Some people happen to misunderstand the difference between the “Rapture” and the “Second Coming” of Christ.

Scripture clearly reveals concerning the Rapture, that it will be “ In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”(1 Corinthians 15:52).

This is obviously not the “second coming ” where “... every eye shall see him, ...”(Revelation 1:7).

This speaks rather of the “twinkling of an eye” moment.

Sudden catching away of the “... called, and chosen, and faithful.”(Revelation 17:14) “few”.

“ I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.

Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.”(Luke 17:34-36).

This is the Rapture, as it's also spoken of by Apostle Paul in his letter to the Thessalonians brethren: “ For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”(1 Thessalonians 4:14-17).




Whereas, the Second Advent (or Second Coming) is clearly noted in scripture to happen at the end of what theologians call “The Great Tribulation ”; but I'll call it “The Greatest Tribulation ”.

The Rapture will certainly take place before the seven-year tribulation and the Antichrist, “ For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,”(1 Thessalonians 5:9).

“And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”(Daniel 9:27).

“ For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. ”(Matthew 24:21).

Here is the “Second Coming”: “And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.

And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image.

These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.”(Revelation 19:11,19-21).

The prophet Enoch had earlier spoken of it, “... saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”(Jude 1:14,15).


Therefore, as much as the Second Coming has a calculable time frame from the beginning of the Great Tribulation and the Antichrist, we only know of the Rapture that presently it could take place even now, understanding from scripture the fulfilled signs our Lord Jesus Christ gave us.

So we should watch and pray so we don't miss the Rapture and face the Great Tribulation. God please!
