Android22: Seun,
Is it possible to include the level of education received on people's profiles?
English isn't many people's first language on Nairaland. The level of education cannot be used to judge fluency in English, because English is just a language, not a measure of intelligence, even by suggesting this already exposes your weak reasoning. Professors worldwide struggle with English yet excel in science and medicine, while some with polished grammar can’t solve basic problems, so linking education to English fluency is both shallow and exposes ur display of ur knowledge. |

But now , we all saw how e dey go.😂 |

popizaino: Glasner would do a better job than Enzo Maresca at Chelsea if he approaches the job the same way he is currently doing at crystal palace and trust me,the big team factor will count for him by eventually winning big.
Difference is clear as daylight when you watch crystal palace and Chelsea play. The former team don't just pass the ball for the sake of it,they do it with purpose and try to achieve something, while also creating an identity.
Ours is contrary, we just pass for the sake of it and when our opponents block the passing lane we resorts to passing back and sideways, while hoping on some defensive mistakes and individual brilliance from any of players to either create or score goal.
Tbh,i am tired of coaches who don't want to teach us ball but just hoping to win something.
The case of Chelsea team is like that of a student who cram to pass, when there is an distortion,he gets confused and doesn't know what to do. But a student who reads to understand will always never get confused in any situation. You just describe our styles of play and maresca's tactic in one sentence but I don’t like to be the type that calls for managers to be sacked at every struggle, especially young and upcoming coaches who are trying to build a name for themselves, every coach starts out as a rookie before becoming the veterans we celebrate today. If no one gave them a chance, we wouldn’t have the great managers we look up to now. But when we analyze things honestly, we need to admit that many of the trophies being used to defend Maresca were largely decided by individual brilliance rather than tactical input from the coach. Take the Conference Cup, for example. We were already on the verge of losing it until Cole Palmer produced his magic which resulted to two quick goals. Without that moment of individual brilliance, that trophy was gone. Then in the Club World Cup, yes, we showed signs of dominance in the first 10 minutes, but again, it was Palmer who made the decisive difference. That game could have gone either way too, if not for him. So, while many are praising Maresca because of those 2 trophies yes he deserves it, but the reality is those victories rested more on some individual players like Palmer and others, whose individual quality gave us the needed 3 goals. That’s why I fully support the statement highlighted above 💯 . |

BlewMahn: Porto collect red card, dem use anger put am woto woto for their opponent body. 1-0 before red card, 3-0 after red card, 4-0 full time This shows something important, the effect of a red card is more about the psychology of the players than the actual number of men on the pitch. Most times when a player is sent off, teams immediately go defensive. Not because 10 vs 11 is always unplayable, but because the players already believe they are at a disadvantage. The mentality shifts from “we can win” to “let’s just survive.” That mindset is usually the real problem, not just the missing man. This happens often. In many games, you see players who hardly touch the ball or make any impact for 90 minutes. Such a player is already a minus one for the team. On paper it’s 11 vs 11, but in reality it’s 10 vs 11. For example, Lukaku once played a full match with just 7 touches in 90 minutes. That’s basically like playing with 10 men. Yet the team didn’t fall apart, because mentally they still believed it was 11 vs 11. Psychologically, they felt we are complete, But if that same non-contributing player gets a red card, you will see how the team react negatively on the field. It happens all the time, strikers with fewer than 15 touches, wingers who disappear. In those cases, the team is already playing short one, but it doesn’t shake them because their minds don’t accept it. Now compare that with a red card situation. Once the referee givev a red card, the whole mindset changes. Coaches shuffles tactics, players drop deeper, energy levels shift. Instead of attacking, the team start reacting. That’s why we so often see teams defend too much after a red. I believe a red card should not always break a team, what break a team after the red card is the reaction of the coach and that of players, and the mentality they adopt after the card. |
