"Team Nigeria rose from 6th then fourth to the 2nd position on the medals list! They made a steady climb to the top" reiterates the sports Minister Hon Sunday Dare; who has been slugging it out in Morocco with the Nigerian Dream Team as the All-African Games for 2019 comes to an end!

An excited Sports Minister Sunday Dare drummed for a huge welcome for the Dream team which he agrees showed tremendous skill in face of show much talent and support as abundant in the other teams.

As the Nigerian Team swept in more gold medals in Wrestling, Athletics and Canoeing into their medal basket, Mr Sunday Dare canvassed for a huge welcome for the homeward bound team. This comes in the face of what is looking like Nigerias most successful record breaking outing ever.

The Youth and Sports Minister urged sporting fans to show support for the team as they arrive Nigeria stating that second place in such a highly competative tourney was no ordinary feat. He urged Nigerians to be more involved in future competitions saying the excuse of past poor performances wasnt enough to shun from the country's most uniting youth exercise - sports.

He was very impressed with Tobiloba Amusan the gold winnner sprinter, Anigbata Grace in the women’s triple jump who picked a gold medal, Edem  Offiong and Cecilia Akpan both who beat compatriots Funke Oshonaike and Fatima Bello to pick gold in the women’s table tennis double’s final.

Other four gold medals were won in the weightlifting event, with Olarinoye Adenike winning two gold medals in the women’s 55kg clean and jerk and 55kg events while Amalaha Chika won gold in the women’s 55kg snatch and Appah Emmanuel claimed gold in the men’s 61kg event to mention a few.

Nigeria's Sports Minister Sunday Dare joining Team Nigeria at the Rabbat2019 games in Morroco seemed to have boosted team morale tremendously!

Starting with the Badminton team which closed yesterday with resounding victories; winning two gold medals, 3 silver medals and 3 bronze medals to top the medals table, the soccer team wasn't left out.

Reaching Morroco, HM Sunday Dare, had a one-on-one with all the country's sports representatives. Touching them with uplifting words of encoungment, visiting each camp category and sharing his words of strength and hope. He stated that they represented Africa's Giant and noting short of gold accolades is expected by their loyal fans back home.

First off, after touch down Morroco, his honorable visited the Nigerian female and male soccer teams in their camp at Apesa institut agronomique et veterinaire Hassan - II University Rabat. After a brief talk with the girls, energy levels ran high as the female team filed out against Burkina Faso.

The youth and Sports Minster had shared his conviction to host the U-20 Female World Cup tournament with girls. He said he was going to work assiduously with relevant stakeholders especially the NFF to secure the FIFA hosting rights for World Cup games to be decided on 12th September 2019.

This must have brought some excitement to the Falconets as they flew out to the field vanquishing Burkina Faso and later going on to break a 12 year old jinx by beating Cameroon in a tensed penalty shoot out and winning the tournaments gold medal.

In what is looking like the best outing of all time Nigeria’s Gold haul stands at 22! A splendid feat since 2007. Currently, Nigeria now leads on the Athletics medal scoreboard. Team Nigeria continues to do Nigeria proud said the sports minister to international press present at the event; "we shall leave here as Africa's true champions"

The Youth and Sports Development Ministry will look for innovative ways to generate funds to upgrade Nigeria’s sporting facilities nationwide, including the Moshood Abiola Stadium.

Using the instant messaging platform; Twitter, Sports and Youth Development Minster Sunday Dare pledges to improvise on ways to generate funds for necessary facility upgrade in the Nations Sporting Arenas. This goes in line with his inauguration promise to encourage Public - Private Partnership in Sports.

The Minster who reached young Nigerians via his twitter handle @SundayDareSD added that "All around the world, young people are contributing positively to the development of their communities, demonstrating daily that Youth is not a problem to be solved but a resource that could be harnessed"

Twit Heads who seem to have taken to his informative style of reassurance, used the opportunity to reach him with some of their ideas in the fast changing world of sports.

Governor Amosun explodes at the meeting with House of Assembly and National Assembly members... Boasts about contesting the Senate and emerging the next Senate President, reveals how votes were bought in Ondo & hints on how Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be disgraced before 2019!!!


Hard facts have emerged about the meeting which was held about two days ago at the governor's office between the Governor, his OGHA and NASS members.


It was reliably gathered that the incumbent governor in Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun bragged about his 2019 senatorial ambition where he revealed that he is under severe pressure to contest as the senator representing Ogun Central senatorial district a position which is currently held by Senator Lanre Tejuoso. 


In his words, the governor was quoted as saying " I am under enormous pressure to contest for the Senate seat of my senatorial district. I said to myself, I can't be anything less than a number 3 when I go back to the Senate. I might not contest and I might contest. Even Tejuoso that is seated here might recontest and might not recontest. The same goes for Micky and others here"


These words shocked Senator Tejuoso who was also seated at the meeting according to the source at the meeting. 


The governor also bragged about how votes were bought in the just concluded gubernatorial elections in Ondo state and promised to repeat such feat in the 2019 elections in Ogun State. 


In his words, the governor said " we were just laughing at the likes of Asiwaju when they budgeted N100,000 per polling unit. Unknowingly to them, we brought in N1m per unit. I got the money out from Abuja and we will repeat same in Ogun come 2019. 


I am concerned about just 7 local governments. The 5 in Ogun central, Sagamu and Ado odo ota. I am prepared to spend N1bn in Sagamu, N1bn in Ado odo ota then N2bn in Ogun central. That "Ladi has no brain" in yoruba

The governor was oozing massive confidence at the meeting and revealed that he was aware of underground moves to the camp of Tinubu from within his government. 


The governor said in yoruba to be precise "we are aware of the moves by some of you but if I get to know you have gone public with such moves, you are finished"


The governor hinted about the plans to create crisis for Asiwaju Tinubu in Lagos APC. 


The governor said in his words " Even Lagos will go out of Asiwaju's grip. We will bring in few PDP to decamp to APC and cause them problems (laughter) you don't know anything. You can go ahead and tell them o, I don't care"


None of the house of assembly and National Assembly members uttered a word throughout the meeting as they were all in shock.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) on Tuesday, December 20th, received a total of 140 Nigerian returnees from the Republic of Libya.
A chartered Airbus A330-200 marked 5A- LAT belonging to Libyan Airlines that conveyed the Nigerians arrived the Murtala Muhammad International Airport about 4:30pm and the returnees were received by the National Emergency Management Agency along with other stakeholders at the cargo terminal of the airport. Soon after NEMA taken over the  deportees did news began to flutter around that, Officials of the agency who were in charge of catering and providing government aid packages to the returnees were doing so while demanding that the returnees submit some of their foreign bought items in exchange for their due government provided privilege. Clothes, shoes, and jewelry were amongst items extorted from the bonafide Nigerian citizens by members of NEMA.
One of the returnees who spoke to us said his hand bracelet and wedding ring were sternly taken from him before he could be housed in the facility provided by the government, pending when he would be transported to his home or given a temporary alternative if that doesn’t succeed. A young lady still stranded at the refugee wing of the airport reported that sexual demands were made from her, her current crisis was due to the fact that she refused such advances by the officers of NEMA.
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) facilitated the return of the stranded Nigerians in Libyan under its Assisted Voluntary Return (AVR) scheme while NEMA officials were supposed to receive them on behalf of the Federal Government, provide them with meals and support their movement back home in various states.
Director General of NEMA Alhaji Muhammad Sani Sidi declined to meet with reporters while the Deputy Director Search and Rescue Dr Onimode Bandele have refused to look into the cases angrily shouting at reporters that the agency had other important issues pending.
The 140 returnees were made up of 83 Females and 57 males. Among them were few number of children under 18 years and three medical cases.

It is a known fact that when a man is in trouble or is enjoying financial independence; are the two best times to measure the strength of his character. Someone came up recently with some foreign account numbers, all set in fine graphics and labeling them to Chief Tinubu as the account holder / signatory to every single one of them. The desperation that orchestrated the entire article reminds me of the grasping hand of a drowning man. Who though drowning is not desperate to be saved but desperate to drag anyone especially helpers down into the abyss of their predicament.
The published account number article on nairaland simply tells us that we can publish any account number or sets of numbers, scribble peoples names to it and beckon unto people minding their business to go and write petitions. Tinubu has had his trial! let those who are yet to have there's or are facing theirs, face theirs.
When Tinubu was pulled to the CCT did he point fingers? Knowing fully well that the then government of the day had a few corrupt elements. He faced the music alone.
Just for the record I leave you with the closing statements of the last CCT trial that put a lid to the boring account number publishers such as this recent one.
"No proof of evidence was attached to the amended charge or summary of affidavit evidence. How on earth will the tribunal determine whether a prima facie case has been established against the accused person?

"The amended charge did not adduce evidence that the accused has been operating the foreign accounts by proxies or trustees but that he personally operates the accounts. It is the law that the arguments of counsel no matter how brilliant cannot take the place of pleadings.

In the circumstances, I hold that no prima facie case has been made against the accused person. The non-filling of affidavit evidence affects the entire three-count charge and it is hereby quashed and the accused person is discharged.
