OILSOUP:Go to hell with whatever religion you practise that gives you the illusion to believe u can poke your nose into people's affairs and make ill informed judgment. |
happy wedding anniversary to the Fasasis. to all of you developing palpitations over the wife's name and faith, I think you should learn to think before typing. I'm quite familiar with her social media accounts and from her posts, I can say with a degree of certainty that Islam was not forced on her. if you have any evidence to the contrary, pls provide it if not, just shut the heck up and let's hear word |
CSTR2:either you provide proof that he forced her into changing her name or u remain silent forever..... |
tobida:Either u provide fact that he forcefully made her change her name to farida or u should just keep quiet |
damn. I feel ur pain bro this same thing happened to me at night class during preparations for my ican exam each time the insect kicked or scratched my eardrum, it felt like my head was going to explode. I think I used a cotton wool to remove the insect after close to 6 hours of torture. Trial and error is all I can prescribe but be careful with your eardrum ooo. |
Icon79:that girl in the picture is no longer a baby. if a boy in her grade at school does that to her at school, I doubt she would feel the need to tell her mum or dad. since its normal. dad does it. its not about the dad's intention or dirty minds or hearts or conscience. its about the girl herself. protecting her innocence |
it is highly unlikely that the man would kiss his son (of the same age) like he did with his daughter.........there goes your answer. |
IceDude:You are right. to an extent However the problem is that when a man that's a real he-goat does that to her, she might not see anything wrong. Nothing bad dia jor! afterall, her dad does that to her |
powerfulsettingz:your baby is still too young to understand the implication of kissing on the lips. the girl in the picture posted by the OP is already approaching puberty. parents should respect that |
its really been informative reading through this thread. some inevitable condescending stuff from the IOS crew but they still made some good points. However, at this stage of my life, I can't sink money into a phone that I would have to baby sit. I need a device that becomes MINE once I pay for it. So, I will be picking up my Samsung tomorrow morning. cheers! |
when you're spending like an eternity just to turn at a junction. see how people will start Berlin conference on your head and start dishing out directives........cut your hand! return your hand! lol |
Vince77:The learner sign also mandates that you have a learner's permit and someone with a clean driver's license beside you. The police are fond of targeting cars with the L-plate because most people flaunt the requirements. So it might be better not to use the tag |
My thoughts: The overwhelming response to this case shows the problem with us as a people. Too much sentimental rubbish, yet very little examination of the claims of both Mr. Iroko and Mr. Umar. The case should revolve around proving and disproving the following: 1) That Mr. iroko named his dog after his hero, the president. (hard to disprove since there might not be tangible evidence for intent) 2) That Mr. iroko named his dog after Mr. umar's father. (umar will have to provide evidence of previous altercation or eye witnesses since iroko denies this) 3) That Mr. iroko wrote the name on his dog and walked the dog through ketere market(eye witness account only way to prove this plus a detailed sequence of the event including the exact day and time. Mr. iroko will have to provide an alibi if he denies the act) Personally, I think making this simple civil case into a case against the president shows exactly why our courts don't work and might never work. This is a simple case (even though there were allegations of threat to public peace) and a magistrate should be able to adjudicate here. Making it all about the president or 'reckless northerners' or 'provocative ibos' is simply missing the point And I doubt that Mr. Iroko would have the courage to walk the dog through that market. ketere market runs the lenght of a hundred metres with stalls on both sides belonging to northerners. it is a small and compact market where hardly a word of English is spoken. A stroll through the market feels like a stroll through the streets of kano. though, there is a strong ibo presence (boutiques and electronic stores) in the areas around ketere, I doubt Mr. iroko would have the effrontery to pull off what he was accused of. I also doubt that Mr. Iroko considers the president his hero..... But those are my thoughts. what matters is the courts verdict. why don't we stop all these sentimental gymnastics and focus on the facts of the case. As for the shoddy way in which the NPF handled this case. Its no surprise that over the decades, no one has had to play the ethnic card in other to criticize the force. The tongue lashing is uniform.....and well deserved. |

adexsimply:wow! wow! wow! so much information hidden somewhere in my head. isn't equatorial assignment about a guy that took on a mission to rescue a girl from some tribe like that. they were given a hot chase as they escaped. tell me I'm right please! |
Coldfeets:I beg to disagree with you. reading is totally different from the browsing we do on the internet these days. the writers of old told stories that broadened our horizons and shed more light on the world as we grew up. some things I couldn't learn from my parents or my teachers, I learnt in these books. the confidence to mull over a new word, and decide that I could know its meaning by context, I learnt in these books. reading elechi amadi, emecheta,Achebe, obi in a way made me understand ibo friends even before I met them. the internet can give all these. but right now, it doesn't. there's too much gossip and irrelevancies. too much noise. too much fawning over other people's lives and lifestyles. what we are saying is that there needs to be more literature, be it books, in print or in whatever form. it's not a call to revert to the stone age. |
Bluezy13:saddest book I ever read. the children who did not cater for her ended up spending fortunes on her burial |
charlescarlos:wow. boy slave! shettima. how can I forget matamba! the frightening guard |
Yuneehk:yeah. Richard was a strict parent while the girl brought up by Mina was spoilt. I can't quite remember how the book ended |
who read scoundrels in uniform? how can I forget big headed obu in 'the potters wheel'. memories! |
can I get FM 16 from you? |
delishpot:i've been told the same by a friend of mine from owerri. but still, I can't imagine having to negotiate some of those stuff with my future in-laws. papa, let's make it I generator and five litres oo. and I can't afford wristwatch and cover shoe. mama, you will manage 6 brazziere ooo. I would die of shame before the meeting ends |
myners007:I beg to differ. Nothing on that list is for the bride. it's all for her parents and siblings. Marriage should not be a means to rip off anyone. imagine generator and 10 litres of fuel on the list.... ![]() myners007:I beg to differ.
