ruffneck:I disagree. How do you define 'loss of value'? |
optimusmind:more rightly, impairment is the reduction in recoverable cost as compared with carrying cost. This is more pronounced as carrying cost isn't the same as historical cost.As with definition, with respect to depreciation, 'reduction in value of an asset(total depreciation)'-correct in its own right.Your definition'allocation of cost'-also correct as it deals with methods of depreciation-allocating the depreciation so computed. Lastly, depreciation is more of internal causes of reduction in asset value while impairment considers externalities-either ways, both consider asset loss of value. |
optimusmind:You have made your point-which was worth it.However,it is not nice to end it on "Come and carry your brother"-i consider this very insulting. Professionalism would frown at this. you dont |
to say that candidates marks were a representation of their absolute marks would be tantamount to a misstatement. The results,as released, are subjective-they were product of several adjustments...this happens in all professional exams. The examiners have got so many things to adjust for-on the account of performance and sometimes,on account of questions presented |
OlalekanEdun:Sadly, that appears to b the case.Or do u av a better explanation on why it has no schedule for results release? Bro, the problem will continue in perpetuity if no action is taken to remedy this situation. |
Abdul4trust1:bro, I'm a fan of the ICAN study text. The study pack, I believe, is sufficient to pass the exam.In my opinion, the text is compiled within the framework of the exam. |
from all indications, it wouldn't be wrong to conclude that ICAN isn't sure of the likely date of results release and wouldn't want to state a date that it wouldn't be able to keep. This is because I'm sure ICAN would've considered the need to go public on the date it would release results-it would av considered the danger associated if it defaults. Consequently, I think it is facing alot of technical problems right now.I guess we're on a long thing. |
Uyinosa:on their site? |
u make me laugh...council kini? That's for formality my brother. Why should they sit? must it b every time? In my opinion, sitting should only be constituted when there's a major unusual outcome in results. Even if they must meet, can't it be done without physical contacts? |
gbolahanrasaq:sure, they aren't.Work schedule with November diet around the corner. ..I wonder how they want working students to cope with time management. Yet majority of their students are working class.. |
Diet in diet out, I hate the feeling that ICAN has no plan whatsoever on its results releasing. Imaging students making speculation on the likely date of results release. Public holidays shouldn't be grounds for results delay. With a proper budget, ICAN would have considered the public holiday and be more proactive to build in effectiveness and efficiency in this diet marking and results release process so that results could be released possibly before the holiday, during or just a day following it...I'm seriously disappointed. |
chidivalour:Nothing is easy on earth. What keeps us going is passion to succeed. on other hand,i must admit that all levels vary in difficulty depending on the candidate prior accounting background while some reference should also be paid to individual differences. We all have different capacity as to learning. Hence, you've to study ur sef and make decision that will guarantee success based on ur capacity. |
to be grounded in accounting, I suggest u start from ats1...on completion of the third part, u wil b given a cert AAT...foundation level is just a level towards the 3levels in ACA cert-more superior cert compared to AAT.Consequently, foundation level completion won't qualify u for any cert |
ciggy000:lols...see observations. ..well, it all depends on d mood of the examiners...maybe they're always hapi dat xmas s arnd the corner. ..lmao.. |
get registered as a student. You would need a copy of ur cert and a chartered account to sign the printed form for u.Registration for studentship starts with the payment of 7k excluding bank charge to a designated bank...on payment, proceed online to Register using the pin generated for u by the bank....get the printed form signed by the chartered accountant and submit same at ican office ursef wit relevant docs...I suggest u submit at their head office at Ebutte meta... |
Ssheun:Greetings. ...how did u apply to Adedokun int. school? |
babadudu1:lols..funny character, u r. I can't wish her more than that too....make d family dey relieve from expenses frm her side..that s y i wil support u in ur pursuit of her number.lols... |
babadudu1:She doesn't have a projector but a system, perhaps you could lend her one..lols. |
pls Astute ppl in d ous, my kid sis got an interview on Monday..she's called d no. attached to d msg bt nt reachable. ..pls, has anyone got update from the bearer of the phone number? She wants to know what to expect and what to bring along, if any. |
Rich4god:Only registered students can have access to those materials as u wil need ur reg. no. and ur surname to login to see them. |
tosan200:In my experience, I would say that the packs are sufficient. I advise that you understand each and every topic in d pack as u read through. Make the institute's pathfinder ur companion as u prepare. |
tosan200:sent, check ur mail. |
as regards registration and documents required click on ds link: http://icanig.org/ican/article.php?id=149 ..be reminded that you can only apply for exemption upon registration as a student as u will need ur professional student registration number to apply. Furthermore, u will need to start ur studentship processing now as it takes close to 3wks to get it processed .After which exemption processing takes approximately d same time. I strongly advise u submit it to d nearest ICAN office by ur sef as post office could be slow in ds regard. You cannot pay for exams until have successfully been exempted (that's if u want to apply for exemption). for exemption and related info click. http://icanig.org/ican/article.php?id=43 I suggest u kick start d November diet race now..all d best. |
the exemption covers 7 papers, all d 5 in foundation and 2 from skills levels..and that leaves u with four papers left in d skills level...and finally, 5 from d last level-professional level..I hope ds helps. |
after 4 papers in skills level are passed, you will have just five papers in d final level (professional level) |
adewaleoroge:Professional students registration costs #7,450 (bank charge of #450 inclusive) Exemption costs #53,000(bank charge not inclusive) That's the exemption package for accounting graduates from ICAN accredited institutions. As of last diet, the 4 papers in the skills level will cost 49700..you could write less papers for less fees..2 papers in skills level cost 35,700. |
visit ICAN centre to get first-class answers to ur questions. ICAN has grouped institutions into categories with each grouping offering differing exemption packages to its alumni with respect to ICAN exams. At ICAN centre, u will gain access to d full lists and categories and also check to see where u institute lies. Your exemption package will also be communicated together with d amount to be paid. |
only students that have successfully registered as professional students can have access to login to download packs. Having logged in, one would see all subject packs for professional exams with passwords written against each.Though I have such access, I can't help right now cus I will have to download them. But I could help with d passwords and that was why I wanted to confirm if it's passwords u wanted. |
onyekanonso:firstly, how did u get the downloaded packs without having the passwords? secondly, what you need isn't pack but passwords.. |
mandonnels: miscoe:I don't have that of foundation level. will send u dem as soon as I have them. you r welcome. |
OBFmiss:check ur mail. I have forwarded the four I have. |
I will advise you go directly to submit at ICAN nearest office. That way, it will take max of three weeks to get it processed(it usually takes 2 wks ); for post offices can be extremely slow in dia transaction processing. |
