There is nothing wrong in children still reading Chike and the River, that is literature and never outdated.

Here in the UK, kids in primary schools are still reading books written by the likes of RL Stevenson and Charles Dickens, who both died over 130 years ago.

Lies no one works 3 straight days in the same company, I mean 24 hours for 3days. If is in the uk, it is 100% impossible.

During my student days, I worked with Nigerian colleagues who did 12 hours night shift in a mental health hospital, who came to start shift with me at 8.00am at a children residential home, after finishing from the hospital at 7.30am. Our shift finished at 5.00pm, I went home to go chill, while they prepared for the next 7.30pm night shift.🙄

You think Nigerians in the UK slaving away just to keep a roof over their heads and the heat on are happy where they find themselves ?

Do you even know that most are being "sponsored" by UK employment firms and can't work outside their UK employee agency and as such are paid far less than a UK citizen?

Nigerian medical practitioners (Nurses and Doctors) who are working under same agency arrangements cried out that they are being far less paid than their British counterparts by as much as 40-60% and their continued stay in the UK is tied to the contract they signed with a third party employment agency.

The agency does not pay for their travel or visa fees and will also collect huge commission on their earnings and they will be left to pay taxes on the rest .

It's modern day slavery .


The worst is even those who were decieved by agents working on comision for dubious universities that if after the completion of their studies they will get them a job only to be told to return back to Nigeria and reapply through another agency that will get them menial jobs like care givers despite having a post graduate degree from a university that is not recognised in the UK.

The UK govt is making a tonne of money from Nigerians migrating to the UK.

First they will pay agents to secure a visa that they will still pay for.

Next they will purchase an air ticket on British Airways (a state owned airline ) that will also include airport levies that will boost Heathrow airport passenger tarrifs.

Then they will need to convert their naira to UK pounds which will involve liquidating their assets in Nigeria so that they can afford 3 months rent in a tiny flat .

And when they start working they will realize that all their earnings is going to pay bills and taxes and they are left with less than £100 in savings .

And out of that £100 they must set aside money for dependants back home or in most cases repay loans to people they borrowed to get to the US.

At the end , a typical Nigerian who migrated to the UK within the last 10ys is only working to pay taxes into the UK treasury and rent to British landlords and boost the consumer market through VAT payments.

I know people in this same UK who have called me here in Nigeria to loan them money despite them working over there and send the loaned money to a dependant here in Nigeria. I also have friends in the US who have complained to me about their relatives or a shared friend in the UK who have been bugging them to borrow them money.

Anything Japa to UK or any other European country or Canada is slavery

As per Canada don't let me even start . It's better to remain unemployed or underemployed in Canada because you get state benefits but the moment you begin to earn a certain amount the state will come for over 40% of your wages. Then there's the very high cost of rent and groceries in Canada that doesn't even make sense .

Europe (especially the UK) and Canada are exploiting migrants to near slavery status.

Remember , the best slave is one who doesn't even know he or she is in slavery.

Which practicing Nigerian doctor and nurse who are legally in the UK is being paid less than their statutory band pay by the NHS? They even earn more doing locums through agencies.

If you are being sponsored in the UK, you have a right to work extra 20hrs weekly in other organizations, so I don't know the basis of your falsehood.

It is not mandatory to fly British Airways when coming to the UK, overwhelming majority didn't.

A minimum wage earner here in the UK, lives more comfortably than someone in Nigeria earning N500K monthly, let that sink in.

A minimum wage earner here in London, can comfortably buy the attached foodstuffs with the 50mins wage....let that sink in.

He/she can comfortably pay for a return flight from London to Rome (Italy(, with income from 4hrs of work.

The attached car was put for sale at £2,000, if he/she does the extra 20hrs weekly, in another organization, that extra money alone can buy that vehicle within 3 months....can a minimum wage earner in Nigeria, save to afford that same car in 3 YEARS?
