Jobs/Vacancies / How Should I Have Answered This Interviewer's Question? by MisterJeph(m): 8:11am On Nov 29, 2019
Hello Nairalanders.

I attended an interview yesterday, it wasn't my first interview but it was the first time a question caught me off guard. I was always prepared before interviews and do my research on the hiring company. But yesterday, when the interviewer asked me; "are you creative?, (I would have just answered yes, and he would have asked me what creative things I've done) my brain went blank for a second and I started looking for a suitable answer.

Don't get me wrong, I have creative ideas, but have I really done something creative? I can act, write plays, but my guess was the interviewer wanted my answer to be in line with the position I was applying for, so I started fumbling for the right answer, after a while uneasiness began to appear on the face my interviewer, apparently I was wasting too much time on this one question. So I let out only thing bouncing up and down in my mind; "I can act sir, if knowing how to act counts as being creative".

I was applying for a bank job for crying out loud, not auditioning for a movie role. How does acting correlate with banking?

Over to you guys. How should I have done justice to the question?

Phones / If Your Phone Is Doing Any Of These, It Is Time To Change It by MisterJeph(m): 9:45am On Oct 05, 2019
There are two kinds of people in this world- those who are quick to buy the latest devices every 6 to 10 months, and those who are perfectly fine hanging on to their ageing smartphones, so far they work.
Whichever group you belong, let us remind you that this is 2019, therefore, you have absolutely no excuse moving around with a walking dead device as there is enough smartphone for everyone to go round. If your phone is old, broken, or it’s taking the back seat in giving you the best experience, it is definitely time to pick up a new one.
Here are 5 signs it’s time to upgrade your smartphone.

1. If “Sorry, can I charge my phone here or with your power bank?” has become your catchphrase
Having to charge your battery every 30 minutes is enough to make anyone go nuts. If you have applied different tips on how to increase the battery life, and your smartphone battery still runs down before the day ends, then you know there is a problem. Rather than spend money on new batteries and chargers all the time, get yourself a new reliable and trendy smartphone, and drop that title of “King of low battery”.

2. You’re Spiderman’s landlord, as there is a giant spider web on your phone
If your smartphone looks like it has gone five rounds with Floyd Mayweather, then it’s time to change it. Having a cracked screen is the worst, and repairing it can be quite expensive. Before the phone completely outlives its usefulness, its better to upgrade into something better.

3. Your phone takes you back to the ‘80s, anytime you use the camera
Remember the 80s photos- blurry, black and white, absolutely vintage. When you take pictures with your phone and that is the result you get, my brother, my sister, time to change that phone. There are affordable models out there with impressive camera specs, capable of taking clear and crisp photos.

4. You’re always running out of storage
If you constantly have to delete your apps, pictures, and videos to make more storage room, then it’s time for an upgrade. Get yourself a new smartphone that can run faster, lighter, and use less memory.

5. In a race between a tortoise and your phone, the animal would win
Nobody wants to wait around for a smartphone that takes years to respond. Although there are reasons why your phone might slow down, in many cases, the age of the smartphone plays a part, over the Android update, RAM size, and many others. There is a good chance that the operating system on it is old and out of date. Not only will this prevent you from installing apps, it is also a security risk, as smartphone makers often stop releasing security updates for the older operating systems.

CAPSLOCKED:
WELL, THE CHILDREN AFTER RAPTURE WILL LEARN TO LIVE WITH US AND ENJOY LIFE WITHOUT LEARNING ALL THE CRAZY THINGS ABOUT YOUR RELIGION. THEY WON'T BE BOTHERED WITH THE END OF THE WORLD AND THE COMING OF A CERTAIN MESSIAH. TRUST ME, WE'LL BE ENJOYING.

MJBOLT IT SEEMS OUR ONLY WAY TO GET RID OF THESE ANNOYING PEOPLE IS THE RAPTURE, AND I CAN'T WAIT FOR THEM TO LEAVE THIS PLANET FOR US.

And you will definitely enjoy... But only for a short period of time, after which you would wish you were never left behind. But unfortunately, it would be too late by then

Religion / What Will Be The Fate Of A Child Born After Rapture? by MisterJeph(m): 8:26am On Sep 29, 2019
I once asked, this particular question during a Sunday school service at my church, but I found no answer in the answer I was given, as it wasn't detailed and elaborate. I didn't want to push further because we were already well past Sunday school time and should be halfway into the service.

Moving on; According to the Holy scriptures, a child at the age of seven years and below, dead or alive at the time of rapture automatically gains access into the heavenly kingdom. It also pointed out that life on earth continues for about three and half years before the beginning of earth's destruction, a period during which I believe sexual activities would be committed, hence leading to pregnancy in some cases.

Now my question is this; What is the fate of the children born during this period, would grace still cover them even after the harvest had taken place, or would they be born just to perish in the lake of fire?

My network is too slow so i am not able to see the picture clearly but from the comments, i can assure you that the wife was at fault to slap the landlady's husband . The only thing we are wishing the couple is a fabulous life after the pastor has said the court was right to give the footballer the goat that was stolen from the bakery studio.

Crime / Director Commits Suicide In Kogi State After Wife Gave Birth To Triplets by MisterJeph(m): 8:01am On Oct 23, 2017
Tragedy struck in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital when a 53 years old director in the state civil service, Mr Edward Soje, committed suicide by hanging himself after his wife delivered triplet.

Soje, who worked with the Teaching Service Commission (TSC), was said to have become a father after 17 years of marriage when he decided to take his own life. The director, according to family source, had not received salary in the last 11 months when the wife was delivered of the triplet at a private hospital in Abuja.

Sunday Tribune gathered that the lifeless body of Soje was discovered on Thursday hanging in a tree beside Mammy market at the Maigumeri housing the Nigeria Army Command Records, Lokoja. It was further learnt that the deceased left a suicide note in his room before leaving for the place where he hanged himself. The note read, “Psalm 121:3 God will not suffer your foot to move: He that keepeth you will not slumber. Amen. You and the three boys, the God Almighty keep you and prosperous, amen. I love you.” The Ogori born Grade Level 16 officer was said to have been facing many financial challenges before the challenges were climaxed with the birth of the triplet through caesarian operation.

He was among thousands of civil servants being owed between two and 21 months salary arrears by the government. A family source told newsmen that Soje recently sold his only car and a three-bedroom bungalow he was building at Otokiti area of Lokoja in order to meet some of the challenges. The building which was at lintel level was sold by Soje at a giveaway price of N1.5 million in April to meet urgent family needs, adding that his financial woes became compounded when the wife gave birth to a set of triplets through Caesarian operation in a private hospital in Abuja on Oct. 7.

The deceased was said to have stayed with the wife in the hospital and children until October 13, a day before the naming ceremony when he decided to come back to Lokoja.

The source explained that when he got to Lokoja, Soje went approached his bank to collect the remaining N30,000 in his salary account and thereafter informed the bank in writing about his decision to close the account.

He immediately left Lokoja for the hospital in Abuja where he rejoined his wife and handed over the N30,000 money to her, following which the couple was joined by two pastors and few relatives for a brief naming ceremony for the triplets in the hospital.

He later left the hospital on the pretext that he wanted to pick few things from the wife’s apartment in Abuja with a promise to return soon.

However, after many hours, Soje did not return and did not pick any of the many calls made to his telephone line, a development which forced the wife to send somebody to the house to go and ascertain what was happening to him.

The person, on getting to the apartment knocked the door severally but no response and decided to call his telephone number, which was said to be ringing in the apartment.

The person was said to have knocked severally again but no response, this made him seek the assistance of neighbours to force the door open.

The people were said to have been shocked when they saw Soje’s telephone handset placed on a suicide note on the centre table in the sitting room while he was nowhere to be found.

Efforts made to locate him did not yield fruitful result until relations decided to visit hospitals in Lokoja on Friday, when the corpse of Soje was found in the morgue of the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja.

The people were said to have been informed by the management of the hospital that Soje’s corpse was brought in by the police who found it dangling on a tree.

Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), William Aya, said that the dangling body of Soje was found on a tree behind the barracks.

Aya said that the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Area D division received information about the incident from the military intelligence
