If $20,000 can give them quality education in America, then N20,000 naira too should be able to give super-quality education in Nigeria too. The problem is not the amount, the problem is that successive Nigerian governments have continuously destroyed our economy and bastardized our currency since independence. There was a time our naira was stronger than the dollar, and equivalent to the pound. But today, the dollar is over 300 times the naira’s worth. Imagine if Americans are averagely spending over half-a-million dollars as tuition per year, they would have had another civil war because of it and removed the government from power for that. Do you know the first American civil war that led to their independence from Britain was because the British monarchy imposed a tax on tea. Because of “ordinary” tax on tea, Americans fought a civil war against the British and got their independence. How much worse do you think Americans will do if they had to pay over $500,000 per year because of a fake excuse “quality education”? They will have Armageddon against their government, not just civil war . Why should Nigerians be forced to pay over half-millions of naira in Nigeria to have quality education. Something is definitely wrong. If Americans are paying $20k for quality education and Europeans are paying €20k for quality education, and South Africans are paying 20k rands for quality education, then Nigerians too must be able to pay N20k for quality education. Or are we less human than them?
