Lagos is in an analogous position on the continent. Like in London where the skyscrapers are not concentrated in just one place( Canary Wharf and the main City), Lagos has concentration of highrises in Lagos Island, Victoria Island, Ikeja and now, the developing Eko City. Lagos has a monarchy, one of the most respected in Nigeria. Lagos is the fashion and entertainment capital of the continent with the annual Lagos Fashion and Design Week usually broadcast on the continent and in Europe. Lagos Commerce is just too big.

Media, one of Nigeria's strongest points all have a huge concentration in Lagos. She probably has the highest number of multinationals on the continent only second to Jo'burg. Lagos is art and culture, the yearly December count down, Eyo festivals and modern carnivals come to mind.
