Truth is, I have seen that people don’t want to help you except for what they can get from you in return. For the past 3 months, I have moved from one place to another just to secure a place to lay my head. I feel so helpless and almost giving up and going back home without accomplishing my goal here in Lagos.

My name is Oyin (not real name). I came to the city for greener pastures because since I graduated from my OND course, I felt the only place to get a good placement for industrial training is Lagos cos of the course I studied in the poly. When I came, I contacted my distant cousin for accommodation. He agreed and allowed me to come stay with him.

On getting to my cousin’s place, I found out that he was even squatting with someone. That was the beginning of the problem. The friend that was squatting him, kept giving me problems, like he wanted to sleep with me. When he realized I was not going to allow me, he asked me to leave his place.

I had to go spend a few nights with some colleagues in the office where I am doing my IT, I stayed with male colleagues cos even the female colleagues could not help me cos they too are either living with their boyfriends or squatting with friends. The girls even advised me to get a boyfriend or lover that can let me stay with them cos that is what most people do. That staying in Lagos usually comes with the friends with benefits approach.

The guys that took me in, did not make it easy for me at all. When their girlfriends are coming, they will ask me to leave. I once slept on the corridor outside one night cos they did not want their girlfriend to know I was staying with them. They are living in one room. And to even get my privacy is not easy. I sometimes fear that they stare at me and may take advantage of me.

You can enter Europe or America illegally and get lost in the crowd. You can also earn relatively good money doing menial jobs. But the story is different in Asia; there are no menial jobs because they still have significant percentage of their population that are still living below poverty line. Those menial jobs are reserved for them. Agreed there are lots of factory jobs, but once again, they have enough unemployed locals that will fill up all the spaces and more will still be left. So, their governments have banned foreigners from doing factory jobs, or just any jobs at all they have enough locals who can do it.

Therefore, I can’t say this enough, only go to Asia if you’re going to teach or do business. By business, I mean going there to buy goods and returning to Nigeria before your visa expires.

For those going to teach, do not think you can just arrive with a tourist visa and get a job the next day. There are many Nigerians too who couldn’t get a teaching job and the visa they came with got expired. Then, you will also have to leave or become a fugitive. Even when you get a teaching job out of desperation, without having all the necessary certificates, you will be exploited terribly.

To succeed as a teacher in Vietnam , you will need to get certified at highly reputable institutes. Do their one-month training and have them get you a teaching job. They already have large network of schools who they can submit your applications to and get a quick response.

Good morning people. Last year I wanted to do a Kuwaiti work visa after my elder brother traveled to Kuwait. I was having some double minds about the country based on some things I've heard about Gulf countries. The traveling agent guy told me Canada was also accepting a lot of visas so i can still try out Canada.
I applied for a Canadian VV and also went for biometrics and capture around November last year and that was it. I haven't heard anything till now so I'm considering to apply for Kuwaiti work visa.
Any advice about Kuwait?

My girlfriend is clingy, and she likes chatting me 24/7, it's like she doesn't have other things to do than chat everyday, I've advised her to get friends, get close to people, go outdoors and get a hobby but she just brush it aside and continue with what's on her mind like I'm insignificant, all day she texts me, most of the text are about insignificant stuff like what her friend told her or what she's eating or an argument she had earlier on, it's not like I don't give her attention, I do, but she's seriously draining me at some point I might get sick of it, for those who would say ignoring is the solution, if she texts and I don't reply it becomes an issue that I'll spend days trying to resolve so I must reply, but this girl won't take a hint, she assumes chatting with her everyday is how to prove I love her, I have politely and indirectly told her many times but she just disregard it and continue, and I can't be online all day everyday chatting with her, i have other things to do.
sometimes I will reply chats until my battery die and she will still be texting, if I don't charge quickly and reply her next thing is calls, and if the calls go unanswered I have snubbed her and problem go start. I'm now cheating and I'm now chatting with someone else, that's why replying her is now hard, it's annoying honestly and it's choking me.

Women don't understand sacrifice.
Their father sacrificed for them, therefore they think a man should sacrifice to make them comfortable. If that man doesn't make them comfortable, their hypergamy will make them abandon him and look for a man who will.
They will watch a man bleed financially and they will not lift a finger to help him. They think it is a man's responsibility to suffer, sacrifice and even die for them. Don't sacrifice for a woman who brings you no value.

Women are allowed to work these days. Women earn so much money and compete with men for jobs, but they still want to depend on men for their financial needs. So what is the usefulness of allowing women to work when they still depend on men financially? Wouldn't it be better to stop women from working so more men can get jobs and the money to take care of women?

That's where things took a turn. Sometimes I play it like I'm struggling financially when I'm with my partner😁.

Honestly, some women have more money than guys and they know how to hold onto it. If you tell her what she wants to hear, you might just get a bit of what you're looking for.

Other times when she's billing me, I'll share my 'plans'. Like I'll say I just put money into Bitcoin (even if I didn't) or the forex market is uncertain. I don't come straight out and say I'm broke, but I give her the impression my money's always working for me. She ended up adjusting to it, pretty much had no choice😂
