please I know that they don't pay school fees in Germany. But I want to know like how much will it cost me to go for studienkolleg, from application, visa, accommodation, flight ticket, and the exact amount to fund a blocked account

For residence permit, you will still show the confirmation of your BA or proof of finance applicable. For extension of residence permit after one year of study, you will need to show another blocked acct though it depends on each city, some will ask for half of the normal BA. In a city like Hannover, Hannover gives 2 years residence permit straight up, meaning you dont have to show any proof of finance for the second year till you finish your Msc study. But for a city like Gottingen, they issue 1 year RP, so for the second year, you have to show another proof. For the extension of Residence permit, e.g after your studies, and you want to extend residence permit for job search (18 months), you will need to block your account again with euros or proof of employment or other proofs applicable!! The amount requested or proofs of finance needed depends on the city/town. For extension of RP if the program last longer than normal which is unusual, you will need to show proof of finance or BA that covers the remaining period of the program. I hope all these helps, I don answer questions Wey you noh ask sef smiley
is there no longer residents permit, that means if some one wants to read medicine he will renew his paper about 6-8 times in some cities

I saw something here that helped me I would also love to share

It's for newbies Tho

Instead of asking stale questions Go to part 3 and read the last 50 pages I believe you go dey alright

This thread needs more people already in DE to help us out in terms of life there, what to look out for, accommodation tips, Job tips and more of hook ups and so on I believe every normal person here that can read and understand who can overcome laziness too shouldn't be asking some irrelevant questions again just go through those pages

I am suggesting that these basic procedures from admission application to porting should be written down step by step and posted at the beginning of each page for clarity swiftness

Please this is a no-brainer. Dont pay any agent for anything...
Correct me if need be though

ANY ANSU STUDENT HERE? LET'S HOOK UP
please I would have loved to see this, but when I checked the link of thread 4 which is at the beginning of this trend they said it was locked that I should go back. pls is there any other way I can get to thread 3?

They are probably right. I came here through family reunion visa NOT language visa..

Wow that's great. Please just try to notify me when you will be writing on life in studienkolleg. I'm highly interested

I plan to do this once I'm done with Studienkolleg. There's a lot to write about it. I will do that once I'm done. I will be done by April smiley..

But I think I can shortly write about the procedure:

Please note that I'm not on student visa and I did my language course here in Germany from A1 to B2 before applying to Studienkolleg. B2 is better if you intend to attend Studienkolleg cause the entrance exam is B2/C1 Standard. Some Studienkollegs accept B1.

In my opinion B1 is not enough to pass the German entrance exam.

If you have your language certificate that's when you can now apply to any Studienkolleg of your choice. It's good to apply to many so you write multiple entrance exams and maybe you might be lucky to get into one.

You are not allowed to work while in Studienkolleg on student visa. You are only allowed to work during holidays....

Don't expect Studienkolleg to make you to be perfect in German. It doesn't!.

please I've been thinking on this area, that's coming to Germany to take a language course then after which remain for studienkolleg, from there enter the university. But some bloggers said that language course visa cannot be renewed, that the only way I can do that is after the language course, I'll come back to Nigeria then apply for studienkolleg, then get a student visa which I can convert to residents permit. Please I need understanding in this aspect.

I can only answer these questions based on my experience. I only replied you cause I'm currently in Studienkolleg and I've seen it's easier to apply for Bsc with 100 level transcript instead of going to Studienkolleg.

It's impossible to get admitted to study medicine in Germany if you are to do your 100 level transcript in Nigeria. Medicine is a highly restricted and regulated course in Germany.

If you really want to study medicine then Studienkolleg is your best bet BUT you must be really smart while in Studienkolleg to get a really high score cause without that you can't study medicine.

Some people go to Studienkolleg with the dream of studying medicine later but before the second semester in Studienkolleg ends, they would have chosen another course to study seeing that their final score won't be enough to study medicine in Germany. And oh you must be really really good in German!!

OK no problem I trust in God and my brain. As for the language I've started learning German at my leisure time using Duolingo and tiny card, so before that 2020 that I'll be applying I also hope to go for Goethe institute in Lagos

Use 100 level transcript..
OK, but if can I do change of course when doing the transcript? For example if I take a course like biochemistry or any medical related course can I change it to medicine?
And secondly If I do a transcript will I start again from 100 level or continue from 200level
Travel / Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 5 by mirabest: 12:11pm On Jan 01, 2019
I really appreciate. I'm planning to go to Germany for B.Sc in 2020, I want to know if to use studienkolleg (preparatory course) or university 100 level transcript which you said. But I feel that if I use the studienkolleg I will learn more of the language.
If I use 100 level transcript can I change to another course? Will I start again from 100level or continue from 200level
