BBC never accused Ahmed Issa of sexual abuse but for slapping someone around his premises. I know Issa once confessed to being promiscuous when he was much younger. This case is a lesson for everyone
Konquest: @Moblux, I deeply appreciate the deeper insights you gave right here. More folks and school kids have to know these advanced historical specifics (that have been in existence for years) in UPDATED curricula of school history books instead of those "elementary Oduduwa and Ife stories" we learned decades ago from Social Studies books. What I know today about Ufe (Ife) was learned from other advanced historical sources.
Since the early 1990s (1991), I noticed all kinds of irresponsible non-Yorubas twisting Yoruba history while churning out highly misleading online articles and bogus videos on YouTube claiming falsely and delusionally that Ufe (Ile Ife) and Yorubas originate from their area. As of 2005 and even much later, the Palace of Oba Frederick Akinruntan, Olugbo of Ugbo Kingdom in the oil-and-gas rich Ilajeland, in Ondo State had to issue a strong press releases warning the Ibos to desist from referring to the Ugbos (who are originally autochtonous to modern-day Ile Ife) and Ibos (Igbos) as the same people.
Enjoy the rest of the day and have a fabulous year ahead!
Thanks for that. My interest has always been the pre-Oduduwa era of the kingdom of Ufe. I opened a thread about it sometimes ago on nairaland hoping to see people with facts to come forward. Luckily enough I stumbled on the books by Prof. Banji Akintoye, Prof Toyin Falola and some other scholars that shed light on prehistoric era. A section of Igbo (especially part of Anambra) is actually of Ufe Origin. Have you wondered why they have Oba, Ora and Oko in Anambra. Is that just per chance or something to decode? Those three words: Oba, Ora and Oko are central to prehistoric Ufe. The assertion of Akinrintan is one of the problems why we have distortions in history. It is just a fight for supremacy. Let us leave it at that.
Indeed, you are correct because I watched the full coronation video and the current Oba Ewuare II of Benin said so on the day of his October 20, 2016 coronation ceremony BUT he merely rehashed the same fabricated story from the Palace about a fictional Ekaladehan who he falsely claimed was Oduduwa. He did NOT deny his royal family paternal lineage came through Oranmiyan in Ile Ife in Osun State and that Oranmiyan was the FIRST ever Oba of Benin after the Ogiso era ended, but he was highly incorrect in stating that Oduduwa was Ekaladehan from the Ogiso era, and that Oranmiyan was Oduduwa's son. [Oranmiyan was Oduduwa's grandson in reality]. This fabrication was invented during the reign of his father Oba Erediauwa of Benin for internal political reasons especially with the Ogiamien family and some other parts of Edo State who were revolting and asking for more recognition and more.
There was indeed NO missing Prince Ekaladehan in the Ogiso era. The Ogiamien family who are directly descended from the Ogiso era have debunked that lie of a missing Prince called Ekaladehan in several media interviews such as in Guardian newspaper in 2018 which you can still read online in the links BELOW and even revealed that the Oba of Benin's paternal lineage is of Yoruba origin from Ife in Osun State via Oranmiyan. A second MAJOR evidence comes from some other Benin folks whose paternal lineage goes to the Ogiso era who have also debunked the Ekaladehan missing Prince falsehood in widely-circulated videos online and even stated that the real Ekaladehan died at Ugboton. These historical fabrications from the Palace of the Oba of Benin and the High Chiefs have lowered them in the eyes of discerning folks who do NOT compromise on facts. The history of Benin Empire, Ile Ife and Oyo Empire are popular internationally and these kinds of fabrications have led to confusions for a lot of people and students searching for genuine historical information online.
Watch the 2 Videos BELOW and read the articles from and about the Ogiamien family:
A third MAJOR evidence which also corroborates the ORIGINAL Ile Ife account of Oduduwa's REAL Yoruba origins comes from the people of Usen in Ovia South West LGA of Edo State who are directly of Ufe (Ife or Uhe) descent and have NEVER denied their Yoruba paternal Origins except the Oba of Benin Palace and both are ancestrally direct cousins. The current Oba of Usen Kingdom is Oba Olu Ogbe II who is a direct descendant of Afelogiyan, who is Oranmiyan's biological older brother. As you already know from my post that you quoted, Oranmiyan (whose real names are Oluaiye) and Afelogiyan his older brother who was the FIRST ruler of Usen were Oduduwa's grandchildren. It was from the Yoruba community of Usen that Oranmiyan left to become the Oba in Benin, but as the current Oba of Benin said in that coronation video, he did NOT stay long. This is why Oranmiyan's biological son given birth to by the daughter of an Egor noble man, Oba Eweka took over from his father. His father then returned to Yorubaland and then founded the Oyo Kingdom which then rose to become the mighty Oyo Empire which stretched from Yorubaland in Nigeria to Togo and Oyo Empire incorporated via conquest the current Nupes and Baribas of Kwara State, the Aja, Ewe and Fon peoples of Benin Republic and Togo.
Just as I stated in my original post that you quoted, Oduduwa originally came from the hilly and mountainous Oke Ora just 8 miles away from the current Ile Ife in the same Osun State, and this is the reason why based off of Ufe (Ife) customs and traditions, every Oba (or Ooni of Ife) has to go to Oke Ora as part of the coronation rites. The ancestors of the people you call Yorubas today have lived in autochtonous communities in Yorubaland for thousands of years, long before even Oduduwa was born, so, it's a well-known fact in Ife that the Oduduwa Dynasty is the 3rd dynasty. There are 2 other ruling dynasties that existed in what is now Ife before Oduduwa came. These past Kings were defied as part of the 201 Gods or Deities in Ife.
The current Olugbo of Ugbo Kingdom (HRM Oba Frederick Akinruntan) in the oil and gas-rich Ilaje area of Ondo State did clarify in 2004 that his ancestors were the ones originally occupying what is now Ile Ife before Oduduwa arrived BUT in order to avoid further bloodshed, Ifa divination instructed that his ancestors should relocate to another area. This is a well-known fact of history even in Ife inner circles. The previous Alaafin of Oyo Kingdom also confirmed it.So, Oduduwa himself was NOT the direct ancestor of all Yorubas but he is just one of the ancestors. I hope you understand clearly now. Also, you can read the books and articles especially from 2004 of the great historians Professor Jide Osuntokun (Nigeria’s former Ambassador to Germany) and Professor Banji Akintoye who also CLEARLY stated that based on archeological evidence, autochtonous communities existed in Yorubaland long before Oduduwa was born and Prof. Jide Osuntokun did state that Oduduwa ONLY represents the ancestor or progenitor of the current line of the great Kings (Obas) of paternal Yoruba descent from Nigeria to Togo
You are very correct 👌. The remotest of the rulers of the first dynasty is Àjà. He is believed to be the ancestor of Oramfe and Jio. Odùduwà descended from Oramfe just like Idu, the ancestors the Binis.
Why would Binis talk about the sky-rulers or sky- god-rulers and the ancient Ufe would talk about Àjà- lọ́run? Àjà was ruler and a priest or mediator who dwelt on very lofty abode like mountain according to Ife sources. His descendants were powerful men and two stood out, Oramfe (the one that cracks and scatter with fire) and Jìó (that invented a big light ball called òṣùpá Jio that light up the community). Unfortunately, nothing much about Idu except that he migrated out and founded Idu now Bini and his descendants ruled as Ogisos before Oranmiyan got there on the instructions of Ufe.
To whom it may concern, the igbo nation is blessed and respectful to all who are humble. It's easy to predict, that it will be free from Nigerian islamics enslavement, genocide tribes, useless criminality, and general backwardness.
mumu op, Na for your mind wey onitsha get igbo doubt.
May God continue to bless Onitsha and the great igbo tribe.
You are just ignorant. I didn't say the whole Igbo people. Take it up with the Obi of Onitsha that said that on a live television
Even 0.1mm of igbo parts of kogi will not be left behind.
If you refer to those on the bank of Niger River as Igbo, they are actually of Yoruba descent from Ufe now Ife just like the throne of Onitsha. Obi of Onitsha affirms that last year, 2024. Just Google it.
Doylestown92: In no particular order. As a Yoruba man from Kogi, I noticed there's less discussion about the Okun people. So I made this compilation of famous Okun people. We're one Yoruba people, this is not a competition against any other subgroup. Also, none Yoruba people should keep off, this thread is not for disunity, but just one more glory of the Yoruba people.

Why didn't Ajakaiye tell us about Iyiola's efforts during Otoge movement he co- championed that ushered in A.A. Kwara Central cannot be allowed to produce the next governor, it is the turn of Kwara South. If Kwara North is interested, let them also fight for it
Righteousness2: "Thinking they were wise, they became Foolish"
Dey speak nonsense Grammar. Dont live according to the GOD'S Word.
GOD is no respecter of Persons. Just like you and i, Jimmy carter and every human are mere Dust.
If you standing for JESUS Christ! You boldly stand for HIM. There are no middle Grounds. This is why many of you who claim to be so called christians are neither here nor there.
You better Wake up and quit Deceiving yourself before you Deceivce yourself to the lake of Fire. If you wanna stand with GOD! You stand Firmly . If you Dont want to! You are out.
I am not suprised of the manner your responses to issues. I guess you are limited to the exposure you have about Christ Jesus, his teachings and what he stands for. You can't be judgemental posthumously on Carter, I still maintain. After, all we are all awaiting Christ's coming, who will judge both the living and the dead.
Righteousness2: Condolences to His Family. The End of an Era.
I just Hope he repented from from his stance with Hamas / Palestine TERRORISTS and made Genuie Peace with JESUS CHRIST before he left this sinking world.
BELIEVING and SURRENDERING to the LORD JESUS CHRIST is what really Matters. Because it does not Matter who you are, Your age, Position or appointment on Earth, or Whatever.
If you Depart this World Without JESUS CHRIST! YOU Have WASTED your life
He was more a sturdy Christian than you probably think... judging people of their eternity based on policies they made could be judgmental. Don't judge so that you won't be judged.
Jimmy Carter's Christian faith has been a cornerstone of his life and work. A lifelong Southern Baptist, he began teaching Sunday School in Plains, Georgia, where he emphasized compassion and service. His literary contributions include several significant works on faith:
-Living Faith (1997): A spiritual autobiography detailing his faith journey and its impact on his life and presidency.
- Sources of Strength (1997): Meditations on Scripture that reflect his biblical teachings.
- Our Endangered Values (2005): Discusses the intersection of faith and politics, winning a Grammy for best spoken-word album.
- A Call to Action (2014): Advocates for women's rights within a religious context.
- Faith: A Journey for All (2018): Explores the broader meaning of faith in contemporary society.
This was the man your sought to pass judgement on as if you are the one to sit at the bema seat of judgement.
These lots were big on every tragedy prior 2015. They were seen as formidable opposition. As BAT was churning out lashes at every given opportunity so also LM. In fact, the choice of LM as information minister was because he takes advantage of every mistep and happening around the then ruling party to whiplash it ferociously.
Is now time to silence others trying to use the same template?
Lest I forgot to mention. Abba Moro is walking free...in fact, he is there at the red chamber. Money was collected in the name of recruitment, stampede happened across Nigeria where applicantsgathered. BAT spoke, so also LM. That was 2013.
In 2024, a Naomi and one Hamzat wanted to do give away, sadly stampede happened and they are remanded in Agodi prison.
Are those who organised the Anambra and the Maitama giveaways in custody as well, yet?
The tragedies indicate there is a extreme multidimensional poverty in the land. The people are also wicked and selfish pushing each other in order to beat others to it in collection of palliative. I was made to understand that parents were throwing their children over fence to secure a spot.
The one who guards his mouth [thinking before he speaks] protects his life; The one who opens his lips wide [and chatters without thinking] comes to ruin.
