dederocs: If course, minimum wage to minimum wage, but the bills there too are paid for in pounds. It's good to have more Nigerians travel, for foreign payments to come in and boost our foreign exchange earnings, but what am saying is, we need some quality human resources here, to move this nation forward. People in business, with low bills, and good earnings in Nigeria are living a very good life. Yes the security situation is bad, this is the only challenge now. If I am to practice in Nigeria as a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Specialist, over 85% of Nigerian parents who would need my services for their children cannot afford my bill and working in a Nigerian public health facility which should make it cheaper for the parents, will be premium shege for me, with the peanuts paid to healthcare professionals in Nigeria. I am where my skills are appreciated and rewarded, while I offer pro bono services to some, back in Nigeria. |

Rybnyk: A psychiatrist can also help to administer psychotherapy.... That is not a Psychiatrist's speciality as their training is focused on diagnosis and prescription, while the training of a Psychotherapist is focused on talk therapy, reason they do employ Psychotherapists in Psychiatrisic facilities and I did work in one as a Psychotherapist. |

WizardOfNG: Absolutely. If a reasonable person, to begin with, you accept and work with reality ,even if such appears unfair, to get where you must.
It usually works out well in the end for pragmatists and realists who don't sit around obsessing about the problem when they should be seeking solutions to overcome it. No mind them, I started out with minimum wage jobs as a packing operative, now settled in a professional role I visioned for myself, way back during my undergraduate days. |

That is the survival stage and with resilience, will achieve stability in the coming years.
I packed bananas at Fyffes Bananas as a student and on some shifts paired with an Indian who was also a postgraduate student and shared she is a Pediatrician and relocated to the UK with her family through studies...I humble instantly.
Today, she works at the Great Ormond Street Children Hospital, here in London while I am employed as a Clinical Practitioner by a London borough in Central London.
It is a process that eventually pays off, if focused. |

I've seen your posts here and you come across as someone very knowledgeable on certain career fields.
What possible fields and accompanying professional courses can you recommend for someone in the prison service in the U.K (specifically a Prison Officer) that also has international demand?
Your response is appreciated. Is this person interested in continuing his/her work within the prison system? If yes, which dept/unit of the prison service is the person presently working in? |

DiarisGodoo: My friend a Nigerian living a normal life dies in their 70's or 80's, anything less and we say the person is gone too soon. All these averages include infant mortality, Boko killings, etc, that don't affect the average adult you know. The average adult Nigerian lives to 70's or 80's. If some 60 year old Nigerian dies, will you say they had a normal life span? Go do your extensive research, read published reports and you would know Nigerians over the age of 70 are not even up to 5% of the entire population of over 200 million people. |
