A spokesperson of the Nigerian military has revealed that captured Boko Haram members cannot even recite the Quran meaning that they don’t even practice the religion they claim to fight for.

Just a few days ago CBN issued a resounding warning on online investment scheme tagged: ‘The MMM Federal Republic of Nigeria. The Central Bank of Nigeria is cautioning Nigerians against patronizing wonder banks.

The head, Consumer Protection Department of the CBN, Mrs Kadija Kassim gave the warning at a forum in Niger state to mark the World Savings Day.

According to her, the activities of these wonder banks are not regulated by the CBN.

The regulator’s warning follows the campaign of an online investment scheme asking the investing public to participate in what it calls mutual aid financial network, with a monthly investment return of 30%.

She said, “We have heard about the activities of MMM, but I want to warn you against it because they are wonder banks that are not regulated.

“Desist from their activities because they are fraudulent.”

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has accused Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook, of allegedly ordering the removal of the Radio Biafra page from his platform.

IPOB told Zuckerberg that God will set an example with him for aligning with President Buhari to oppress them.

The group also accused the Facebook owner of suppressing freedom of speech and expression, adding that he will see the judgement of God upon him.

At least 850 soldiers attached to the 322 Artillery Battalion, and the Fourth Brigade Garrison, Ekeunwa, Benin City, the Edo State capital were reportedly ambushed by suspected Boko Haram terrorist group between Okene and Lokoja, Kogi State.

The incident which reportedly took place on Sunday night was made known on September 15, 2014, Monday, by the Punch.

It was reported that the soldiers were shortlisted for a counter-terrorism course at the Nigerian Army Training Centre in Kontagora, Niger State. They were deployed to boost the ongoing counter-terrorism operation in Borno and Adamawa states after completing their counter- insurgency course.

A security source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed that four of the soldiers sustained serious injuries but no life was lost in the attack. He said the attack is suspected to have been carried out by Boko Haram because of the sophisticated weapons the assailants used while shooting at the vans conveying the soldiers from both sides.

The source further revealed that the gallant soldiers also shot their way through the ambush and slept at the Army formation in Lokoja. He said the injured soldiers have been taken to a military facility in Lokoja for medical attention.

“It was not long that the soldiers returned from a peacekeeping operation in Sudan; they were members of the NIBBATT 41 that returned to the country about two months ago. The soldiers were taken unawares as the attackers operated from both sides of the road and got four of the soldiers seriously wounded” the source said. 

The source, however, expressed believe that the insurgents may have been tipped off on the movement of the troops from Benin to Kontagora. He said the soldiers have left for Kontagora to participate in the planned course. 

When the Director of Defence Information, Maj. Gen. Chris Olukolade, was contacted for confirmation of the ambush, is mobile phone was switched off. 

Meanwhile, it would be recalled that no fewer than 190 Nigerian soldiers were on January 19, 2013, ambushed by insurgents a few kilometres from Okene, Kogi State. The sect reportedly cut through the convoy of Mali-bound Nigerian Army peacekeepers travelling in three luxury buses via Kaduna to Bamako, Mali. One of the convoy was reportedly blown by improvised explosive devices planted on the highway, which was later accompanied by heavy gunfire. Two soldiers died, while others sustained injuries. Days after, Jama’atu Ansarul Muslimina Fi Biladis-Sudan, a breakaway group from Boko Haram claimed responsibility for the attack. 

However, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Adesola Amosu, has hinted that they might know the location of the jet, which disappeared after last Friday operation against Boko Haram in Konduga, Borno State.

The shoes were created by jewelry designer Jason Arasheben, founder of Jason of Beverly Hills. "Not very often do I get a request for the most expensive shoes in the world," the jeweler told the site. "When Nick approached me last year, he said he wanted to make history and be so over-the-top. He wanted to set a new standard in diamonds. ‘How can we make the most expensive pair of shoes in the world and make this finale special?’ he asked me." Arasheben added it took more than 2,000 hours of work and almost a year to complete the bedazzled shoes.

"It took four months alone to source all of the diamonds and create them the same size to make the shoe," he said.

Those blinged-out kicks are sturdier than they look, Arasheben said. "As long as he's not too overly aggressive in the shoes, everything should be all right," he explained. Cannon plans on donating the kicks for a good cause.

Taking a tablet

Two years ago, he came up with Qelasy, Africa's first educational tablet. "We thought about how to build a digital backpack; a tablet that will replace books, textbooks, notepads."

The idea is simple; transfer a country's entire education curriculum onto a digital format, along with sounds, animations and interactivity, and you no longer need a satchel crammed with school books.

The 36-year-old teamed up with a designer and then managed to find an investor to build a prototype.

This month his Qelasy tablet is going into schools for the first time. "This is a day I've been waiting for." Mr N'Doufou says.

The Ivorian government will be introducing the tablets to 5,000 students in public schools, while some private schools in both Ivory Coast and Morocco will be running pilot projects.

They have also had interest from Ukraine, Macedonia, Senegal, Nigeria and France. "My dream is to reach all the schools in the world for a better education," he says.

The tablets will also be available in shops at a cost of $232 (£143), before tax.
