PoliticsRe: Negative Campaigning In Nigeria. by MIO93(m): 8:36am On Mar 20, 2015
Vivly:
I just finished watching Network news on NTA and I saw a PDP commercial. It started with a video of 'Buhari as a former dictator' to a slogan' A dictator is always a dictator' and finally, vote for Goodluck Jonathan- Always a civilian.
This is just one out of several.

This is so wrong. The rule of thumb states 'Never ever use negative campaign tactics. Instead of opponents to focus on what they've achieved or failed to achieve, they channel their energy to showing us the supposed shortcomings of the other person.
I think we all know who the real culprits of this negative campaigning are, and honestly, they are encouraging poor voters turnout, creating a worse image of themselves, increasing indifference and possible election violence.

In Civilized countries, even the incumbent would have been sued for slander and libel.
Please learn to campaign by showing us your proposed manifestoes and stop telling us Military rule is a bad thing or that someone from another religion shouldn't rule because from all indications, Nigeria had the best years during the military era and besides, who says ours is the superior religion?
Which rule of the thumb is that? I guess you made that up yourself. What you are to describe is called Negative Ads, usually done to discredit the candidature of one political enemy, it can either be a false propaganda or an allegation levelled against the person which a some autumn of truth in it, if it is false the affected person can sue the opponent that sponsored its airing for either libel or slander, defamation of character and so on. Its practise exist even within the political system of the united state. Make you research.
EducationThe Rejection Of The Centenary Note In Some Part Of Ibadan by MIO93(op):
It has been observed that some sets of misinformed individuals are rejecting the new 100 notes recently put in circulation by the Nigerian government to celebrate the centenary anniversary of the nation, The reason for these I don't knw yet. I witnessed one myself today as I was on my way to Mokola,Ibadan. A passenger in the cab I boarded plainly and clearly rejected the note as a change from the driver, and I think this is possibly because she has never seen the note before and she could not trust the driver wether it is original or fake, another passenger sitting right beside also warned the driver not to even think of giving her the note as a change because she will reject it as well and she appeared to be a young lady probably in her early twenties +a lil bit Behind, on why she would refuse the note I don't know, the driver later gave the note to me as change and asked in yoruba that 'abi eyi na o ni gba ni?' Ofcourse I will and I did. Recommendation though: I think the government needs to put in more effort in enlightening the masses as regards the notes, perhaps more of public awareness and radio broadcasts in native languages to tell traders especially market women more about the note and the need not to reject it. This is how the total rejection of coins started too. You as a person should enlighten a soul too, don't wait till it gets to your turn before you take it to be your duty as Nigerian. Just imagine yourself trying to pay a bike with the centenary note as the last change on you what will you do if he should reject the money?
My first post on NL tho, hope this make frontpage. If it does, be expecting my piece on the oyo guber race soooonest.

Many people might not know this, but he has a son. I had to create this thread to correct some wrong insinuations.

Below are some comments made earlier today by some Nairalanders.

Well, sorry to bust your bubbles, he has a male child

Rexyl:
the state election will be very interesting, as the State is already shared among the key players... Ajimobi, Akala, Ladoja, Makinde and Folarin.

Sit down and look as the events unfold. It's going to be interesting. we gonna see the house of varieties.
Can you please remove both Tessy and Seyi Makinde name from the list, this guys are not relevant in the coming election at all. Tessy is just enjoying the glory and popularity of the PDP while Makinde is mr money bag. Mark my words, these guys are coming 4th and 5th respectively gbabeeem

wolexino:
it's so obvious Ladoja is winning this election what happened to akala the last time will repeat itself after spending so much money buying people's vote he was defeated by ajimobi abeg akala should just go and sit down in ogbomosho
Awon gerontocrats oshii, it is indeed Ladoja cause you already said so and that means a vote by you alone will amount to a hundred thousand votes. Ewo enu ehhh

The spirit pushing Akala is that called agbana in Yoruba land. He knows quite well he wont even win his local government. The race is clearly between Ladoja and Ajimobi
Well said, you just wait and see the outcome of the election. I promise u ll be shocked. Are you from Oyo state? If yes, I don't think you re that conscious of the political enviroment here. If no, you just sit down, watch and don't poke ur tiny ass nose into shiit u don't know. I'm not advocating for Akala tho but I'm a labour party member and I knw and belief that we will surely form the next government in Oyo state.
EducationRe: Top 10 Worst Degrees With Lowest Potential For Employment In Nigeria Today by MIO93(m): 10:01pm On Jan 02, 2015
I don't seem to understand why people just take their to make others feel uncomfortable. Why will you just sit down somewhere and start accessing courses like you are the one dashing out employment now. It is sickening how you make some of us studying these courses feel like we are wasting our time studying them. I study philosophy and I love it, one more thing, you cannot tell me my future. Moreso this days don't expect only your certificate to put food on your table, man you have to be creative to survive in this harsh enviroment.
