i am really surprised. i was using multilinks internet connection, and then i switched to Starcomms. Starcomms is definitely better than multilinks any time. There was a time when Starcomms suffered in quality, but now it is quite fast. infact all my colleagues have switched to Starcomms now - they have a very good offer on their Internet cards for the laptops. You actually get it free if you subscriber for 3 months. |
What is wrong with Multilinks? the quality of their network is so lousy. so many dropped calls. and their coverage is also very bad, especially inside buildings. i am seriously thinking of dropping multilinks and taking a starcomms line. my friends who recently took up starcomms are very happy, and they also do not charge access fees (multilinks just chops money every day & and their office is so crowded). i also saw the new range of starcomms mobiles they launched in Jan 2006- really cool. really tempted to buy one. i am also finding it difficult to get Multilinks cards easily, especially during weekends. |
i just want to respond to 'Diakim' and his comments on the credit eating by Starcomms. i have been using Starcomms and also 2 other GSM services. the issue he mentions is actually the Valididy period which is linked to the airtime you load. if you are a very low user then you will face this problem. and this is common to all operators. the trick is to always keep your validity open by loading airtime regularly. this is how i manage my 3 lines. I also try to accumulate validity which in the case of Vmobile and starcomms is upto 90 days max. this is normal practice around the world, and this is how networks protect themselves from free-loaders who just subscribe to the network to only receive calls and spend their time flashing people, without actually spending much money. These customers are not viable for operators, and hence the validity policies followed by all operators. i am very happy with starcomms, especially since i get to save a lot of money due to their good tariff plans. their quality is also quite good and i have not faced any problems till date (1 year usage till now). |
