Yes,I summarized that in comparing the working system to that of Nigeria but an average Nigerian has no plans except to go abroad,if u are not going there with plans,it would be worse than Nigeria where u are managing, many Nigerian do not even have places to sleep and I know of a few that committed crimes just to get themselves deported as they had no money to come back home, only rich people and people who know what they are doing enjoy their migration to America
Nice contribution

Saving N15 million yearly is very rare.

That women probably used her life savings and may be even borrowed some money to spend like that.
Let me guess the husband is in a serious financial Billings, left right and centre right now, Women and problems, So she spend that way because she knows the husband can pay her bills

well, you can do the maths. American minimum wage per hour is 8dollars, then you work for 8hours per day, which is 22 days a month.

Now minus 25%tax, flat bill, utilities bills, food, plus other bill.
How much can you save in a month and calculate that for a year!
500$ With stubborn savings , Any little mistake the money is gone
N2,800000 black market rate Annual savings, Thanks sir I understand

-If you actually have wealth (22 million Naira savings/year by Nigerian standard), you will realise quickly that it comes with a sense of responsibility.

-Anyway, make sure you establish your emergency services in Nigeria, i.e A&E; as you have already confessed your love for food, I would imagine a high LDL and carbohydrate forms much of your diet - so be vigilant for “Big-men diseases” such as CVD and Diabetes (one of the highest killers of Afro-Asian people).
Stop this Bigman of a thing, I watched a program on bbc , Many re in USA jail because they don’t have 2000$ For bail or whatever, I can’t really remember because it been long so I can’t recall that much, I don’t know what there offenses re, Simultaneously That means you can have health issues in USA and insurance won’t help much , so you think insurance will cover 70,000$ health bills when you actually don’t pay more than 100$ health insurance monthly? they will cut a deal with you not pay all, Stop making Nigeria look bad pls, We have issues but no where is 200% sure

I think you are already making money in Nigeria. what you need is expansion and diversification. My only fear is the instability in Nigeria system. Nigerian businesses environment is full of instabilities. just on political or economic policy can send you back to square one.
My real fear but how will you leave a million at hand to another man land to earn thousand? Did you see my calculations?

-For a selfish “millionaire” who is happy in Nigeria, and probably has his own security and emergency services in case of his inevitable health emergencies, you write very badly.

-When I saw this “Dick-measuring” thread on the politics section, I knew it will end up with your above submission.

-Was it not last year or so, that your country’s data office said; majority of you Nigerians doesn’t even have up to #500k in savings. grin
Point one millionaire who is not selfish , just one pls, billionaire dash millions, millionaire dash thousands, while thousandnaira dash hundreds, That’s the scope sir and can you correct my errors , Am willingly to learn and I am not calling anyone out , I am thinking of making more , why will I shade people abroad? I can’t feed them so what’s my business, I am only seeking first hand experience

Let me just talk about the bolded.

A lot of people abroad might view such as a 'one off' expense therefore are prepared to take a loan, put it on a credit card, use up life savings or even remortgage. Some self employed or business people might find a way to put it down as a business cost so that it becomes 'tax deductible'. I might go as far as saying that 90% of people living abroad will do the aforesaid or something similar after which they will take their time to pay off debts or replenish savings.

Then there are the lucky ones for whom N12m (about $30k) will be money that they can just take out of balance of a current account and it will not affect anything because thousands is going in there daily, weekly or monthly. Such people might even have a $50k to $100k authorised overdraft.

Then we have the fraud people......
50k overdraft? you’ve made it in life , 4 million loan in Nigeria is hard , So a bank will release a money for your bills and overdraft you because they know you will pay ? That’s a big man shit, it’s very easy , Pay the overdraft and overdraft it again , just make sure the bank don’t shut the account

In California, the minimum wage is $15,but not all employers honor the payment, especially if you are not yet a citizen. But other states minimum wages are even lower than California some even pay $8 to $10. But is easy to get a job in California compare to other state. If you want cheap accommodation, you can stay in the project or low income housing, but the security situation is not that good so i advice you don't. As for food,if you decide to go for junk foods, they are affordable compare to vegetables and as for women go for single moms, they are less likely to demand for Money and are looking for a serious relationship.

I make some calculations, 40 hours work in a week, 160 hours monthly x 15= 2400-1300 rent =1100$, Let say you pay bills , Phone, Water, Tax et all for 500$, You eat for 300 , You save 300$ monthly , Am i right or wrong in my calculations? If yes , Greet america for me, I am here , God bless Nigeria

Yes when you are a professional and you work for company like Microsoft, Tesla , Samsung or Apple.. specially as a software engineer
Or you into medicals and you work with Lincoln hospital in Newyork as a medical doctor then it's possible you make 15m and more

But if you hustling with blue collar job...it's really impossible...

You have lots of bills to pay which are very important for you to maintain your status as a law abiding resident...

In the states we have 3 categories of people

Wealthy/Rich
Comfortable
Poor

Don't be deceived, when you land Only God and your destiny/hardwork will choose one of that categories for you

Goodluck
very good insight, Thanks a lot

How many hours weekly work and what percentage go in tax , And I don’t even want a serious relationship, No free relationship anyway, Don’t even mention independent ladies or self employed, The more classy the more her problem, One way or the other fire must burn one person in the relationship, You might not spend on a rich lady directly but imagine you going to expensive concert and using hotel to pass the night , 500k is off in one occasion and that might happen twice in a months, 300k table for two and Golden tulip 200$ a night , You will eat and do those unnecessary stuff, Without concert, You will spend on one thing sha ni , I hardly save 15 million when I was dating couple with families I was drained below 10 mill in 2019, Covid 19 is a blessing to me because I saved and stop shit draining money, I promise myself unless I turn billionaire, No help from me to anyone, Honestly, I need to plan for my upcoming generation.

It’s very plausible to make this type of amount. But you’d need to starve yourself a lot to make this money in your savings
That starving won’t work, I can path ways with women and families but food, No way , let say I pay for a saner country -1 million , Can I make 21 million. honestly I won’t leave for anything below that , The difference between America and Nigeria is that one is saner than the other and let say I pay for the sane for a million naira , Is 21 million possible?

I am not arguing about rent being different in different states and cities, the thing is,if you are a Nigerian and you are hoping to secure a stable job in U.S,you have to move to place like Dallas, Huston, Saint Thomas, or the sate of California, all of which have an expensive rental and homeless problem. So since you are saying rent are less than 1k per month, please point out a city in U.S were rent is less than 1k in an area that is not a project.
As someone who don’t womanize , No family problem, How much can average worker save in those cities you mention , I eat a lot thou . Am trying to scale my decision,

See your mouth like 22 mil.

When you have no ability to immigrate like others you end up talking down on them.
Leave people that want to travel out to do so. If Nigeria is paying you that much, why are you so concerned about what the immigrant is earning?
Is it a dck measuring contest?
I even thought i will see a sensible thread.
You won’t understand what they mean by wanting too make more and more , Even Dangote is hoping for bigger opportunities, When you start making real money come and contribute, Btw I can go to USA if I want too , I just want a real life experience, And not blind journey, Please don’t mention me anymore

I am not surprised because I have a sibling in Texas.

Being able to save money is an individual thing.

Some people work multiple jobs to have reasonable savings.

BTW, you skipped the last paragraph. grin
The money is small sir as am also thinking about making more, why will you join low income earner making small 22 mill a year , Year not even month . Waiting for who will mention there exact savings

The first question you have to ask is, does the person have a legit permit to work in the US?

If you do, you will have a good job and saying they cannot save up to 5m yearly is an insult to them.

@MrGoood, you are already doing so well in your country. What's the essence of leaving a country that pays you well? You can go on vacation to those countries and return to your base.

Meanwhile, I would like to know the kinda business you do. As long as it's legit, I am game. wink
It’s not insult to them , It’s just a reality ,You might think it’s insult because you re surprised

Depends what you do in America. If you work for somebody or company, I don't care if you are a doctor, engineer or lawyer, or mere warehouse worker, your income will be limited by tax even if you live frugally because you have no control of your taxes and you will shed almost 50% in taxes if you make more across taxes (federal, state, property and estate). Lets say you make $150k, government collect almost $75k in taxes across. You are left with $75k, after your house, car, emergency and personal expenses, you re left with 10-20k in the bank every yr. You can live a comfortable life but you will never be wealthy!

Now, if you own your own business, not mom and pop kiosk, I mean real business over $500k in revenue, you will have more control of your taxes. Once you understand how America works, which most Nigerians or black immigrants never understand anyways...just living the American dream blindly( big house and nice cars) and fatally in debt, you will know that America rewards business owners and entrepreneurs. Most Asian immigrants understand this which is why they own their own business and don't work for people!

Any Nigerian you know that is very very wealthy in America, has his own big business. Don't ask me why. Go and read why and how the rich in America pay zero to no taxes...actually government doesn't want you to if you create job, invest or an entrepreneur!
So they save between 10 to 20k annually? Why will I step feet in that place if they make below what I make here

I am a businessman and the thing is I am in for money in any choice I make. I made around 22 million in savings last year. Though I cut family and girlfriends off my life to achieve that and am in Nigeria.

But seeing the doings of people outside The country, there was an America based lady that spent over 12 million naira on her mother's burial. For her to spend that much I believe she will have 20x of that amount.

At least for an upright thinking fellow, I feel like am making less so am thinking of relocating. Can I make over 22 million yearly in savings in USA, If no how much can I save? Talk from your personal experience pls, Let stop deceiving each other pls, How much did you save annually in USA? Please let be sincere.
