I just watched this short video. First off, this Chinese travel YouTuber and content creator (and those being excessively critical and trolling here) MUST know here and now that other foreign travel YouTubers [who have visited and are currently visiting Lagos and Nigeria], have also bought and eaten street foods such as Boli (roasted plantains) with peanuts and/or grilled fish, Akara, Asun, Suya (grilled meat), and visited bukas to eat Iyan (pounded yam), Amala, Smokey Party Jollof rice and more WITHOUT having these kinds of issues! You don't just go out to visit any location with a video cam recorder without a local tour guide being present with you like in MOST countries of the world to prevent unintended consequences.


There are specific locations and neighborhoods right in the United States (especially on the highly dangerous "South Sides" of major American cities such as in Houston, Chicago, Atlanta, etc), Brazil, China [In China, some women have been kidnapped and married off as brides by crime cartels to never-married, older Chinese men for hefty sums of money], Columbia, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, the UK, France, Hong Kong, etc, you don't just visit without local guidance otherwise you would be mugged and lose your wallets and other valuables as tourists! it's ALL about knowing what locations to visit as there are bad spots in every country. The authorities ONLY have to ensure that they work with law-enforcement agencies on minimizing and/or eradicating lazy migrant street gangs or street urchins who are often times on hard drugs coming into Lagos State and other Nigerian States. P.S. The guy in that short video talking to the Chinese is NOT an "Agbero" but was only harassing the Chinese [being a "JJC"] and fortunately NEVER collected ANY money from him. Now, the Yoruba word "Agbero" means "to carry passengers" (derived from the FULL sentence "Awon ti won Gbe Ero" with "Gbe" meaning "to Carry" and "Ero" meaning "Passengers" respectively). The word Agbero refers to the young men who have traditionally worked for several decades (right before the 1960s) strictly with the legally registered Nigerian national transportation unions who are also legitimate "Nigerian Labor Congress" members [NLC members] now known as RTEAN and NURTW hence the name "Agbero" meaning "to carry passengers" in the Yoruba language.

Many non-speakers of Yoruba language (especially the Ibos on this NL thread and elsewhere) have annoyingly and embarrassingly been bastardizing the Yoruba language for years now and WRONGLY refering to "street urchins or street gangs" [known as "Omo ita" in the Yoruba language] as "Agbero" which is WRONG! Many of the Agberos work as responsible drivers as well with families of their own based off of past investigations. The accurate Yoruba etymology, definition and usage of the word "Agbero" is different from the totally WRONG definition Ibos are giving to the highly IRRESPONSIBLE street urchins or street gangs harrasing and extracting money from innocent people especially in the commercial city of Onitsha and/or Awka (before they can cross even a wooden plank placed on a drainage system or gutter in some places).
