That country is a war zone. In fact, life expectancy could feel like 30 years because you can be killed at any time.

Different groups and tribes are fighting each other for control. Nigerians living there are often treated like slaves, and many Libyans are immigrants in Europe and neighbouring countries.

So this is the type of country they are comparing with Nigeria.

It plays a part in the economy though. Because a stronger currency helps to control imported inflation. When the naira is weak, every imported item becomes expensive immediately.

Like I said earlier you can kindly read up about inflation lag.

A stronger naira is only one part of the solution. It must come together with other factors.

And the effects aren't immediate as they take time to manifest directly in people's cost of living.

It's not simple or basic economics as you put it!

Do you realize that naira started getting stronger since 2024.

It's one major problem of this country. Other countries have more patriotic folks!

It has nothing to do with patriotism, just basic economics. A stronger naira with high inflation means the prices of goods and services will still be expensive.

A stronger naira with low inflation means things become cheaper and everyone benefits. This is basic economics.

What we currently have is a stronger naira while the prices of goods and services remain high, and people are still suffering.

price of goods and services needs to fall for people to get the value of their money.

which one is naira is now strong and the price of rice and beans is still high, it means even if you bring dollar to the economy, it will get finished in 2 weeks because inflation is very high

To be sincere, I am not happy. The naira keeps getting stronger every day, but the prices of goods and services are not coming down.

Before, you could change $100 for 150k when the rate was around 1,500/$, and you would go home happy because it could cover most of your costs for the day.

Now $100 is about138k to 140k, and it feels like once you make just one transfer, everything is gone. It just seems like everything has become more expensive.

People keep bragging about a stronger naira, but a stronger naira is meaningless if the prices of goods and services are not coming down.
