@pweetiebaby

Another tactic when combing his hair is to distract him. My son doesn't want to even see the comb, so I distract him by giving him the dstv remote(only time he gets to hold it without me screaming No. He's destroyed 3 previous ones).
While he's smiling over his victory,I'm smiling over mine combing the hair.
Of course getting the remote back is another war

[quote author=Akorkor post=65275956]Please ohh senior mama!!! I will like to wean my baby from breastmilk but i dont know where and how to start.

Kindly assist me with any methods that have worked for you in the past or presently.

@zaynie, AlphaHadMaiden, Hunniesuzzie( You don wean?), Jazzjazz, feddy27(How far?), enque( your DD leave your breast easily) ayam jealous of you o, LIftedHands

I started gradually, stopped daytime feeds, then night became wahala. Especially if like me, no grandma t go and drop him at for a while. Get ready to steel yourself, to all manipulative crying. Make sure u feed him well at night before bedtime, if he's started eating normal food try solids like Amala or semo with soup. Then prepare tea or have water at hand for when he wakes. Offer him the substitute, he may refuse, probably start yelling and demanding his right.your job is to refuse o, if u yield he don win be that, becomes harder. My ds first day took the tea and still wanted breast, I no gree, next day threw the cup at me and refused tea, 3rd day offered water and he started beating me dragging my breast with me, 4th day repeat of day 3, 5th day when he woke up and reached for breast, I removed his hand,ds jejely turned and continued sleeping. No more breast since then, now if he wakes he takes water and sleeps back. Most times the night feeding is for comfort especially when they are eating normal food well. Weaned him at 14months, wanted to breastfeed for at least a year.

Good morning mama's,pls come to my rescue my 10 month Ds eyes as been gummying together bringing out white substance when he wakes up and abit red someone said i should go for chloraphenicol eye drop hope he is not too small for it or what else can i use pls.cc All mama's Thanks
Please don't give him the eye drops, you can get penicillin ophthalmic ointment to be applied under the eyelid. It's suitable for babies that should clear it up if it's caused by the harmattan Dust. Also give him vit c, If the discharge reoccurs after a day or two take him to the hospital.
My ds had the same symptoms and after applying the ointment cleared up the next day.

Mamas abeg a friend of mine had VD and serious tear. It was stitched but warm water degenerated the stitches (or so she thought). On going back to the hospital they said there was no need to restitch, that it will heal. Please what can she do to manage her discomfort in the interim, shes about 2 months pp and still in pain

Sabi mamas please help, na my belle they cut so I don't have a clue

zaynie, alphahandmaiden, queensnow, jazzyjazz, giddyperson and all mamas who have experience with this
Just seeing this. I had an episiotomy and my stitches fell out to, I was told it will heal naturally. I was told to keep the area as dry as possible and stay of my feet. Which I did took about 4months pp before it healed completely. But staying of my feet really helped with the pain, cos standing or walking around doing chores aggravates it.

6months 3weeks post partum and AF returned with a vengeance today. I don't think I've had menstrual pain this bad in a very long time. Thought they said menstrual pain stops after childbirth. Abi na lie?
Sometimes AF is heavier and more painful after delivery, I experienced same didn't use to have cramps but started when AF came 6months post partum. But the heavy bleeding and pain stopped after 7 months, my friend's own stopped after 3 months. So just hang in there it will regularise over time.

Good evening mums,
I've been a silent reader on this forum since my son was born in July2016. I have learnt a lot and also enjoyed benefits(na only 3 little Angel diaper I buy for MFA o grin).
I am not a social media person, not on instagram twitter, etc but decided to join nairaland because of this forum and contribute what little I can and not take only. I appreciate all the mama's here for helping me raise a fine son and keeping me sane while doing it.
You mama's rock kiss
