Omoawoke:Yes he said those things and was was killed as a result. So if this student is expelled as a result of what he said then it's not a price too great considering another lost his life for doing same. ![]() |
Every year. It just keeps happening So unfortunate for the business owners |
Sometimes when one reads comments on from some people you'll just loose more brain cells. Nigeria that does not allow citizens to own guns, how has it faired against Boko Haram, iswap and co? One of the reasons the USA will continue to be one of the greatest countries is because of the freedom the citizens have to own guns cause if they didn't the politicians will make up useless laws that will totally crumble the nation. Go look at Switzerland, they have a very high gun to person ratio also and yet one of the least gun violence countries. That tell you that it's not about the guns, it's about the people. You all fail to understand that even if guns are banned, those who want to use it for evil will still find a way to get it and at that point others become more disadvantaged. If more sane Nigerians are allowed to own guns so many of the nonsense that we see will stop. About 2 years ago, around 9pm to 10pm a lot of boys came in to the Neighborhood(this happened on many occasions) breaking into shops and homes, looting and destroying cars. I called the police several times and they Never came. Now tell me, if a couple of people owned guns in that neighborhood would this happen? Please let's be wise. |
Na wah o. When the masses are suffering and have very little to eat. Indonesians Riot As Lawmakers Collect ₦4.5m Allowance While Minimum Wage Is 120k BREAKING: Indonesia has been thrown into serious unrest as citizens hit the streets over shocking perks given to lawmakers while ordinary people face heavy economic hardship. The anger started when news broke that each of the country’s 580 parliamentarians was getting a monthly housing allowance of about ₦4.5m ($3,000). This comes on top of their official salary, free housing, and several other benefits. In total, an average MP now earns over 15–20 times the minimum wage. To put it in perspective: The minimum wage in Jakarta is around ₦220,000 ($140). In poorer areas, workers earn even less — as low as ₦120,000 ($75). Meanwhile, MPs are pocketing allowances and pay packages worth several millions monthly. For ordinary Indonesians struggling with high food prices, fuel hikes, and new taxes, the disparity felt like a slap in the face. Protests intensified after a 21-year-old delivery rider was killed when a police armored vehicle crushed him during a demonstration. His death went viral online, sparking even more anger nationwide. So far, at least six lives have been lost, parliament buildings and transport hubs have been set on fire, and protests have spread across more than 30 towns and cities. In one area, over 100,000 citizens marched against property taxes that had been raised by more than 250%. The government has now promised to cut the allowances, suspend lawmakers’ foreign trips, and pay compensation to the victim’s family. But many Indonesians say this fight goes beyond money — it’s about corruption, unfairness, and leaders living in luxury while the masses suffer. Reading this as Nigerians, the story feels very familiar. Leaders living large, while ordinary people struggle to pay rent and feed their families. Question for Nairalanders: if Indonesians can rise up together over this, could Nigerians ever do the same if things get worse? |
The riot has continued to escalate in Indonesia till today. |
Fergie001 Mynd44 Seun This post deserves the front page for everyone to see and to compare with what is happening in Nigeria. |
Racoon:Exactly, quite similar to my thoughts. The disparity to what our Law makers earn and what the average Nigerian earns is way more that what is earned in Indonesia and yet we let them continue. |

Pray to God for direction and Marry who you want to marry. At that age she's wise and will value you more than Gold.... Concerning giving birth, have you not seen women in their 40's give birth and also seen women in their 20's barren? |
Chai... They just want to finish Nigerians. Would it not be better if the banks introduced app notifications just like in some other countries? This way the app notifies you directly (for those who have the Bank apps) and it's free .... But we know that they won't because it's all about making more profit from poor Nigerian |
Was actually first sold for about 7,000. I still remember vividly |
This is terrible. Why are people like this? No thought on your fellow man's life once you get a little power....Black Man who do us this thing? |
Yes there are... Seek God with your whole being, then ask Him for the kind of wife you really need and He'll lead you directly to her. |

The person has no name? |
Fearurcreeator:Like I said before it hurts and I understand your pain and bitterness though I'll guarantee you this... You will still feel the pain way much more and remember this comment. Peace ![]() |
Fearurcreeator:Here education is expensive but you get value for your money. Someone posted online yesterday that he pays more for power in Nigeria than he does in the USA and food in the USA is grown in the USA and also imported from different parts of the world so you can choose exactly what you want to eat. But I understand your anger and anguish. There's no one who would go thru what an average Nigerian is going through and not be so bitter and angry. It's painful, I know. |
deji17:I did put it there...it's very easy, just Google Costco gas and see the prices for regular. |
If you have money, Japa legally. When you make money, you can come home and invest if you like... 1 gallon = 3.78 liters In USA, 1 gallon of regular fuel = $2.69 (Costco) /3.78= 0.71. 0.71 x 1,687(price of 1 dollar) = ₦1,197.77. USA pays approximately= ₦1,197.77 per liter of fuel Nigerians are paying almost the same price for fuel with the USA but minimum wage is not even close in comparison. |
They should hurry up! |
Congratulations to President Donald Trump the 47th President of the United States of America! Though there are still some outstanding votes but he has already crossed the 270 Mark hence elected.

One thing is for sure, this will greatly impact negatively on the sales on certain types of communication devices and get governments (smart countries) to start investing in developing their own electronics to avoid future occurrences. |
wow. Nigerian news sometimes sound so strange!!! They should leverage AI to track and monitor registrations henceforth. |
Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Difficult to do but that is what is required of us non the less and it's non negotiable. When it gets hard to forgive, instead of holding on to the grudge--pray instead that God would give you a heart that will forgive, for we can do nothing on our own. |
meditator:Speak for yourself and those you know. |
Thieves in power. My dear Nigerians.... This is one thing I'll tell you, Majority of Nigerians do not deserve to live in a place like Nigeria. Just travel to a developed country like the USA and you will nearly cry at what we have been forced to accept as normal. Things that are seen as basic are what we look to as luxury. Just sad. Our leaders have failed us woefully!!! |

In a sane country, the government would follow up on this case and locate where the kilishi was bought and not only lock up the person who sold it but also do an urgent test on all the people selling kilishi within that area. |
This is so wrong and the government should speedily set him free to confirm to us the masses that they have no part in the syndicate. |
