QuoteJust1nce: Don't shift the goal post mate. Yes we know MTN fibre X is asymmetric. The issue is: You said the 1Gbps doesn't even give up to 200Mbps upload and i said that's false with evidence. I didn't shift any goal post i was there at a friend's side when we did the test we got 100+ to 200+ that time even the downlink was around 700+ to 800+ hence the reason why i said so |

Ayomipoe: I swear, it doesn't make sense.
If I am buying fiber, I expect the same speed up and down. Why is our own different? Imagine trying to do a speed test that expects 100mbps up, this means one would have to buy double the plan and there would be no guarantee Exactly everything here is different cus our ISPs are too greedy |

senator282: Waaat!!! 🙆 Not even 400 or 500mbps Nawaa ooo. They're very stingy with bandwidth |
Phones › Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by morikee: 8:59am On Oct 01 |
senator282: It's like they did that thing intentionally,i don't really know the reason because whenever i run speed test on my 100mbps package at midnight just to make sure no load on the server, the download speed is always stable at 99-100mbps but the upload speed will first skyrocket to 120mbps in secs and immediately clip down to 45mbps or 55Mbps. This looks like a systemic cap from MTN. Yes it was intentional they go with asymmetric Even their so called Gigabit Plan you don't even get upto 200mbps on upload |

senator282: Any technology that comes to Nigeria will behave like the country. In other countries fibre network's download and upload speed is the same or slightly very close to the speed numbers, but in Nigeria you get half of the download speed as upload speed. I'm trying to understand the reason behind that like what are they trying to do with the rest of the bandwidth |

georgee: I have been using starlink since 2023 as well and MTN Fibre X is also on my street, but the fear of downtime and bad customer service/responsiveness is what's still making me stay with Starlink.
MTN bad customer service and downtime will humble you oo My Guy has it too but do experience couple of downtimes which can last for days they always tell him they will compensate him but they don't most times |

ibawon: Since joining Starlink since February 2023. I’m dropping them for MTN fibre X for the next couple of months. Starlink really helped when no ISP was up to it. But I’ve been using MTN’s fibre X and they tick all my boxes and more. I wish FibreX is as cheap as Starlink |
