BE NOT UNEQUALLY YOKED. COME OUT FROM AMONG THEM


By God's standard, unequal yoke is a taboo.

“ Thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with divers seeds: lest the fruit of thy seed which thou hast sown, and the fruit of thy vineyard, be defiled. Thou shalt not plow with an ox and an ass together. Thou shalt not wear a garment of divers sorts, as of woollen and linen together.”(Deuteronomy 22:9-11).

OK. Let's agree to the beauty in diversity; but there must be a marked difference for the continuation of that beauty: else there'll be no more diversity to admire.

There's a demarcation between light and darkness; and even the White Light is made up of seven clearly differentiated colours, visible when the white light is passed through a rectangular glass block prism.

Trouble starts when you attempt to force all seven into one, disturb the natural order.


So it is everywhere. We can live on the same earth, and work for a common goal: that God may be glorified, but things must be put in perspective; “ Can two walk together, except they be agreed?”(Amos 3:3).

Metals of different types can't be joined together without a problem: different thermal properties and heat capacity, galvanic corrosion.

Now, let's bring this home. The word of God says: “ Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?”(2 Corinthians 6:14).

The apostle is not saying that you cannot or shouldn't live in the same world with them, but that you should be yoked—you should partner deeply, as in marriage, intimate friendship with unbelievers, for it will be equivalent to ploughing “...with an ox and an ass together”(Deuteronomy 22:10).
Mayhem
Imagine keeping a cat and a dog in the same cage—they can live in the same town, but certainly not in the same cage.

If you pull a plough with a yoke of an elephant–a horse–a donkey–a cow–a bull–an ox and an ass, all hemmed about by the same link of yokes, to simultaneously employ them in your labour, you'll end up unleashing mayhem in the fields, for each beast will head it's own way and with it's own force. And your purpose will be defeated.

It is said that birds of a kind flock together— don't force it otherwise: let the birds of a kind flock together. Please. For Jesus' sake.

“ And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.”(2 Corinthians 6:15-18). Amen.

Be healed, in Jesus' Name Amen .

“ And he said, A certain man had two sons: And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.

And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.

And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.

And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.

And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.

And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!

I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.

And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.

But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry: For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.

Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing.

And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.

And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.

And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him.

And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends: But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.

And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.

It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.”(Luke 15:11-32).

Amen.

“...behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.”(ISAIAH 65:17). AMEN.

Tell Jesus to wait no more: tell Him to come into your heart now. “ Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”(Revelation 3:20). Amen.

“ And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward. ”(Matthew 10:42). Amen.

It's a command from the Lord Jesus Christ; SWEAR NOT!
“ Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths: But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God’s throne: Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King. Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black. But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.”(Matthew 5:33-37). Amen.

This is one of the instances where you don't engage with the tempter: you don't argue, or explain; you don't negotiate, or discuss; you just run! 🏃; flee!🏃🏽‍♀️ “ Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.”(1 Corinthians 6:18). Amen.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. May God bring judgement on every sabbotuor.

Just be yourself.

“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.”(Ephesians 4:29). Amen.

“ Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.”(John 13:1). Amen.

God, giving His Son to die for us is the biggest investment that He will ever do.

This is the effect of a society that has exalted barbarism above civility, and has praised folly instead of wisdom. And of course, it's because they have rejected “...Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.”(1 Corinthians 1:24).

“ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. ... This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.”(Luke 4:18,19,21). In Jesus' Name. Amen.

“... mercy rejoiceth against judgment.”(James 2:13). Amen.

Amen. Today. In Jesus' Name. “ And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.”(Isaiah 10:27). Amen.

Nigeria, a land made for greatness.

A land that had produced great, really great men and women.

A land with exceptional history.

A land of “... mingled people... and ... in league...(Ezekiel 30:5).

Seeing God's original plan for the peoples of Nigeria, my prayer for our country Nigeria is the same in her National anthems:


O God of creation, direct our noble cause

Guide our Leaders right, help our youths the truth to know

In love and honesty to grow

And living just and true

Great lofty heights attain to build a nation where peace and justice shall reign.


O God of all creation, grant this our one request
Help us to build a nation where no man is oppressed
And so with peace and plenty, Nigeria may be blessed.

Which God? The God who created some to rule and subdue and multiply and be blessed, or the one who enslaved Adam and Eve in ignorance with a lie?

Or is it the same God who did both?

God, the Creator had a will: they should have stuck to that and all will be well. “ For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”(Jeremiah 29:11).


“ Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

Once the fate of man was decided in a Garden, Eden. (Genesis 3:6).

Once again the fate of man was decided in a Garden, Gethsemane.(Luke 22:42-44).

What garden are you in today?

Your decision will affect generations.

Adam and Eve chose their own way and failed.

Jesus chose the will of the Father, and won.

Like our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, choose the perfect will of the father today.

“ I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”(Romans 12:1,2). Amen.

Police should do something.

“ Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;”(Ephesians 5:20). Amen.

How can I watch while my world slips into a nuclear fallout? The wickedness of man may soon end this civilization. Give peace O God.

“ And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.

Then saith he to Thomas, reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.

And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.”(John 20:26-28). Amen.

“ And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.”(Revelation 5:9,10). Amen.
