Lukuluku69: So, who wrote the Book of Hebrews?
And talking about Jethro, was he also without father..no beginning and no end like Melchizedek? The author of the book of Hebrews is debatable but new scholarship has suggested Priscilla the wife of Aquila as the author based on research...If you check very well, it's the only epistle without a named author. Melchizedek was only typified in the book of Hebrews. While it is suggested that he has no linage is because Abraham had never met him before but he was king of Salem which is a known location later. It was his dressing that gave him away as a priest and king. Don't forget that Abraham was product of Mesopotamia culture. He should know by paraphernalia and dressing what a priest should look like and as much a king. |

Lukuluku69: Paul's wrong notion about him (Melchizedek) will confuse you more.
Melchizedek was first mentioned in the Bible in connection to Abraham. Over 3,000 years later Paul "exhumed" him by mentioning him again
Why? Paul didn't mention him anywhere in his writings. If you are referring to Hebrews, Paul didn't write the book of Hebrews. Like Melchizedek, like Ọ̀rúnmìlà or Jethro the Medianite |

Most Schools in the Eastern Region closed during the period if the war from 1967 to 1970. CKC was even turned into a temporary Biafran military base in 1967.
If Odili returned to CKC after the war to complete his education, then theres every chance that Obi met him
The fact many Nigerians dont know that the civil war delayed the educational progress of all those who were in school in 1967 in the Eastern Region is shocking He completed his WAEC and did HSC which is the A'level or 6th form |

MORE CLARITY ON PETER ODILI AND OBI AT CKC
Dr PETER ODILI was senior prefect CKC 1967 but he and his mates could not write their O'Levels in 1967 because of the outbreak of the Civil war.
Dr Peter ODILI finally wrote his O'levels in 1971 in CKC after the civil war, and he spent another year for his A'Levels (HSC).
Peter ODILI was a legendary footballer in CKC . PETER OBI met Peter ODILI as a class 1 junior student while ODILI was in his upper 6th form. ODILI was in CKC 1962-67 then 71-72 .
Dr. Peter Odili was my Senior Boy in Secondary School. We couldn’t have played football in CKC without Odili. Any day he is not in the match we’ve lost, so we know.
I have people in Rivers state that went to school with me, some people nobody have seen people who went to school with them. So we must say this,” he added.
So PETER OBI is right . Peter ODILI was his senior they likely did not play together but the we was about CKC the school. Peter ODILI was CKC 's talisman on the football pitch. |

duro4chang: HISTORY OF OMUPO
According to tradition, the early settlers in the town migrated from Ile-Ife, the source of Yoruba nation. The founder was Ikuojenrola Adebari Alomole, the surviving son of Awogbola Olomu Aperan, an Ifá priest and renowned herbalist with metaphysical powers. Olomu Aperan, the progenitor, was a prince from Obadio royal family, one of the eight autonomous monarchs met in Ile-Ife by Oduduwa – the progenitor of Yoruba race. Olomu Aperan's family spread across two big compounds - Akeran and Ogbonji of Ilare Quarters in Ile-Ife. In these compounds, the male children of the family are called Osomu while the female are called Molomu. Over time, his name became corrupted to Olomu, while Aperan was coined from his compound's name - Akeran. Olomu Aperan left home in the early 15th Century to protest his denial to ascend the throne of Obadio because he had lost most members of his immediate family to an epidemic. Efforts to persuade him to stay at home because of his advanced age proved abortive, but he was reminded of the repercussion of his defiance on his traditional burial rites should he die while travelling. The implication was that his children would continue to pay the traditional rites over generations, wherever they might settle. He left with his supporters and, after many years in the wilderness, met Fagbamila Ajagun-nla, the first Orangun of Ila (a direct descendant of Oduduwa and the Head of Igbomina Kingdom) at Igbo Ajagun-Nla and settled with him. During the Bariba war Olomu Aperan, Onikoyi, Olugbon and Aresa were led by Ajagun-nla to fortify Oranmiyan's Army in order to fight the Ibaribas. He also participated in many war expeditions as Orangun's man bearer of Ada Ogbo (a cutlass with mystical powers that showed directions). Because of this, Olomu Aperan became popular with the name as Ologbo or Ologbo-lomono (the mace bearer who knows the way). This is where the name Igbomina was coined.
Migration
After the Bariba war, Ajagun-nla went to a new town called Ila-Yara, but Olomu Aperan remained with Oranmiyan at Oyo Ile. After some time, Olomu Aperan consulted an Ifa oracle, his chief priest was Famuwagun, and it was revealed through Ifa divination that Oyo-Ile would disintegrate. Ifa warned that he should proceed to a new settlement. Wherever he found a plant called oro agogo(botanical bell cactus), would be safe, and he should settle there. When Olomu Aperan was leaving Oyo, he received the blessing of the reigning Alafin who presented him a gift of masquerades called Jenju and Owolewa. Jenju was worn by a deaf and dumb from Oyo. Hence, Olomu Aperan requested for Ogbo cutlass from Orangun to pilot his way to his present settlement Omupo where oro agogowas found. Some of his families were left behind at Oyo till the present time, while moved to other locations in Yorubaland. When Olomu was leaving Ile-Ife, he cut a branch of Omo tree as a souvenir and he used it as working stick. He passed the working stick on to his male child called Kujenrola, the only child that survived him, who planted it at Omupo which made him to be known as Alomoole. Olomu Aperan met some people at Omupo without any central authority but a man popularly known as Ode-Omi (meaning a hunter who resides by the river) appeared as the head. However, because of the mystical powers, military prowess coupled with his Royal background, they accepted the leadership and authority of Olomu Aperan. River Osin serves as the major source of water. Revelation about Fulani Invasion
Famuwagun again consulted Ifa and it was revealed that foreigners (Fulani) would invade Yorubaland from Ilorin, therefore Olomu Aperan was directed to propitiate oro agogowith the blood of a white horse as sacrifice to protect his town from any external attack. The beef of the horse should be eaten in a big wooden bowl (Opon nla) with white pap by the entire populace. This is attested to in Obara and Okanran meji of Odu Ifa (the sixteen Ifa divinations) which goes thus: A d'ifa fun won l'omu Aperan Omo Oba ti n pa won l'esin je Omo oloro agogo Eru n be n'iwaju Eru n be l'eyin Olomu aperan gbo riru ebo o ru O gbo etu atukesu o tu O wa n yin Awo Awo wa n yin Ifa wipe Ifa dee Alase Ebora o o o Awise o Ko ma si Irumole bi Ifa o For this reason, Omupo was never attacked either by the Fulani or by any contending powers during the inter-tribal wars in Yorubaland. Omupo was where warriors took refuge for reinforcement, and also for the enhancement of their weapons, which they soaked in a poisonous juice from the oro-agogo cactus. What's the connection between Omupo and Omu-Aran? Which one is older? |

I remember my uncle coming to take me back to lag, in year 2000 precisely and I remember very well when that bomb blast at Ikeja cantoment happened for days in Lagos.
Now key important things to know is, when my uncle came to take me back to lag it was during third term holidays and I was on my way to primary 2 then but when I got to lag he enrroll me to private school and I was taken back to nursery 3 because baba (me) no Sabi even speak English as at then, and I still remember that very moment very well.
So like how many years of age do you guys think I might be then cuz all the memories are still fresh in my brain so for me to still remember everything then, I am thinking maybe i was 7 or 9 then. I'm so confuse. You must have been born between 1995 and 1997 according to the hint you gave. However I will suggest that: 1. Ask for the hospital you were born and use your mum's name to search for the antenatal record/card 2. Ask your uncles, older cousin, aunts and so on for basic information about the year u were born 3. You may go to the neighborhood where u grew up and try to know those who were born around the time you were born especially, the house your parents lived in before they died. If you are unable to get it...just accept things you can not change |

duro4chang: THE OLDEST KINGDOMS IN NIGERIA
The history of Nigeria could be dated far back before the colonial era. In this period around 900AD, few kingdoms which still survive till now, were in existence then. In this write-up, we will investigate the history of Nigeria, and subsequently infer the oldest kingdom in the country.
HISTORY OF KINGDOMS IN NIGERIA
Evidence of Nigerian kingdoms dates back thousands of years before the country was known of its current name. This was preceeding the colonial rule when the country eventually got independence. Before the British invasion of West Africa, i.e Nigeria’s colonial masters taking control in the late 19th century, many indigenous polities emerged in the country.
The prominent Hausa empire was what is now the northern part of the country. This included states of Kano, Katsina, Zaria, Gombe, and the rest of others which make up the largest kingdom in Nigeria then. The Kanem-Borno empire was what is now Borno and Adamawa states; and the Jukun states of Kwararafa, Kona, Pinduga, and Wukari were other smaller kingdoms which were in the northern part of Nigeria. Others included those of the Igala, Nupe, and Ebira.
Down south, a lot of notable kingdoms existed even till the present time. The Yoruba empires of Ife and Oyo were the occupants of the southwestern region of the country. Edo kingdom of Benin, which is an ancient empire in the country, make up what is now Edo state. The Ibibio-Efik kingdom make up the present day Akwa Ibom and Cross River states. In the delta region of the Niger, the Itsekiri kingdom of Warri, the Ibibio kingdom of Akwa-Cross, and the Ijo (Ijaw) city-states of Nembe, Elem Kalabari, Bonny, and Okrika complements the list of old empires in the country.
Be that as it may, this article provides more information on the oldest kingdoms in Nigeria. Below, we outline the kingdoms and empires that existed first in the country.
THE OLDEST KINGDOM IN NIGERIA
When considering which kingdom or empire is the oldest in Nigeria, one must take a critical look at the history of all the kingdoms in the country. Here is the oldest kingdom in Nigeria, after deducing from the dates each empire in the country came into existence.
Benin Kingdom
The kingdom of Benin is the oldest kingdom in Nigeria. Their dated history which could be traced thousands of years ago made them earn this mark as the most ancient empire in the country.
Far back in the 900s, the Kingdom of Benin began when the Edo people settled in the rainforests of West Africa, which is the present day Edo state. These people were had a sudden rise, as before 1400s they created a wealthy kingdom with a powerful ruler. The Obas were the supreme ruler in the Edo kingdom. They were highly honored and they lived in beautiful palaces decorated with shining brass.
These rulers, the Obas spearheaded the affairs of the kingdom and won more land which eventually made them rise to an empire. The kingdoms in the empire was called Igodomigodo. It was ruled by a series of kings, known as Ogisos (‘rulers of the sky’), which were subject to the Obas. Still on, history has it that around the 1100s, there were struggles for power and the Ogisos lost control of their kingdom.
This resulted to the Edo people seeking for help from their neighbour, the King of Ife. In response to it, the king sent his son Prince Oranmiyan to restore peace to the Benin kingdom. The king of Ife eventually chose his son Eweka to be the first Oba of Benin. Eweka was the first in a long line of Obas, who reached the peak of their power in the 1500s. After his reign, other Obas took over in succession, of which till now the kingdom still have a recognisable Oba as their ruler.
At its came in the 16th and 17th centuries, the Benin or Edo kingdom encompassed parts of southeastern Yorubaland, and the western parts of the present Delta State. But at present, due to regional divisions, the trace of the old Benin kingdom is significant in Edo state of Nigeria. Nonetheless, let’s now peek at other old kingdoms and empires in Nigeria which followed the Bini group.
Other Old Kingdoms in Nigeria
Here are some other ancient empires that were in existence many years ago before the foreigners entry to the country.
Kanem-Borno
The once powerful Borno empire was in existence in 9th century, when Arabic writers in North Africa first noted the kingdom of Kanem, east of Lake Chad. A centralized state was established over the Sao by a pastoral group and ancestors of the Kanuri. The Kanem rulers tried to dominate the areas south and west of Lake Chad and they gain size and populace. The history book has it that around the 12th century, the Kanem-Borno empire had been compelled by attacks from the Sao to move their capital to the region west of Lake Chad, and they gradually lost control of most of the original Kanem. Today, what was once the most powerful empire in Nigeria makes up the Borno and Adamawa states, and some bordering parts of the Lake Chad.
Hausaland
The history of the Hausa kingdom could be dated centuries back when they arrived Northern Region of Nigeria from Mali. The kingdom of Hausa extends beyond the Jos Plateau, up to Niger republic. This empire was an enviable one as it rose to become one of the leading kingdoms as at then. They were very redoubtable because of their strong war force which supersede the neighbouring kingdoms. This prowess made the Hausa to one conquer parts of the Kanem-Borno empire and render the latter in extinction. A number of places—such as Daura, Katsina, Kano, Zaria, Gobir, and, later, Kebbi—each with a walled city, a market centre, and a monarchical system of government make up the Hausa kingdom.
Yoruba and Oyo Empire
The Ife, which is a sovereign kingdom under the Yoruba land, came to existence between the 11th and 15th centuries. Their presence in the forested areas west of the Niger and south of Hausaland made them to be the most powerful kingdom there. Their history is traced to Oduduwa in the ancestral town of Ile Ife in the present day Osun State.
Also, Oyo Empire is closely related to the Ife in the Yoruba empire. They existed since in the 14th century and are found in the savanna to the north of the forest. The Oyo empire was a renown entity in the western part of Nigeria and from the colonial rule down to the present day, they still have a significance. This is not true. Erodotus in his book that he wrote in about 500 BCE mentioned the Atlantis (Ife Kingdom) as one of the 5 existing kingdoms when he travelled the world in his research. |
