Politics / BREAKING: Osun Monarch, Aromolaran, Dies At 86 by MosakuAW(m): 3:15pm On Sep 12
A first-class Osun State monarch, the Owa-Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran, is dead.

His death was announced in a statement, signed by Asiwaju of Ijesaland, Chief Yinka Fasuyi, obtained by PUNCH Online on Thursday in Osogbo, the state capital.

Before Fasuyi’s confirmation of the monarch’s passage, there was anxiety over the health of Oba Aromolaran, who was said to be indisposed.

Confirming the monarch’s death, Fasuyi, in a tribute that he personally sent to our correspondent, wrote, “An Era Comes To An Abrupt End!

Meanwhile, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has also expressed his deep sorrow over the death of the monarch via his X account on Thursday.

In a statement, Atiku recalled the late monarch’s fatherly warmth, describing him as more than just a father-in-law but a symbol of courage, boldness, and discipline emblematic of the Ijesha people.

PUNCH Online in October 2017 reported that the Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland and Chairman, Osun State Council of Traditional Rulers, clocked 80.

He ascended the throne on February 20, 1982, and spent 42 years on the throne until his demise.

Stop refreshing old news.

This story is over a decade, although alot of lesson is there to be learnt but this is far from recent. We can do better than recycling old news to create fresh fear.

I prayed to play 90minute if possible extra time of 120min and let penalty kick decide. I already have 1 yellow card in the game called "Life" still playing at 46 minutes and I am very careful not to receive 2nd yellow card then turn Red.

This Wike of a man is trying as a Minister. All he is doing with media round and project inspection and completion is to put himself in the faces of the masses for future presidency seat.

He will have been a better president based on his work ethics but his mouth has killed his national political references rather, he will continue to be a regional politician for life. Presidency he can never smell not to talk of VP.

Sometimes the media is the problem in this country. Where did Philip Shuaibu Parallel primaries hold? Who conducted it? Who declared him winner? Which other contestants were there? Was INEC involved?

Now the Media won't ask this kind of questions to be proactive and show that they know their onions. But a portfolio man will just corner a few online media, give them 50k each and voila they produce news!

We should be better than this. I am ashamed of the idiots that handle our media.

You make a great point up there and your analysis where spot on but next time when making comment, please stop quoting the whole paragraph. Just drop your comment. Comment Reader Associations like us don't like stress. Thank you

Nothing is working!

Can we just divide this country into 2. Northern Nigeria and Southern Nigeria or we should go the Niger way....Military should take over.

If we don't do any of this two by year end, people will die of hunger. "Quote this now" and wait till year end.

At what benefit has NIN and BVN to ordinary citizens been?

The major reason for NIN is to culp terrorism and banditry and the the major reason for BVN is to stop corruption. NIN and BVN has done more harm than good. No bandit or corrupted politicians have been arrested and charge through the use of BVN or NIN. This is just waste of money, time and resources.

It's well Nigeria.

Quick question.

Are we naturally good or gifted in all sports, entertainment, education, research, scam, dating, beauty pageant... etc in African? Nigeria takes the lead in almost all activities on the continent called Africa, or our population is helping us in all these?

We are naturally good and gifted as well. All other Africa countries fear to banter us on all social media as well. We are a strong country, we are just unlucky in term of good leadership.

As much as I like the drama going on in River State, this singular act shows this Governor has no balls.

Fight if you want to fight and stop going back and forth. Die today, wake tomorrow. This will surely give Wike more power and he will strike with an upper cut blow soon.

I wish him and his supporters the very best of luck.

APC laying foundation for 2027 election knowing well that Wike is no longer on seat to do their bidding as a governor.

Thank you

If you stated 10days stay in your application and circumstances changed and you ended up using 3weeks. Make sure you have payment of hotel receipts that shows you paid for extra accommodation beyond 10days stated in your application. You can tender this when you renew your visa to show you had more money with you then.

In has much as, the president is ditching out policies left and right every fortnight like Asake realising single. He has not sign any policy that will impact the masses directly.

No doubt he his doing well. He is "Baba rush rush" not "Baba go slow" like Gen Buhari but his policies are yet to alliviate the poor masses. The FG has ought to have partner BRT buses in Lagos and subsidised the transportation fare. They ought to have order all state governments to engaged in mass transportation with subsidised fare to ease movement of goods and services. #Just thinking out loud.

What is all this profiling of governor elect hitting the front page back and back.

The same way Gen Buahri said "I am for nobody, I am for everybody" that everybody shouted the "Messiah" has come, not knowing that "The failure has arrived".

I am very sure Tinubu too, will give us one Lamba on inauguration day.
