be still. The overwhelming peace that can comfort you during this time comes from the Holy Spirit within us.

Peace is knowing that our God is in control.

I pray that as we enter the month of March today the peace of the Lord shall not lack in our lives.

*1. Peace will guard your heart:* the peace of mind in a man gives him access into knowing the way to go. Peace guards you in all you are doing. Philippians 4:7

*2. Peace gives you victory:* Exodus 14:14 says The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. To be victorious in life and in destiny or ministry you need to hold your peace. Many people losses some battles in life because they fail to hold their Peace. Holding your peace, is allowing God to fight for you no matter how hot the battle is.

*3. Peace signifies sonship:* Matthew 5:9 “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Believers are known for the kind of peace they exhibit. If I must be called son of God then I must show the peace of God that is given to only the believers (sons).

*John 14:27a "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives....."*

*Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.*

It is worth to note that one of the evidence of your true sonship of the Father is confirmed by how peaceful you are and how you promote it. Our anchor scripture confirm that there is a blessing in been a peace maker.

*Mark 4:39*
*And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.*

You cannot claim you have the peace of God when you are afraid of what threatens others. Prior to the text above we see how the disciples of Jesus were threatened by the wind and storm while they were in the midst of the waters but Jesus was sleeping. What does that mean, the storm and wind is too small to disturb my peace (paraphrase). That is the kind of level Christ has operated on, by ensuring his peace is distributed on others. Peace! Be still.

Show your true identity as sons and daughters of God by living a life of peace in Christ Jesus. You can't claim sonship and leave a troublesome life.

Are you depressed, confused, rejected, neglected, abandoned, and don't know what to do; even to a point of contemplating suicide? Jesus is saying Peace! Be still.

JOSHUAS EARLY LIFE

Joshua was born as Hosea ben Nun in Egypt, in the year 2406 from creation; like Moses, he was hidden in the Nile after birth to escape Pharaoh's decree that all newborn Hebrew males be drowned in the river. For forty years, he was Moses' faithful disciple, "who did not budge from [his master's] tent" (Exodus 33:11; Joshua thus represents the trait of devotion and commitment one of the five primary prerequisites to the acquisition of the wisdom of Torah).
The English name "Joshua" is a rendering of the Hebrew language "Yehoshua", meaning Yahweh is salvation". ( Numbers 13:16 ).
We first find Joshua called upon by Moses not long after leaving Egypt to select men and go out and fight against Amalek, whom had come to fight against the Israelites. During the battle when Moses held up his hand and Israel would prevail in battle.
He was one of the twelve spies dispatched by Moses to scout the Land of Canaan in preparation for its conquest by the Children of Israel; it was then that Moses added the letter yud to Hosea's name, changing it to "Joshua" (" God will save" as a prayer and empowerment that "God shall save you from the plot of the Spies." Joshua was one of the two spies who brought a positive and encouraging report of the Promised Land, and tried to counteract the efforts of the other ten spies to dissuade the people from entering the land.
CHARACTER TRAITS OF JOSHUA
Courageous: Joshua 10:25 And Joshua said unto them, Fear not, nor be dismayed, be strong and of good courage: for thus shall the Lord do to all your enemies against whom ye fight. It takes a lion heart to have a lions share. Until you are courageous and bold to confront every obstacle you cant win the crown or archive your goal. It was courage that makes Joshua to see the possibility of winning the Canaanite in order to possess the land.
Positivistic: Proverb 23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he while 10 among them 12 spices were seeing how gigantic and how weak they are before the Canaanite, Joshua and Caleb were been positive minded, he was running with a mindset of small but mighty, we may be small in physical size but not in the spirit. The making of Joshua lies on his mentality, he think positive and act towards it.

Decisive: Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. He is not careful about how many people that is for him or on his side; in order word, if you want to turn to serve other gods but as for me and my family I will keep serving God. To stand with for what is right (especially in the things of God) even if you have to stand alone is to be in a place God has for you. He decided to follow God despite the confrontation from both within and without and God positioned him to stand above all.
Faithful: Numbers 14:68 And Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of them that searched the land, rent their clothes: And they spake unto all the company of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it, is an exceeding good land. If the Lord delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey. To follow the crowd is to lost in the crowd. He gives account of exactly what he sees and not what others see or say.
Obedient: Joshua 11:15 As the Lord commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Joshua, and so did Joshua; he left nothing undone of all that the Lord commanded Moses. Obedience is not doing what is right only; but doing the right thing with or without a second party monitoring you. God instructed Moses, and before the departure of Moses, he instructed Joshua on what to do and despite that he (Moses) was dead he still keep to his instruction. He never deviated from what Moses or God instructs him to do.
Reverent to God: Joshua 5:14 And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the Lord am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his servant? Joshua was a man who has reverence for God. A man that wants to go higher in life must be a man that reverence God who is above all. John 4:23 But the hour is coming and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. From Joshua 5:14 we find out there that he fell to his face in worship of the God of heaven in accordance to John 4:23.
Spiritually Minded: Joshua 3:5 And Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves: for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you. Joshua 8:3031 Then Joshua built an altar unto the Lord God of Israel in mount Ebal, As Moses the servant of the Lord commanded the children of Israel, as it is written in the book of the law of Moses, an altar of whole stones, over which no man hath lift up any iron: and they offered thereon burnt offerings unto the Lord, and sacrificed peace offerings. The strength of any person is measured by the strength of his spiritual altar. If you must be great in life, you must be a man/woman with an altar with fire and sacrifice. The altar is a place of sacrifice/offering, your sacrifice of praise, worship, giving (to God and man), your BODY.
Joshua was a servant: Exodus 24:13 And Moses rose up, and his minister Joshua: and Moses went up into the mount of God. Servant of servants is servants of God. Before Joshua became a servant of God, he was a servant ministering unto Moses. Moses can be on the mountain for as far as 40 days and nights he will be there with him, He serves Moses diligently and faithfully and then he was builded and rooted in knowing what it takes to be a leader and a servant of God.
Joshua was submissive: one thing is for a man to be a servant and its another thing for that servant to be submissive in Joshua was not only a servant to Moses but he submitted to his leadership and authority. He acknowledge the fact God placed Moses to be the leader so he obediently followed him wherever he goes and do what he is commanded to do. He is a man who also respects people of higher grace; he knows what it takes for God to speak to man voice-voice. Until you submit to people higher than you, you can never acquire the mantle they possess. Joshua was able to realize that there is a mantle upon Moses that he need to contact therefore he strive at all cost to get it and he received it.
Joshua was a prophet: It is not enough to prophesy but that is may come to pass; after the destruction of Jericho, he cursed the land and his prophesy came into manifestation upon the person who disobeyed or walk contrary to the word
THE PROPHESY:
Joshua 6:26And Joshua adjured them at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before the LORD, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho: he shall lay the foundation thereof in his firstborn, and in his youngest son shall he set up the gates of it.


THE FULFILLMENT OF HIS PROPHESY
1 Kings 16:34 In his days did Hiel the Bethelite build Jericho: he laid the foundation thereof in Abiram his firstborn, and set up the gates thereof in his youngest son Segub, according to the word of the LORD, which he spoke by Joshua the son of Nun.
CONCLUSION
Joshua started out as a brave man who served Moses, both as a servant and military leader. As he spent time with Moses, his faith grew to such that he was undeterred by what most people considered to be insurmountable challenges. This led him to be more courageous as he constantly sought Gods counsel and strength. While he was a leader that challenged people to be faithful and holy, his death revealed a weakness in those who came after him to carry on his example to the next generations. Joshua serves as an example to believers of how humility, devotion, and faith can empower us to become great leaders for God

*But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, PEACE, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.*
What is peace?
1. Peace is the concept of harmony and the absence of hostility.
2. freedom from disturbance; tranquillity.
3. a state or period in which there is no war or a war has ended.


It has been confirmed that peace of mind is the elimination of fear, worries, anxiety. From our anchor scripture above we can denote from it that Christians are not only endowed with the fruit of love and joy but also of peace.
Peace is one of the fruit of the holy spirit that we must all exhibit, why?
John 14:27
I give you peace, the kind of peace only I can give. It isn't like the peace this world can give. So don't be worried or afraid.

It has been given to us by the Master, so it is an error for a so called Christian to still live in fear. I want you to understand the fact that your life is not complete without peace. There is nothing that makes a man live long and living well like been peaceful. Gentility is not an act of been peaceful, they are two different things you must understand.

That someone is not violent does not really mean he is peaceful, there are possibly certain things that is still bothering him within. But peace is the elimination of fear, worries.

Therefore, strive to gain and exercise that fruit of the Spirit PEACE! and I pray the Lord Almighty will give each and everyone, that peace of the Lord that passes all understanding will be released on us in Jesus name! Amen!!!
