You don't need to do any transaction on your account. Don't let anyone mislead you.

The money in your account is for your tuition fee and maintenance. If you don't need to pay for tuition or your rent, then it is okay for the money to be in your account till you need it. It is perfectly okay for you not to do any transaction. All my children schooled in the UK so I speak from experience.

No implication. I will advise you transact on the account. It the current balance came in through large sum please don’t print that day the money came in, start from the next day. I will still advise you transact on the account while maintaining the required balance. If you don’t want debit, you can credit it with little amount (2k,3k)from family and friends with the 28 days.

I'm getting confused with this thing as some people said one *must* do 3 to 4 times transactions per week on the account one intend to use for the bank statement. I was just offered admission for January 2023. Very surprised. Don't know if I'll still meet up. Right now, their tuition is £11k, but in September, it will be £14k.

Wow, we plenty be that o. Funniest thing, I didn't even update my application because I didn't know I was shortlisted. It was when I received the interview date that I got to know I was shortlisted. I have a separate email I do use for ptdf stuffs cos anytime I use my frequently used email, I won't be shortlisted. To proof my point, I used two emails to start my application this year o (to which I didn't submit either of them) but it was the one I set aside for ptdf stuffs that I was shortlisted on.

Let's wait and see what ptdf have in store for us. This might just be our time

But was shortlisted for last day of May. Later my interview was brought forward to first day on virtual session

1. The chosen course of study matters a lot, I think PTDF has priority courses to sponsor.
Remember you must be recommended a the interview before score ranking .

There is no way u wouldn't see like 10 to 20 recommended in a state. And those are the ones to be ranked .

This is apart from people with long legs. But God is there for us.

Yess. Some people have no experience with Ptdf and some don’t make genuine research about these things. With ptdf you can only PRAY. My mate got this scholarship he doesn’t have any connect and his results are only average. After the interview he thought they won’t shortlist him because of his performance. Guess what? He received the success mail. So if you are destined for it this year no matter how bad your results you are getting it. There is no formula with ptdf.

I kid you not o. In fact, I was very surprised that I was shortlisted for this year's interview because I didn't apply. I started my application though, but I neglected it because the manuscript I was fighting for to be published couldn't be published before the application deadline. So I decided not to submit my application. I was thinking that what is the essence of submitting the same thing that I've been doing over the years without winning. The funniest thing is, my interviewer didn't even ask for any publication from me and when I asked him about publication, he said publication is no more relevant. I was very surprised.

And again, I noticed that anytime I pick an MSc course that is different from what I studied during my BSc, I won't be shortlisted for interview either for GFM/C or UK. Ptdf get mystery o. They know what they want. We only pray for favor and hope for the best.

In fact I know one stake holder that got 10 slots last year.. if he decides to share it all to people from his state tell me how someone with 100% marks is going to get shortlisted? That means only his candidates are going from that state.

So the issue of marks should be less of your worries. Lol
Even to that.. ask whoever you want to ask from ptdf admin.. recommendation by panelists is the most important selection criteria when it comes to merit selection. If you want get 80% of the marks someone with 50% and recommendation by his interview panel is going ahead of you.

You're right though, it's not just about what your score is. Like we've all agreed on here, there are way too many variables involved in the process. As to your comment about LGs, I too was curious about why they included it on the shortlist and I mean no one can say for certain but it's unlikely it plays a role in the final selection. There are so many LGs in every state to begin with, they can't just pick certain LGs and say they have to select candidates from there at the expense of better candidates from less prominent LGs. Just my two cents.

Based on the shortlisted list, I noticed that FGM selection is very low as that of UK for both MSC and PhD. It slaps really hard o.

Anyway, my state has 30 names for FGM MSc while there are 111 names for UK MSc. For PhD list, my state has 6 names for FGM, while there are 29 names for UK. The disparity is just too much.

And again guys, I'd like to point out that in as much as we are competing from scholars from our respective states, we should focus on scholars from our local governments as well cos it matters. As far as I'm aware, there's competition b/w people that are from the same LG's as you cos it is a determinant in selection for the award because they want every LG to be represented.

Take for instance, a LG of a state having just 2 people will be less competitive than a LG of the same state having 7 -12 people.

If you are not seeing yourself as the best in your LG, then you are out of this race already. Also, not all LG will have representative.

As far as ptdf is concerned, they consider LG for the awardee list. I don't know about other Country scholarships o, I only know of ptdf. I don't want to argue, I keep saying this.

Go and check last year successful list , it's only state included . LGA only included in interview shortlist.

Even for lagos state scholarship that I know of, there is LG factor. A guy once said to me that he won lagos scholarship because he was from a particular LG even though he didn't meet up with the cut-off mark. On getting to the office where he wanted to do his documentation, he was told by the officials that there are 2 people from his LG needed to complete the total list and he was lucky to be among.

As in ehn, no be small lucky for dem lucky o. It will be so easy for them to win it cos they are very few.

I am very sure you would have loved to choose F/G/M, especially for your PhD.

Note that UK and FGM have the same number of slots. Those PhD guys that choose are lucky. 3 people out of 6 will win. That is even if all the 6 participate in the interview. Imagine if only 3 people attend the interview. That is 3 automatic slots irrespective of their performance.

Masters have 5 winners while PhD have 3 winners in each for both UK and F/G/M respectively.

But just take a look at the previous lists whether you will see the same people from the same LG from a particular state that won it the same year. No two or three people that won the scholarship for a particular year are from the same LGs. That's a fact.

Do you think, ptdf don't know what they are doing by including the local governments? . They could have just written only the states and neglect the LGs na, is as simple as that. But for the fact that they are including the LGs, there is a point ptdf is trying to prove. But then, what do I know?
