Romance › Re: Is Divorce The Only Answer To A Failed Marriage? by MrsChima(f): 2:31pm On Dec 30, 2012
Emusan: Marriage is the process by which two people who love each other make their relationship public, official, and permanent.

In comparison; a marriage that about to collapse and that of an abandoned building that is so fragile to collapse, to me there's no difference. And to a Builder/Building Technicians, a building that its collapse is imminent can be restore back to is original position which can still withstand winds, heavy rain, and spend the normal life-span. by replacing some old parts with a new part.

Do you think couples can still do something in other to prevent divorce, if a marriage seems fragile and the collapse seems imminent?
Yes.
@odumchi and all,
I see you're advising her not to give up on Africa and to study or focus on Africa's beauty.
But truth be told, I don't know if it's because I am not African, but I feel the biggest critics of the "pro African" vision ARE AFRICANS. lol. An African would be the quickest to call someone Afro. centric and unreasonable if they try to get other black people/Africans to understand about African cultures and seeing Africa in a "macro" perspective.

It's really sad.
Now you see what I Have been saying...my hope is the carrib!!

Abagworo: You guys should not give up hope on Igbos, Nigerians, Africans, blacks and people of colour. It is our sweat that made the Whites and they deliberately relegated us to the bottom rung of development ladder. Our glorious past was wiped and our future compromised but we are steadfast and before the dawn of this century a lot would have been achieved. Africans were strong enough to survive. Ask yourselves where are the aborigines of Argentina? Where are the aborigines of USA? Where are the aborigines of Australia? Where are the aborigines of New Zealand? They exist but have almost been totally mixed or made mere tourist attraction for the now white country. I'm proud our fathers fought to survive. I'm proud equality of humans is gaining more grounds in my generation. I'm proud of being an Igbo-Nigerian-African-Black man.
There is nothing wrong with pride....the issue is ignorance and failure of colored folks.

You have a great vision...but it will never happen thou. I would bet on the prosperity of China than Africa or colored folks.

It doesn't matter who marry who more...it is about the families and pray that the family isn't ignorant like some of the lots here. My inlaws are a blessing!!

There are nice Nigerian families that would embrace you so as the person that chose you.
@ topic who cares? really?
this topic is irrelevant and dry.
Exactly.....they need to be more concern with those that can do for them. It's definitely not Africans.

SAFO: One thing I can say about Royal, his persistence and tenacity is second to none.

Like a fkkn pitbull with a death grip, my dude never gives up haha. grin

Funny thing is, the ignorance goes both ways. Some home based Nigerians buy into the ghetto, over privileged stereotypes while some black Americans think Africa as a whole is one country with monkeys and Lions roaming about while people still live in thatched roof huts.
Duh!! Where is my moneyhuh

Namzgurl: Just want to thank all of you for your responses, be them positive or negative. I am an intelligent women and I know right from wrong, just hurt and not wanting to let go. Also, I didn't come on hear to put Igbo men down, as someone said, that was never my intention. Just for the record, I did try to end this relationship 2 other times after 2008, but this man is very persistent and didn't take it was over, serious at all. When I avoided his calls after telling him it was over he once showed up on my shift at the hospital and asked to talk to me because this is where he makes rounds and everyone knows him. He has also waited outside my flat until I left for my shift. I am not trying to make him out as a stalker, but he doesn't take it's over serious. I wouldn't ever want to jeopardize his career by putting him in trouble and getting a restraining order. I know that this is not going to be easy but will keep u all posted. Igbo men are the best kiss
Good men regardless of origin r the best.

sweetcheecks: Why then are their adversaries not a motivation? Surviving slavery and still doing their best and having a black president in a once foreign country? Doing the best they can do in a system designed against them? Why put them down and label them slaves decades after their horrible ordeal? Tell me now why is their worst not seen in the same light as motivation?

Life, I have in abundance dear, thanls for suggesting though wink
If I was an African....I would never tell my descendents my people sold them to the traders for a mirror and some socks rocks to only get bleeped in return 400 years later.
