nani667: Hmm.. So I just saw this in their website.. So the installation cost the engineer was quoting to me was scam..
The Subscription charges are decent, but that installation cost is not necessary sha 😒 I hope na real unlimited and that upto no be way of not giving you the full speed at most times |
Phones › Re: MTN FibreX - Installation, Speed Tests, Availability, And All You Need To Know by morikee: 3:59pm On Apr 09 |
nani667: Yup.. that 30K for 60Mbps is the same amount we are currently paying for 50Mbps on MTN.. I would have gladly jumped on the Airtel if not for the ridiculous installation fee..
Well, at least I know that they are in my Estate now.. whenever MTN decides to hike prices beyond what the masses can afford na to casually transition to the Airtel Fibre..
Or maybe Airtel will wise up and decide to start giving their own router for free.. cos all these Estates and locations that they are going to setup their hardware are places that already have MTN Fibre, nobody will just abandon MTN fiber (that they received for free) and go and pay 35K for installation. They better wise up if they want to compete with MTN on this Fibre matter 😤 Them dey collect installation fees? Be like them no ready |

CuteMaro: Your experience with Airtel can differ based on different factors and from experience it doesn't necessarily have anything to do with how good or bad network is in your area. Go online, almost everywhere there is complaint. It is a very common thing so repeating it isn't generalizing but rather a statement of fact.
I once sold my Starlink because I thought Airtel was a far better deal for my work, however there was a time I was so frustrated I had to buy a second Starlink due to network issues. In fact, when I checked my dm with Airtel reps on Twitter, I noticed that for more than 1yr+ I have been in contact with them complaining of the same issues almost every 2 wks. That's just insane.
That being said, my experience with the ODU so far has been relatively fair, if you can be patient for the 1 or 2 days of downtime then you won't mind, however if your job is such that you can't deal with such then it's not for you, because surely, they will hit u when less expected.
Although the 25k ODU plan is a great deal, it doesn't take away the fact that Airtel is an unreliable network. If you have the option for Mtn FiberX, go for it, that one has less downtimes and a relatively more stable speed throughout the day. Even the FiberX i don dey hear bad experience from some of it users network for this country get as e bei |
