Lexusgs430:Why all this confusion . ALL SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS inc photocopies of Vfs application form and nig pass (not original) are submitted in Sheffield . vfs ikeja will only accept tb test application form and passport at least as of August ... This applies if it is for settlement visa and d sponsor lives in UK. Mr @justwise it is not a change in law it is change in procedure, this was partly the reason for closing down the leKki office @lexusgs430 I rest my case re price of sending from naija as long as it is not virgin galactica . Shikena ! I don talk enough onto the next thingBut guys lets try not to confuse new applicants can someone cc @girlfio who is neutral summarise the process and lets get over this matter |
justwise:@justwise Abeg take am easy ! I know the success of this thread has been due to ur efforts and careful moderation . I was joking abt u deleting my post ! I was just teasing u ! Abeg! No bad belle here ! For all I know ur expertise is respected on this thread... You have been helpful but it's also good for newbies to hear from recent applicants ... By the way I don't know osewa I had to google his name . Dunno if u r paid for the moderation and even if u r relax and take a joke all this seriousness makes the process look daunting for newbies to the spousal visa application process I can't even remember what I posted . @lexusgs430 thanks for d support jare! You are right that things have changed. UK home office are trying to justify the ridiculous application cost .. So we need to give the them work to do and they have SLA for turnaround times as well.. Check their website the stats are there to verify and u can even see the data spreadsheet . Don't blame me.. I did my research to that extent ... All documents are now accepted by Sheffield home office . Vfs will only accept the original tb certificate and the Vfs application form and of coz ur passport .thanks @whales1212. I also questioned the people that r using £60-£80 to send the supporting docs to Sheffield . I wondered if they r using Amazon drone or personal jet. U can send it with Royal Mail guaranteed to be delivered by 1pm and u can track ur parcel in realtime up until it is received ... So up to u . Lastly don't forget the SAE FOR THE DOCUMENTS to be returned once the valuation is complete . I tire how may times I go post this thing!!! @justwise I reserve unreservedly if what i typed earlier offended you.. It was a tongue in cheek comment .. @IrryJones so u have received more advice than anyone so if ur case no get k leg it should be plain sailing and don't forget to come bk and share ur experience and give advice! And if ur case has bow leg am sure this thread and its army of counsellors are well equipped to straighten it !! All the best |
MrsAdebiyi:I posted lengthy response and it has disappeared @justwise na ur fault coz I disagreed with you |
justwise:@IrryJones .. You are lucky there are So many experts on this thread with very valid points ... Just thought I'd add my voice @Lexusgs430 is right. @justwise as the baba isale I hate to say the law has eluded you on this one |
LuckyViv:Hi LuckyViv- Tell your story so we can see who has the best experience and advice for you or failing that we can all thrash it out with @justwise . Based on the above, i would presume you are waiting for passport , if you can't get through to the etiebet house, i would strongly recommend you go there yourself with the receipt you received when you submitted your application. If it was submitted between 10-12 weeks without complication, i believe the passport will be ready to collect. The data on the HO suggested that 86% of applications were processed in September . Scroll to previous messages for the address thanks to @Bassy101113 and @whales1212 Goodluck and don't forget to come back and give back to this humble forum by sharing your timeline and experience ![]() |

thanks @Whales1212- thank you sir : Though you applied before me so i am not sure if mine will be ready as well o i pray so, do you mind letting us know when the visa was issued at HO sheffield ? |
Whales1212:@Whales1212 try either of this https://eforms.homeoffice.gov.uk/outreach/Progress_enquiry.ofml or https://ukvi-international.faq-help.com |
bassy10113:Thank you for being so selfless ![]() |
bassy10113:@bassy10113 : still waiting on ur reply ? Where did u collect ur passport ikeja Vfs or Abuja ? |
Whales1212: Whales1212:@whales1212 kindly keep me updated with ur passport collection or enquiries on Monday . With regards to supporting documents it should be returned to the UK address and possibly "signed for" at least that was how I received mine . And since you provided a UK sae return envelope it is unlikely Home office will send the supporting docs to Nigeria unfortunately they are not that rich. Best if u Ask ur partner if he (or she) has received it by Royal Mail special delivery ! You really shud have received ur documents by by now I applied after u and I have received mine . Alternatively email Sheffield to find out . Best if u use their email us form on the UKVI page rather than the email address... |
bassy10113:@bassy10113/ @girlfio : thanks for sharing ur experience people like you are the reason why I think nigerians are the best pls did u collect ur passport from Vfs ikkeja Abuja or teleperformance ? Pls can u give me the address in Lagos or Abuja ? |
Ikato3540:@ikato3540 : pls can u share ur application timeline I.e when did u apply , what were the supporting documents returned to ur husband , when was the visa issued . Also will be interested in where u r collecting the passport thanks |
Thank you all for the insight.. @girlflio thank you for the advise @lexusgs430 I really hope the previous refusal will not count against us as I have been to naija twice after that ... So there is more than enough evidence to support that the relationship is genuine , but thanks for pointing out the caveat ... By the way how did they notify you when the visa is granted? Do u simply assume it has been approved (or not) once the supporting documents have been received ? And will u be collecting the naija passport from VFS ikeja ( the incumbent ) or another office run by teleperformance the new visa sub contractors ... Does anyone have more information about the backlog at the HO and how this is being addressed ...Thanks in advance for the advice ... |
I think I need a manual for how this forum works . The beloved janitor and guru Mr just wise just told me off for posting on the wrong page . Sir I apologise ... Anyway this is my query.... I live in UK and recently got married to my husband in nig . We applied for settlement visa for him to come over since August 2014 and I haven't heard anything . All the supporting documents were complete and I am also a british citizen. The problem is we haven't heard anything from ILe nla (Ukba) it's been 10 weeks and am starting to get super worried . My husband was refused for visiting visa in 2012 when my mum invited him . They said he does not have enough ties to come back to naija... Has anyone been through the process lately or experiencing similar delays? The automatic email from Home office stated that 95% of applications are completed within 12 weeks ... Is this realistic? |
