DissTroy:😂😂😂 |
iamoyindamola:Which kind of yeye qwesion be dis? Na red card offense nao. |
izzou:I think starlink is |
BlueRayDick:Yeah , It is capped at 1TB, after which your speed drops to 2 MB/s. MTN FiberX appears to be a better option, Based on user feedback, but dat one can't cover every place in Nigeria, as MTN is just targeting urban areas alone. |
OK, let's wait and see
|
Roland17:It is well, bro. May God comfort and strengthen the family she left behind. |
raumdeuter:Wow, wow wow. These are the kind of educational programs I love to watch, those boys are good both OAU and CU, but I think the guy Quayun is an alien , he shouldn't be paired with human being in order to have a fair chanlege 😂😂😂 I used to follow Cowbell maths quiz competitions for a while, though I’m not sure if they’re still doing it . I remember when some people even argue that the contestants must have seen the questions beforehand, simply because they couldn’t believe anyone could solve problems that quickly. |
BlueRayDick:I completely agree with this highlighted submission 💯. But, I believe this will mainly apply to Lagos or cities where routes are within inner streets and cover relatively short, trekkable distances. I’m sorry to say this, but Lagosians are lazy. To be honest, (Whenever I visit, ) it’s surprising how often I see able-bodied young people pay for such short trips. ( we wouldn’t pay for that in Ogun State. 😂 😂 😂 ) So , I agreed Because of this, commuters in such areas have little choice but to resist fare increases, many keke riders may be forced to stick closer to the old price. In fact, the initial ₦200 fare was already overpaid, yes, grossly overpaid ,so any attempt to increase it will cause katakata. In Ogun State, the situation is quite different. Except for places like Abeokuta and Sagamu (and possibly Ijebu-Ode, though I’m less familiar with the city), most areas where keke operate involve longer distances that are not easily trekkable. So, fares have increase accordingly. Thouhh, I still believe the ₦5000 to ₦50 claim made by that man is over and over and overly exaggerated. Case closed 🔐 😂😂😂 |
YoungB1a:😂 😂 😂 Who does Dat, that is madness . |
izzou: Amoto94:Most of you have misunderstood the key point. Yes, an increase in fuel price can reduce patronage, fewer people may travel, and some may resort to trekking if their destinations are not far. But no driver will leave the park with half-full vehicle. The real question is: how many commuters will actually resort to trekking? That number is relatively small. For instance, can you trek from the mainland to the island? Of course not. This means a large percentage of commuters still have no choice but to use transport. People still go to work, school, and markets. So the idea that a driver operates on ₦5,000 worth of fuel and ends up with just ₦50 profit is just LAMBA of the year. Yes, the number of trips per day may reduce, also your vehicle fuel consumption will also reduce accordingly. For example, if a driver normally makes 12 trips daily and it drops to 8, their total earnings will naturally be lower than when they made 12 trips, but I believe the increase in fares should help compensate for the reduced demand. The only way this argument would make sense is if the driver is consistently operating with half-empty passenger loads from the park on every trip. But realistically, even a mad man would not do that, especially with the current high cost of fuel. |
GloriousGbola:That calculation sounds neat, but you ignore a key factor, transport fares have also increased alongside fuel prices. Why are you people ignoring that fact? Are drivers still charging the old fares? Certainly not. Now, let’s look at this calculations more carefully: Old Price Fuel cost comparison (for 4 litres): Old price: #870 × 4L = #3,480 New price: #1,400 × 4L = #5,600 At the old price: Keke carries 3 passengers at #300 each = #900 per trip Assume 6 trips, #900 × 6 trips = #5,400 Profit : #5,400 − #3,480 = #1,920 ( by 6 trips ) At the new price: Keke carries 3 passengers at #500 each, #1,500 per trip Assume the same 6 trips → #1,500 × 6 = #9,000 Profit: #9,000 − #5,600 = #3,400 ( per 6 trips ) So even with higher fuel costs, increased fares have more gain the the old petrol price. Let me go a bit lower sef. Let assume the transport fares is #400 At the new price (#400 per passenger): Keke carries 3 passengers at #400 each, #1,200 per trip Assume 6 trips, #1,200 × 6 = #7,200 Profit: #7,200 − #5,600 = #1,600 (per 6 trips ) So mathematically the higher the price of fuel in Nigeria the higher the profit for drivers, don't let them bobo you . |
SweetSoup:It all boils down to the same thing, I don’t believe the story. You can’t buy 5k worth of fuel and end up making a profit of just #50. That’s practically impossible. Why is he the only one making such an unbelievable claim? It is odd, that is why it is trending These days, many people fabricate stories or fabricate odd things just to trend. Go on platforms like Twitter or TikTok and you will see plenty of exaggerated or completely madeup stories. Ask that man simple questions: How much was the transport fare before? How much is he charging now? Unless he is still charging the old price, but with Nigerian drivers, that is impossible |
Amigoos1:Thank you jare. Honestly, it’s easy to tell when people are speaking from sentiment rather than logic. That’s exactly my point, once a story aligns with what people already believe, they stop analyzing it and simply accept it without questioning it. These are the questions I’ve asked, but they’ve refused to answer. Q: Is there an increase in fuel price? A: Yes, there is. Q: Has transport fare also increased too? A: Yes it has. It has increased and even in some places, it has even gone up by more than 50%. For example, in my area (Ogun State), from Ilishan to Ikenne used to be #400. Now it’s #700, (that's almost 90% increase)and if you’re lucky to find a considerate okada man, maybe #600. Is transport fare still the same as before in your area? (pls tell us, let us know ooo) So how do we then explain drivers claiming they are running at a loss while also increasing fares and you people accepting that without proper analysis? It doesn’t make sense @ all. That’s where I disagree. If drivers had maintained the old transport fares despite the increase in fuel price, then I would understand the argument that they are running at a loss. But fares have also been increased. Haba we are not zombies nao Now, some people argue that drivers still have other expenses, like vehicle maintenance, installment payments, (for those who buy their vehicle , Okada or Keke in installments plan) But all these things are normal expenses nao, Whether fuel is #100 per litre or #2,000 per litre, you still have to maintain your vehicle, and you still to pay for your instalment plan, the same applies to police daily contributions too and other routine costs. Fuel price increases have nothing to do with those expenses. |
GloriousGbola:Yeah, you are correct about 50% increase, but the fare also has increased nao. |
GloriousGbola:You don change the course of the debate ooo 😂😂😂 Even on our farms, we run diesel 24 hours, (that one no be today oo) but the point of the discussion is about the drivers who claim they lose 5k daily, and the other guy that claimed he made only 50 naira in a whole day. That’s exactly what I believed it can't be true. |
Spy360:I don’t understand why many of you can’t have a simple and civil conversation without showing disrespect to everyone who has an opinion different from yours. Bye, man. |
diggz:Your post is a more balanced submission, but let me explain more to you . Before the recent fuel price increase, let's agree that many transporters were making around 15k to 20k or more in daily profit. Now, if that drops to about 5k to ₦8,k, they tend to see it as a loss, even though they are still earning. That is largely the reason for the complaints, not necessarily because they are operating at a loss, but because they are no longer making what they used to. Most of them also have financial commitments such as daily or weekly contributions (ajo) and installment payments. Despite the rise in fuel prices, many are still able to meet these, obligations, which raises a valid question if they were truly running at a daily loss, where would the money to sustain these commitments come from? So, it’s not entirely accurate to claim they are operating at a loss. Fuel prices did not triple, they increased by roughly 35–40%. At the same time, transport fares have also increased, is transport fare the same?. |
Segedinho:Yes, things are hard. Fuel prices have gone up not only in Nigeria but globally , and many people are struggling. But we should stop exaggerating every story just because it fits our narrative and the circumstances we already have. No rational person will keep running a daily loss business on daily basis and continue like that consistently Critical thinking matters. Not every claim is false, and at the same time, not every claim should be accepted without questioning. How can you go to work on daily basis, and come back with minus 5k, and you still go the following day and continue with that repeatedly? If we turn every story into unquestioned truth, then we become like zombies. |
CrystalTiger:I have seen the video before nao, but you haven't answered the question. The answer I expect from you is either yes or no. |
CrystalTiger:😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 ...and you believe Dat? |
Ebukacute:Yes |
raumdeuter:Am I the only one who thinks Camavinga is overrated? I honestly don’t see anything particularly special in his game. His level, to me, team like Burnley, Fulham, or Wolves. Playing in a star studded team helps his carreer. |
iamoyindamola:Honestly I'm don't know what’s going on with both the men’s and women’s teams right now, this is more than ordinary may be na spiritual matters. If you watch the game yesterday, we should have been at least 2 goals up within the first ten minutes, both chances hit the same bar, though nearly doesn’t kill a bird, but we truly deserved to be comfortably ahead. I didn’t have much issue with Arsenal’s first goal, but that second one was something I can't tolerate. The scorer took a shot from almost the halfway line and it somehow went in. At that point, I just switched over to wrestling, you can't kill me before my time.😂😂😂 |
larride:Adieu Papa, international break is the only time my daddy found football interesting and always looked forward to it. Thou he’s an AC Milan fan, Funny enough, back then it was only NTA showing Serie A, just one or two matches per week. How was that even enjoyable?😂 |
iamoyindamola:Matthew 33 v 77 says: What shall it profit a team, to beat every other teams, and loses in final? 😂 |
🚨 MISSING PERSON 🚨 A certain individual has gone missing since that humbling defeat to Man City. Last seen at exactly 5:29 PM (Nigeria time), just before kickoff between Arsenal and Man City. Since the final whistle, he hasn’t been spotted on this Chelsea thread. It appears he’s completely lost his way back here. If found, please escort him to the nearest EPL stadium, or report him to honourable members of this forum, people like Popi, WhoDeyHause, Fredoo, Unlimited22, etc. A handsome reward awaits whoever successfully returns him. Thank you. Oh, apologies, I almost forgot his name. His name is : The Winner of the FBS Starboy Challenge. 🥇🥇🥇😂 |
Arsenal: we will win quadruple this season Man City: O'Reilly? ![]() 😂 ![]() 😍 😊 😭😭😭😢 |
Gotocourt: ![]() Wetin that one fit do sef? The heat is unbearable and NEPA come add their own |
andrewbaba44:Abeg, stop this |
iamoyindamola, this Carabao Cup isn’t over for Arsenal yet. All you need to do is bring in CAF officials, if anyone can rewrite results after the final whistle, it’s them. ![]() |
