Christianity EtcFive Killed In Second Day Of Charlie Hebdo Protests In Niger by mralabs(op): 7:07am On Jan 18, 2015
At least five people were killed on Saturday in protests in Niger against Charlie Hebdo's cartoons of the Prophet Mohammad, authorities said, bringing the death toll from two days of violence in the country to 10.

Police fired tear gas at crowds of stone-throwing Muslim youths who set fire to churches and looted shops in the capital Niamey after authorities banned a meeting called by local Islamic leaders. A police station was attacked and at least two police cars burned.

"They offended our Prophet Mohammad, that's what we didn't like," said Amadou Abdoul Ouahab, who took part in the demonstrations.

President Mahamadou Issoufou said all five of the dead were civilians, with four of them killed inside burned churches or bars. He said an enquiry would be opened and those responsible for organising the violence would be punished.

"Those who pillage religious sites and profane them, those who persecute and kill their Christian compatriots or foreigners who live on our soil, have understood nothing of Islam," he said in a televised address.

The president added, however, that he shared the disgust of Muslims who felt offended by the caricatures of the Prophet Mohammad and that freedom of expression should not mean liberty to insult religious beliefs.

Issoufou joined a march in Paris last weekend alongside French President Francois Hollande, in the wake of a gun attack that killed 12 people at the offices of satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo, which had angered many Muslims by printing cartoons of Mohammad in the past.

But Issoufou said on Saturday he had wanted to demonstrate his opposition to terrorism and not support for the newspaper itself.

Calm returned to the streets of Niamey on Saturday afternoon but a demonstration called for on Sunday by opposition groups could revive the tension. Authorities on Saturday banned the march but opposition leaders said they would proceed anyway.

Demonstrations were also reported in regional towns, including Maradi, 600 km (375 miles) east of Niamey, where two churches were burned. Another church and a residence of the foreign minister were burned in the eastern town of Goure.

Niger's 17 million people are almost all Muslims, though its government remains secular.

With the influence of moderate Sufi brotherhoods, Niger has avoided the armed Islamist uprisings that have shaken neighbouring Nigeria and Mali, but there have been growing protests by hardline Muslim associations over social issues.

The attack by two gunmen on Charlie Hebdo's offices in Paris sparked massive demand for the next issue of the weekly, which put an image of the Prophet on its front page to mark the bloodbath.

That again outraged many in the Muslim world, triggering violent demonstrations in Algeria, Niger and Pakistan on Friday.

French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius condemned the violence in Niger, a former French colony in West Africa where it stations troops as part of a regional counter-terrorism operation. "France expresses its solidarity with the authorities in Niger," he said.

Four Muslim preachers who had convened the meeting in Niamey were arrested, police sources said. The French embassy warned its citizens not to go out on the streets.

The death toll from Friday's clashes in Niger's second largest city of Zinder rose to five after emergency services discovered a burned body inside a Catholic Church.

Residents said churches were burned, Christian homes looted and the French cultural centre attacked. A police officer and three civilians had already been confirmed killed in the demonstrations, police sources said.

Peaceful marches took place after Friday prayers in the capitals of other West African countries, Mali, Senegal and Mauritania, and in Algeria in North Africa, all former French colonies. In Algiers, several police were injured in clashes with protesters.

10. In his shirt

The weird thing that men find attractive in a woman is when she’s dressed untidily in his favorite shirt. To most men, it’s a really designer look. From personal experience I can say that I love seeing my lady in my polo shirts. It's fun when you're into a beautiful relationship.

9. When she works out

Men love it when a woman works out. That tired look and the sweaty feeling attract most men instantly. Perhaps you don’t find it attractive, but your man won’t want to miss this look. So don’t be afraid to work out in front of your partner. The best option is to work out together, I sometimes pause to take a peep at her curves when she bends over. That chilling feelings is priceless.

8. Her towel head

One of the strangest things that most men find extremely attractive in his woman is when she washes her hair. They say that a wet hair look, especially if the hair is long, and the towel head is turn on for them. Well, it’s weird, but who knows maybe your sweetheart also loves your towel head

Did you know your guy likes watching you apply your makeup? It amazes him how precisely you can do this. Those imbecelic-poses she strikes sometimes cracks me, usually mimic her and before you know it, we are both happy and having fun. Guys also seem to be astonished that every girl has her own style with the makeup. So, ladies, feel free to check your makeup in front of your man

6. Glasses

Guys love to see girls in glasses and it’s true. My sweetheart has always told me that he liked to see me in glasses and my sister’s partner feels the same way. If men find a woman that wears glasses attractive, why not throw away those contact lenses? I think this is wonderful news for girls who wear glasses every day.

5. Camo

Some guys find camo attractive on girls because it means she could be his best hunting buddy. But it doesn’t mean that you should wear camo every single day. Even though men find camo attractive on a woman, they still love cute dresses and nice skirt. Feminity is still important.

4. Stretch marks

If you’ve had children by your man, you don’t have to worry about stretch marks. Although most women are not happy about stretch marks, most men, including your partner, love them. Stretch marks remind your man of the fact you carried his child. Trust me, he really appreciates it. Actually, i'm referring to those tiny Sexy ones. Definitely, not those on Eniola Badmus.

3. Seeing her afraid

Another weird thing men find attractive in a woman is fear. I thought it was terrible when I first read about it. A man wanted his woman to be afraid? This was the first question that had crossed my mind. However, then I realized why men find fear attractive. The thing is, a man doesn’t want to wish deep fear on a woman but when he sees her a bit scared, it gives him the chance to comfort her and show he is a real man.

2. Her accent

Almost every woman is embarrassed by her accent. I didn’t like my accent but I’ve learned to embrace it over the few years. The great news is that men like a woman’s accent and find it really attractive. No matter if you have an accent from the inner city or the south, it can be attractive to your man. I’m sure your accent is nice to listen to, so make sure you embrace it.

1. Seeing her undone

While most men appreciate when women make the effort to look gorgeous through doing the makeup, dressing nice or fixing the hair, they find it attractive if they see her a mess as well. A lot of guys tell that this helps them know a woman better. They get to see her behind the nice clothes and makeup up.

Kaduna Zaria Highway has been locked down over a dispute between a tanker driver and military personnel on duty at a check point stop. This was reportedly caused by #500, which was demanded by the military man. The truck driver refused the request and what followed was a merciless beating. This made the other tanker drivers to go berserk and then locked down the road. As it is now, everyone is trekking to get to their destination. What do we call this now? See pictures from the scene.

Foreign AffairsGuy Scott Becomes The First White President Of Post-colonial Africa by mralabs(op): 9:40am On Oct 31, 2014
Trust most Nigerians take on this will be; 'Recolonisation begins' but what if he turns Zambia to Dubai in 6 Months? Let the debate begin.

Guy Scott, previously vice president under the recently deceased former Zambian President, Michael Sata, 77, has officially been appointed as Acting President of Zambia.

President Scott is now the first white president of any African nation since Former President FW de Klerk conceded power to Nelson Mandela in 1994. He had presided over several official functions in the absence of Former President Sata, but was never appointed acting president until earlier today.

Former President Sata died late on Tuesday in a London hospital after a long bout of illness.

President Scott will now look to complete the last 3 months of Former President Sata’s term. However, it is unlikely that he will be eligible for the coming round of elections due to constitutional stipulations affecting his citizenship.

PoliticsUs: Why We Won't Sell Arms To Nigeria by mralabs(op): 10:19am On Oct 13, 2014
Despite the urgent need for external support for Nigeria to defeat Boko Haram, the United States (U.S.) has declared that it will not sell arms to the Federal Government. The position of the U.S. was disclosed by the country's Ambassador to Nigeria, James F. Entwistle. Entwistle, who spoke in Yola on Thursday in an interactive session with journalists after addressing American University of Nigeria (AUN) students and staff on his mission to Adamawa State, explained that the decision of the U.S. government not to sell arms to the country was due to what he described as massive human rights abuses by the Nigeria military. "The U.S. government is against human rights abuse by any country in the world. So it will be ungodly for the U.S. to sell arms to Nigeria, a country that its military is notoriously known for human rights abuse. We cannot sell our arms to a country that will use our technology which is meant for defence of the helpless people to harass the helpless citizens", he said. On the Boko Haram's killings in the north-eastern part of the country, he said that the crisis is getting stronger due to the political undertone and internal sabotage by the people of Nigeria. "In the past six months it is very clear the manner Boko Haram is getting stronger that there is internal sabotage. The deadly gang has efficient military operations, the way they operate is clear that they receive military training based on the tactics they employ to operate", he maintained. He said that U.S. government had been training Nigeria military in different fields including information management and war tactics to improve the productivity of both the personnel and officers. The U.S. ambassador maintained that Nigeria and his country had a good relationship and that President Barrack Obama is building a stronger friendship between the two countries for economy prosperity of Nigeria.

RomanceKissing Banned In Nigeria by mralabs(op): 9:51pm On Oct 07, 2014
Kissing, osculation, necking, tonsil hockey; Call it whatever you may, has been banned by the Nigerian government.

The two houses voted overwhelmingly in an unprecedented plenary session to outlaw the act of kissing.

Speaking at the session as a member of the gallery, Patrick Obiahagbon, noted that “kissing as an act is inherently repugnant, excoriatingly malicious and patently unnatural.”

Senator Magnus Obe who voted from his hospital bed in London was equally disgusted. “If God intended for us to drink saliva would he have created water?” he asked via Google Hangout.

The historic vote to outlaw kissing is coming a few months after another historic vote in which same sex marriages and relations was criminalized with the guilty liable to face 14 years in jail.

In his final statement at the end of the vote which has now been sent to the President for his assent, the senate president, Senator David Nack, told his colleagues from both the lower and upper houses that “kissing is an imperialistic tool introduced into Africa to mentally enslave us. Did you ever see Kwame Nkrumah kiss? Did you see Nnamdi Azikiwe kiss? Did you see Obafemi Awolowo kiss? No. We even have it on good authority that Awolowo did not, you know, with his wife for twenty years prior to his death. I am not saying that my fellow lawmakers should imitate Awolowo because the era in which he lived is different from the era in which we now live. Mini-skirts were not invented then. lol”

Protests have already been launched and a group known as the Koalition in Serious Support of Necking (KISSON) has issued a statement noting that “we will make the country ungovernable. Every onlooker is either a traitor or a non-kisser.” The statement was signed by Comrade Bob Kisser.

Operation stop the monster is what I term the current steps, measures and actions that is been taken by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and all other countries with cases of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD). I’m incredibly impressed with the Nigeria government’s focus on containing the spread of Ebola. The WHO said recently that with the way Nigeria was handling the outbreak, it may soon come out clean from the outbreak, and this can be attributed to our Never-Say-die and Can-Do attitude. It will interest you to know that other for-profit private organizations in the country have pulled out, what I will rather call funny but necessary steps to put EVD off their door steps.

When EVD was earlier reported in Lagos State, it was bankers turned surgeons (use of hand gloves) as seen with Union Bank staff and others. GT bank took it personal as they started pointing temperature guns at their customers before allowing them entry to banking hall for business. Access Bank has indeed joined in the implementation of these safety precautions as to prevent the spread of the virus to her staff and customers, Knowing full well the business risk involved when an Ebola case is been reported in your organisation.

Trust Nigerians, No one will ever knock to check if you’re open for business. The case of Access Bank is synonymous to that of parents to lads’ scenario before and after dinner “Junior! Princess! Get your hands washed, Dinner is set”.

Funny, you’ve to wash your hands thoroughly with sanitizer before entering the banking hall for business, actually whatever helps in containing EVD is welcomed. You’ll appreciate the pictures more. The below pictures were taken from an Access bank branch up North.

These guys no wan take chances at all!
