The only way to this SARS issues is that police should not recruit anyone without a degree or BTech, You must be married also, Your wife recommendation and that of 10 families will be needed as a proof you re not a woman beater, If you misbehave then your wife will be arrested because that means she lied to get you employed, If you can be patient with a woman, Under no condition can you ever be provoked, Thou this criteria’s don’t means they won’t misbehave but at least it won’t be so high to this extent. The problem is judiiary. if police arrests and charges someone to court based on frivolous reasons, such person will have to pay lawyer and satisfy bail condition. accused will prefer settlement with police than going to court. magistrates are also beneficiaries of police corruption. ideally, magistrates should ensure nobody is detained more than 48 hours in police cells wihour charging them to court. police will keep them for weeks even months without trials.

The case in court is for recall of okadas back to restricted roads in Lagos.

Also general arrest of all motorcycle types for money is what I'm talking about. If you want to push against these, u will need to speak to some riders, dispatchers about the criminal activities engaged in by the police to extort these operators.

I wish I could also but lack the resources to. The NPF is a total mess and display their unprofessional ways of discharging their duties. Imagine the average Nigerian police officers using their great gift in chasing and stopping okada just to collect the man's hard earned money and add to his own. They are rather in competition with the local govt touts as they also harrass riders for money.

However, I wish I could stop the NPF from confiscating motorcycles, as they have many security issues to deal with and they will stoop so low in wasting that time with okada business.

Pls include policing with bike impoundment not to impound any bike and demand money in exchange, as the riders are jobless and are looking for what they can live on, and the NPF will come frustrating them more.

If they must arrest a motorcycle, it should be charged to court if it is alleged the motorcyclist committed a crime. And if any police officer demands money in exchange for the release of the motorcycle, it should be regarded criminal against the officer and serious sanction must be awarded.

By this standard, the corrupt practice in holding up a bike and demandinh for money will be reduced.
