the one who is a virgin is simply someone who has never had sex before. so yes, you still are.
however, i think we should do away with the word "virgin" already, it is outdated.
notice that those who will attack me for that statement are those who will never frown at their sons
for going after women, but will break all hell when it is their daughter going out.
it seems the word virginity is applied only to women and this shows confusion and hypocrisy on the part
of those who will attack me; because the truth is a woman does not dis-virgin herself, rather
she has to sleep with a man who is the one that most time chase her.
and some how, these confused and hypocrite of a people will call me immoral.
i have not said anyone should go out and start being irresponsible with their sexuality. i am only pointing
out the double standard and confusion on the part of those who claim they are 'moral'.
truth is you cannot achieve chastity in women if you do not encourage it on the part of men. the one who is more
interested in women keeping their virginity should first tell the men to not chase women around. because men are the
ones who go for these women most times.

also, the reason for the so much emphasis for on female virginity is historical and has some evolutionary explanation to
it. i bet those who will tell me i am encouraging 'immorality' do not know this and that's why they say what they say
and you who is against what they say is the one they think is immoral. so you can see that knowledge, not scriptures, lead people to true morality.

historically, women had almost no social, economic and political power. this makes sex almost the only bargaining tool she has over her man. so she is advised not to give it out to him very 'easily' as that would mean compromising the only female political power. this is why when a lady is a bit open with men, her strongest critics are her fellow women who think she is betraying their political power over men. men criticize her too, but the antagonism she faces from her fellow women is on another level！but things have changed a lot. she now has other bargaining tools in life and as a result, the emphasis on virginity and female 'chastity' will only decrease.

one more reason the word 'virginity' has to go extinct in our dictionary is that fact that rape victims who feel their 'dignity' is gone after being raped, will no longer feel that way. this will make the healing process easier. people who lost their virginity through rape often times feel dirty afterwards and this adds to the trauma. but if we can stop giving hymen a praised position, which is what we should do, then helping these women heal after helping them get justice, will be easier. because she has not lost any dignity by having had that crime being done on her.

conclusion
i have no problem if anyone wants to stay virgin till marriage, and i do not have a problem with it either if you choose not to keep it till marriage. both of them is fine by me as long as you go on being a responsible citizen of where ever you are privilaged to reside and work. but i think the word virginity should stop existing for the following reasons.
1. it is a double standard and also a show of hypocrisy on the part of those who clamour for women to close their legs and not encourage their boys to not go after the girls till they are married. you cannot have the two together. logically impossible! in fact, since men are the ones who go for women, it will be more sensible for anyone who wants to restore 'morality' in the society. to stop a thing, you address the root.

2. women now have more bargaining power in the society than they use to have in those days.

3. to help rape victims get back on their feet more easily.

4. hymen can be reconstructed.

but of course, this makes no sense to people of faith, born again christians and born again muslims, as they think i am immoral saying this. while i have understanding to backup my position, they have scriptures.
