Carlmax: Your issue is you keep saying the "South South" and the "Niger Delta" this are recent terms coined by spiteful leaders, deliberately to balkanise the eastern region and weaken their influence. I dare you to name the spiteful leaders. Not everyone is out to get you. From everything you keep saying I can clearly see that you're just a misguided conspiracy theorist and I'm wasting my time bantering with you. |
Education › Re: 5 Things We Learnt In Secondary School That Are Now Useless by MrFlavvor(m): 2:17am On May 05, 2021 |
marveangel: This is a list of things we learnt in secondary school that are not applicable in real life or have become totally obsolete maybe due to advance in technology or maybe they weren't as practical in real life as our teachers tried to make us believe.
1. Quadratic Formula (Almighty Formula) The very first time I heard those words "Almighty Formula" I was in primary school, my elder brothers were arguing about some maths problem and they mentioned Almighty Formula I was like wow there is a formula in maths that is Almighty I bet with this formula I can solve any math problem I ever came across. I mean it is after all "Almighty" . Spoiler! there is nothing Almighty about the quadratic formula it is actually just another method of solving quadratic equations.
2. How to use long division and long multiplication I remember my mathematics teacher shaming us and acting as though our whole brian was filled with saw dust just because one couldn't do any of this. But look at us today, we have the mobile phone and calculators I don't think I've been in any situation where I needed to use the long division I learnt or should I say forced to learn.
3. Memorizing The Periodic Table Believe it or not back in secondary school SS1 first term to be precise I actually memorized the entire elements in the periodic table, all 104 of them over the weekend by break on Monday I had become something of a legend. Accompanied by my two closest friends I went from SS1 A to D mesmerizing other students with my "knowledge". I was the centre of attraction, each student with their Ababio textbook staring at the periodic table while I recited each element accordingly. By the end of the week I was something of a legend everybody was talking about me, even the seniors. But come month end even I could barely remember the first 30 elements accordingly and the legend fizzled into thin air. Unless you ended up studying chemistry I mean advance chemistry you'll probably would find memorizing the periodic table a complete waste of time, especially those rare elements not like you can got to ShopRite and order 2 kilos of Uranium.
4. Roman Numerals Yeah yeah you could argue that you still make list using them, I understand that, but how often do you use Roman numerals, unless you are a class teacher teaching the same old things we were thought back them to some innocent students you probably never made a list longer than 10 with Roman numerals that's if you even do. Tell me I'm wrong.
5. Longitude and Latitude I Know it seems like I have something against geography but I don't, my geography teacher was a fun guy back in the days but let's be real here, how many times have you had to use your knowledge of longitude and latitude in real life scenerio( unless you are a pilot or a ship captain,in that case - ah ya captain) and this thing called Google maps actually made that knowledge obsolete.
Bonus; Morning Assembly As far as I'm concerned this is a complete waste of 1-2 hours every morning, why couldn't we just get to school and go straight to class why do we have to stand and sing, dance (principal sir I already endure 2 hours of morning devotion at home before coming to school) and then of course March to class. I never understood the essence especially the marching to class part. But if you do kindly enlighten me.
Well there you have it ladies and gentlemen top 5 things we learnt in secondary school that I believe are not applicable in real life or are now obsolete. Feel free to add yours and if there is anyone you do not agree with kindly let me know. I agree with all except number 5 |

Carlmax: I am Urhobo, fully in support of Biafra, let everybody decide if they want in or not, there is no coercion, there can be no coercion. However, it is for the people to decide, not selfish politicians that see themselves as Kings. Thus the need for a referendum. It truly is up to the people to decide. I never said I'm against Biafra. I would be a fool to say the Igbos aren't being mistreated under the so-called "one Nigeria" My point is, the Niger Delta people are not in support of joining the Biafran Republic or at least the majority of them aren't. So it isn't right for them to claim the geographical area as being under them. I continue to say this, the Igbos are no less tribalistic than the fulanis so we're just going to be repeating the cycle by being under them. If the SS wants to split and form their own Republic I know for a fact that they wouldn't survive. To be honest with you Nigeria needs the Igbos to survive and the north knows this which is why they put up a fight the first time and are willing to do so again. They'll never let the Igbos go cause without them Nigeria would be worse than it is now. I bet if we had an igbo man as president we would have moved forward way more than we are now. |

NikAustine: It doesn't matter as long as their igbos and they HV oil so it means the Igbos are right to join the SS..by the way not just Oyigbo ..they're alot of Communities in Rivers that are not Ikwerres but they're Igbos let them keep imo state with it's oil. I don't even understand why they're fighting to control oil producing states. When the oil dries up, what happens to them then? Ask yourself this |

Carlmax: If you know any history, you won't ask this question. Akwa ibom and cross river are the most south eastern states in Nigeria and were key in the original Biafran geography and active participants in the Biafran struggle. Then what will you say about Rivers and Bayelsa? Is it fair to include them in your secessionist manifesto when they are not down for it? Or do you think you can coerce them in to joining the Biafran Republic? |
Celebrities › Re: The Most Expensive Mansion In Nigeria: Folorunsho Alakija’s Mansion (pictures) by MrFlavvor(m): 12:16am On May 05, 2021 |
Carlmax: What is confusing a lot of young people today is the fake administrative blocks carved out after the Civil War to isolate the Igbos and punish them for leading the Biafran war. The old eastern region comprises all of cross rivers and akwa ibom, if you have eyes check a map and tell me the states that occupy the south eastern borders of Nigeria. Another stupid Political gibberish is "south south", that point does not exist in geography. First of all, it does. Secondly, how many parts was the country divided into in the first place? Just 3. North, West and East. If it was originally split in 4, would you be saying this bs? |

NikAustine: You often forget there is Igbos in delta and Igbos in Rivers...eg Oyigbo that is Igbo has oil ... There is the delta igbos Anioma in delta state too.
Niger delta isn't a language, there are different ethnicities there from Ijaw, Isekiri, ibibio, Annangs, Aniomas, ikas, etc...so bro dey calm down ok
We and the south East are one...(I'm Akwa ibom) by the way...if you like believe me or not...ur own prob Oyigbo is igbo. Are they in an Igbo state? |
Celebrities › Re: The Most Expensive Mansion In Nigeria: Folorunsho Alakija’s Mansion (pictures) by MrFlavvor(m): 12:12am On May 05, 2021 |
NikAustine: But some people here are Igbos from Delta state and River state... So will you then deny them being Niger deltans? Where is here exactly? You can't expect me to answer your question without context. Besides, ondo state has indigenous Ijaws but you don't see them claiming the state, do you? |
Politics › Re: See 22 Storey Building Nigeria House In New York by MrFlavvor(m): 12:10am On May 05, 2021 |
NikAustine: Are there no indigenous Igbos in delta state and Rivers again?.. Who are the Aniomas in delta doesn't Oyigbo in Rivers have oil too? Neither Delta nor Rivers belong to the igbos. You people are only clamoring for the SS to join you because of the oil. When the oil dries up what happens to them then? Seeing as they're not as business minded as igbos they won't be able to survive Biafra when that happens. Then the igbos will start rearing their tribalistic side. Or are you going to deny they are not as tribalistic as the northerners? |

greymiles: who needs ur damaged and rotten land b4 Igbos don’t need dirty people in our biafrans dream We will leave you alone and let Fulani deal with u then ur eye go clear say na we dey cover for u since Ewu Yet here you are claiming oil that doesn't belong to you. You and your people are no better than the fulani you claim to detest. I see no sense in a union between the Niger Delta and your people who are no less tribalistic and egotistic than the fulanis |

Just wait for it. I just heard of one in my area that impregnated his 13yo daughter cause his wife denies him sex. The sick thing is people are actually blaming his wife |
