You are doing the £2000 route. Goodluck. You could have tried to get ROA tho. Goodluck

The guy has just gotten so confused with all the half-baked processes he has been given. I was thinking someone who has gone through similar process would just be kind enough to give him the step by step processes involved. We did something similar for my siblings. Our Dad is a British citizen by naturalization but we were all born in Nigeria and my mum happens to be the second wife Hence the need for DNA test in our own case. We applied to be registered as a British citizen through our Dad (Under the route that says if your parents are not legally married as at the time of your birth or if the were and not legally married). We were given options of some clinics for the DNA test. Ours was done at King's College Hospital in London. We became registered as a British citizen and applied for our British passport. I applied for mine in the UK but my younger ones applied from Nigeria. The form to use for applications abroad is on their website. You cannot use the post office form for applications from outside the UK.
The countersignature was done by our Church Pastor in Nigeria and he sent a colored copy of his Nigerian Passport bio data page.

We had to send the application to Durham using DHL. My Dad was later called for an interview at the VI, Lagos office. I dont think you have to travel to Nigeria for this. If you state in the application that you are in the UK and that your wife is with the child in Nigeria, they might decide how and who they would like to interview. And I am sure they would work with your locations as well.

Do not let all these posts be so overwhelming for you. Take your rime to read and digest the forms, the supporting documents and the processes on their website.
Good-luck Dear!

Was refused on section 320(11)

For missing 2 reporting sessions
And frivolous application (applying too many times)

Financial requirement which i think they made a mistake coz we submit all doc. She earns 27.5k

We now have a british child. Was born after the decision. Now six months old. Will that help during the appeal ?

I would advise you go on that Facebook group and ask your question as the group comprises of different people with different nationalities and with different immigration issues. If you get someone on here to help you out, fine. But then it's worth trying different avenues. I pray everything works in your favor. Good-luck.

Morning gurus in thr house. Please i need advice. Has any one won a section 320(11) case. If yes. Please tell me how?

Hi @sholeola can you please be explicit about the content of section 320(11) for you to get a response ASAP. Don't think anyone would be going to check what the section says to respond to you. It would be great if you state the main reasons for your refusal as the section 320(11) encompasses a lot. If I am not mistaking, if your read this thread from the beginning you are very likely to find someone who had been in similar situation as yours. You can try this facebook group "I LOVE MY 'FOREIGN' SPOUSE: defend the rights of cross-border couples" Good-luck.

I think this is the best option too... apply for fast track via NARIC not the letter from school.

If I could recall well, NARIC requested for a letter from the school to process the NARIC Certificate. Things might have changed though because this was almost 2 years ago.

Good afternoon everyone. Thank you for this informative thread.

Please, I have a question about the six months payslip requirement.

I intend to start and submit my application in August. However my husband may not be able to provide payslips for May and June because he was on unpaid leave.

Do I still present six months payslips from July/June to February/January (If the 12 months gross is above 18,600 GBP) or present six months payslips from April to November last year?

Thanks

IMHO, I would advise you start counting your 6 months from July (Month after his unpaid leave). It is better to be safe than sorry. I would advise you to zero your mind to applying this August and just put your mind to January 2019 (while making sure hubby works fully for the 6 months with payslips to and bank statements as proof) i.e no to unpaid leave for the 6 months.
By January 2019, his 6 months would start from July 2018.

Killingmesoftly:
Good day house, ps I will like to get some explanations on this issue about a friend of mine waiting for her hubby to fill for her stay from Nigeria.

She said the hubby came to the uk as an EU spouse, the hubby was married in Germany and later the he persuaded the white lady he married to bring him to the uk, that he prefers the UK to enable him further his studies, which the white lady did, dat was in jan 2011 they came to uk. The white lady did all the immigration runnings and he got a five years stay, which he can still renew. So later in 2012 they divorced amicable bc of some circumstances , without no grudges, and the guy stayed alone. And in 2017 he applied for his permanent resident but was not given. The reason given is that he should provide a proof that the ex-wife was working in the UK bf divorce. But the problem is that he has losted contact with the lady and when contacted on Facebook, she has refused to respond . The lady av left UK. So the lawyer told him that when he is feel to apply on his own is in two years time. Which is ending of 2019. Ps house is this true? My friend has been confused and she really need to join her hubby, she is tired of staying alone here in Nigeria.

More so her husband is a surpport worker and works with diff agencies here in London. I will like to ask when he gets the permanent resident can the hubby apply for her with agency pay slips or will he need to get a full time job for this application? The man says he makes more than £18,600 in a year bc the agency pays him more. Ps any advice on this, should he switch to permanent job when he gets his permanent resident and want to fill for his spouse?

Hi @Killingmesoftly I would only be able to answer the question i bolded. To the best of my knowledge, I don't think working with an agency matters in as much as you are earning £18600 and above and you have all documents to prove this (employer letter, contract, pay slips and bank statement). When my husband applied last year, I was working with an agency and his application came through..

Good day everyone.
I just did my biometrics, but they didnt take the full application form, just the first 2 pages of it and my passport.
Do I have to DHL the signed application to hubby? Or I can just scan it?
Also for my cover letter is it okay to type it out and sign and just scan it to him as well?
Thank you.

DHL it to him or to Sheffield (whichever way both of you planned to do it) with all other supporting documents with you.

Hello house. Good morning

Quick question(s) please. What is the implication of not including a self addressed envelope in the documents sent to UKVI? Also, has anyone missed out sending the envelope with their documents as well in the past? If yes, what did you do? did it affect your application in anyway?

Anyone with the contact email address of the UKVI where you can send email to to inquire or know if they have received your supporting documents?

I will appreciate a prompt response to these questions. Thanks and have a great day

In my own understanding, the self-addressed envelope is required to send your supporting documents back to you. and because most of these documents are of great importance to virtually all applicants, they believe that you would want it to get back to you safe. So i would say the implication of not including one could be loosing your document.

Boss LexusGs430 abeg, I have a friend that has an MSc in Cardio Rehad, and first degree in Physio but wants to go back to undergrad in the UK for nursing. Her fiance is an EU citizen but trying to get his Brit passport, then they will marry and apply for her spousal visa this year. When she gets to the UK by January Next year as the wife of a citizen, will she be able to pay the tuition fees as a UK student or as an International student, seeing as she won't have her passport until after 5 years.

To the best of my knowledge, even as a British citizen for you to be able to pay home/EU fee you have to be resident in the UK with proof for at least 3 years. My little brother is a British citizen and when we tried to make him have his undergrad in UK, they requested proof of his residency in the UK in the last 3 years for him to be able to pay Home student fee. There might be other ways around this though because we didn't push it further.

They are so unpredictable. But so far from what many people on this thread have said, they were not asked any serious question. My hubby was asked how excited he was to join his wife and his passport was stamped. If you can find your way to 'home'(where your spouse resides), then there is no point meeting you up if you guys dont see need for it. But IMHO, I would advise your spouse meets you up at the airport in case of any unforeseen contingencies.

Travel / Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by Minnienellie24: 9:27am On Jan 11, 2018
To the best of my knowledge, when you are on a salary, being sick for a few days should not affect your salary except your income is based on the number of hours you worked then you are paid at month end. I am a salary earner now and i have taken some sick leaves which did not affect my salary at all.
Besides, I don't know why you are trying to complicate issues for your self. That is the essence of the additional information page. You can explain the reason(s) for the income variation for that month there. no one plans to be sick and anything could have happened. Just be as transparent as you can with your application. I did not submit any P60 with my application because i had none for the financial period I applied with (august 2016 to march 2017).

MreSBee:

Thanks for your response again and thanks for sharing the screenshot.

What you did for your application was amazing honestly (compiling the wages and calculating it to show the total monthly earning).... the ECO at the time would be really pleased with the application cos you made his/her life easier and I’ve actually learnt from it.

If I had seen this (screenshot) before my last application in 2016, it would have helped my application greatly as my wife was on hourly wages just like you then but now she earns monthly salary. However I will sit down with her to see if we can compile this kind of list for her salaries in the past six months. The fact is yes, she had less salary in one of the months as a result of sickness but she did overtime in the subsequent 2 months after the sick month where she earned higher so combining the extras of the overtime, I believe she will definitely exceed £9300. Or what do you think?

Travel / Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by Minnienellie24: 10:18am On Jan 10, 2018
I was working as a warehouse operative and paid on an hourly basis with premiums and bonuses. i was working 11 hours for 5 days in a week and sometimes I worked 6 days a week and other times 12 hours a day. All these caused the variation in my wages then. When my husband applied for his visa, we designed a spreadsheet detailing my gross income and net income for each month to make it easier for the ECO to view my income at a glance because i submitted 28 payslips which was equivalent to 6 months if i was on salary. I have attached the screenshot of the spreadsheet to this post and I hope this would be helpful.

MreSBee:
Okay. Thanks ma’am. By wages, did you mean you were being paid on an hourly basis? If yes, how much was/is your total annual income as at then? Did it exceed 18600? Finally please explain your own case of “irregular income”.

Sorry for all the questions...

Travel / Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by Minnienellie24: 10:45am On Jan 09, 2018
Hi @MreSBee I dont think that should be a problem at all because my hubby applied with an irregular income too and there was a month that seems short. Though i was on wages then. But I would advise you add a supporting note and also include it in the additionalk information the reason for the discrepancy. Goodluck.

MreSBee:
Hello house, happy new year to you all.... To all that have graduated, best of luck in your new life. To the rest of us waiting for a response or waiting to apply... good luck to us.

It’s the new year, hence I’m getting really close to applying again. So house I have a question as I keep gathering supporting documents. My question is, one month out of the past 6 months we want to use to apply for my application, my wife was sick and spent like 10 days in the hospital... as a result she wasn’t paid for those 10 days so her payslip for that particular month wasn’t the same as the rest of the months. For that particular month, she was short of a few 100 pounds... However, her annual salary still exceeds £18600 required. Please can someone tell me if this payslip can affect my application in any way because I understand that the HO wants to see that your monthly salary when calculated with their figures meets the required 18600. Please gurus in the house, over to you. Thanks

Someone please help me out with this. My spouse says he doesn’t pay bills. He just sends the money to his housemate’s account and the bills leave his housemate’s account. But we can’t ask the housemate for his statement of account, that’s very intrusive. Is it mandatory for him to show the bills payments? I don’t know what to do.

To be on a safe side, I would advise you ask the housemate and explain the need for the receipts or bill statements to him.

Greetings once again house,
Please i need your response so that i can know what to do..
I have a property that am willing to sale to add up the £17,800 that my wife earns per year so as to meet up the required UK levy of £18,600 per year. House pls I need your advice. is this going to be possible or what do you think

Hi @knwuna the other option i am thinking of is if you both can raise between £18k and £20k to cover for the discrepancy in her income. But bear in mind that this has to be saved in either of you's name for 6 months.
If you are wondering how i arrived at the £18, this is the summary.
18600 - 17800 = 800
(800×2.5) + 16000 = 18000.
Also bear in mind that loan is NOT an acceptable route of acquiring you savings.

Hello everyone...

I posted a while ago but got no response...

I have now read through the entire thread, i have bought handouts and the lecturer's textbook and have gone for tutorials; I am now ready to sit the examination and graduate from the School of Spousal Visa grin

Please I still have a number of queries and will really really appreciate your response as I wish to submit my application very soon:

1) For our accommodation, the house we will be living in is my fathers property which he owns outright. I have gotten a letter from my dad stating we can live there, also have utility bills still in my dad's name though. The plan is to transition the bills to our name when we get there. I have previous uk visa applications stating that I stay there. Hope this can fly?

2) It is unlikely that i can get a property inspection report as will require someone to be at the house. The house is currently empty, my husband stays with his friend as it's more convenient for him, instead of living in an empty house. However I can get a description of the house stating the number of rooms, and other details. Can this suffice? The house is fully available for our use

Thank you smiley
