FamilyRe: Should Husbands Be Allowed Into The Labour Room? by MrsSiena1(f): 3:00pm On Oct 16, 2010
Yes husbands should be allowed into the labour room.

When the doctors told me and my husband that he cant enter into the theatre with me, I was like oh no I dont know you guys its only my husband I know so he must enter no matter what and he did. He gave me all the support I needed, he held my hand all thru and he was the first to hold our daughter which he brought straight to me.

I thought the sight of blood will get to him but it didnt he saw all the cuttings and all that. Brave man my husband.

@davidylan so you do all that? its good.

Wake up in the morning, have to give my little babe her bath first, her first set of teeth is out now but not ready for brushing lol, I bath her with Johnson's baby body wash with water filled with Johnson's baby oil with lavender. After that I cream her body with Oilatum not using Johnson's baby lotion yet because of baby rashes. I allow her watch me as I go thru my own beauty routine too.
Brush my teeth, Bath with Palmolive body wash I dont use bar soap
Cleanse my face with Clearasil face toner
Exofoliate once a while with Black Opal face mask
Use Olay moisturiser on my body but on my face I use Avon face cream
Use Adidas deodorant sometimes my husband steals it cos it smells really nice.
I love makeup so I don't leave home without it ranging from Avon to Clinique.

At night I do sit-ups and take a shower sometimes soak myself in the bath and pour some lavender oil and palmolive bath creme, use my adidas deodorant and cleanse my face again. I love the colour of my skin right now cos its glowing.

Oh yes I do use homemade recipes on my hair cos it works wonders.

Your Excellencies,

I got a BB message from a friend this morning and it touched me so deeply that I thought I should share it with you.Its a folktale that tells my story, and perhaps, even yours. Enjoy it.

An elderly Chinese woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which she carried across her neck. One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water.

At the end of the long walks from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full. For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water.

Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments, but the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do.

After two years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream.'I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house.'The old woman smiled, 'Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side? That's because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them.

''For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table. Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house."

Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding.

You've also just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them because EVERYONE has a good side and EVERY FLAW can still be useful. So please don't write anyone off, inspite of their obvious flaws. Most importantly, please don't give up on our nation, despite our obvious cracks and flaws.

SO, to everyone who is a cracked pot, like me, have a great day and let us remember to smell the flowers on our side of the path as we Deliver The Future!

Enjoy!!
CelebritiesX Factor Reject Gamu Ordered To Leave Uk by MrsSiena1(op): 1:46pm On Oct 06, 2010
Former X Factor hopeful Gamu Nhengu, who was booted out of the show despite being a huge hit with fans, is facing deportation.
The family of the 18-year-old singer has had its application to remain in the UK rejected.

They have been told to leave the country voluntarily or face being deported back to their native Zimbabwe.

Gamu came to Britain five years ago and was allowed to stay while her mother, Nokuthula Ngazana, completed her university studies but the visa has now run out.

A UK Border Agency spokesman said: "Ms Ngazana's application (for residency) did not meet all of the conditions for approval.

"Her family, who had applied as her dependants, were therefore also refused.

"Where people are found to have no right to remain in the UK we expect them to leave voluntarily."

Her mother, Nokutula Ngazana, however told Sky News she had had no official contact from Whitehall officials.

"I don't know anything about this. All I know is what I am being told by the media," she said.

Gamu remained at home with her family at Tillicoutry in Central Scotland but didn't respond to questions from reporters.

Asked if she would be performing on this weekend's X Factor live show as a 'wild card' entry, her mother replied: "No, I don't know anything about that."

Gamu was axed from X Factor when judge Cheryl Cole left her out of the final group of 12 contestants.

A Home Office spokesman said the decision to axe the student was the business of the show.

He could not say whether Cole had come to her conclusion after talks between immigration officials and programme bosses.

Since Gamu was kicked off the show, more than 200,000 people have signed up to a Facebook page called Gamu Should Have Got Through, protesting at the decision.

A small crowd of supporters have gathered outside Gamu's home.

One, Gillian Fyvie told Sky News: "We're here for Gamu.

"I felt disappointed she didn't get through in the competition.

"I don't want her to be deported because she's a great singer and she's been here for five years; she's a good mate and a good citizen."

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Premier League - Boy Joins Arsenal After Miracle Recovery by MrsSiena1(op): 9:43pm On Sep 23, 2010
A six-year-old has joined Arsenal despite nearly losing a leg to a rare bone disease.

, Fletcher Toll was left unable to walk when osteomyelitis paralysed his right leg when he was 17 months.

The disease left him with a 1cm hole in his hip, and doctors feared they might have to amputate his leg.

But he made an incredible recovery and has been snapped up by the Gunners, beating 40,000 rivals for a place at the Arsenal Soccer School.

He now trains once a week at the club's base in Spalding, Lincs, where coach Mark Angel told The Sun: "I see him having an excellent future in the professional game.

"His dribbling skills are excellent. His free kicks remind me of a young Beckham."

Fletcher's mother Lisa, from King's Lynn in Norfolk, said: "Doctors didn't think he'd ever be able to play football or walk."

Hmmmm some nairalanders and their drama. If someone posted a pictures of a couple who got married and are not nairaland members some of us would give bad comments like 'oh the wife is not even beautiful' oh the husband is not rich blah blah blah.
Now two nairalanders got married and posted it here some people still make bad comments about them. Why can't we just leave things the way they are. Its nobody's business if the bride slept with someone before she said I do the next day, neither is it anybody's business if the guy started a thread about how she was flirting on facebook or whatever the fact remains that they got married eventually. Even if they got married for the various reasons some people have said here its their choice not yours. Some people are just sadists who doesnt see good in anything at all.

We don't see good in other people, we always see the opposite. Some people even took pains in digging out the poster's former posts on NL. Which is quite sad and demeaning.

For those that posted bad comments about them and not yet married go get your own wife or husband, for those who are married and still made bad comments please go tend to your husband or kids for those who have live-in partners please pray that your partner pops the question.

Stop the hate

CrimeBurn's Victim Admits Staging Acid Attack by MrsSiena1(op): 8:47pm On Sep 17, 2010
A woman who won sympathy from around the world by claiming an attacker threw acid in her face has admitted inflicting the injuries on herself.

Bethany Storro told police a black woman with a ponytail came up to her and said "Hey, pretty girl, want something to drink?" then threw the burning liquid from a cup.

A surgeon who operated on her said the substance that had caused the wounds was as strong as hydrochloric or sulphuric acid.

Storro recounted details of the "attack" at a news conference, with her head wrapped in bandages and her parents by her side.

Her account quickly garnered sympathy outside her home town of Vancouver, a suburb of Portland, Oregon, US, and accounts were set up for her at local banks to receive donations from well-wishers.

She was booked for several media appearances, including Oprah, although the plan to appear on the famous chat show fell through.

However, as police investigated further, discrepancies in her story emerged, and she eventually confessed the whole thing was a hoax.

Detectives' suspicions were apparently raised by the splash pattern of the acid on her skin, which seemed more consistent with pouring or rubbing than being thrown.

In addition, although Storro said she was wearing sunglasses at the time of the the attack, burns appeared in areas that should have been protected by spectacles.

Vancouver police chief Clifford Cook said he did not know what had motivated Storro, but added the 28-year-old was "very remorseful".

"In many ways this got bigger than she expected," said another senior officer.

Detectives are working out how to return any money donated to Storro, who faces a charge of filing a false police report.

FamilyRe: How Would I Forgive My Extended Family Members? by MrsSiena1(f): 10:09am On Sep 16, 2010
How could people be so mean after rendering help to them makes me wonder. Take heart, you did nothing wrong by helping them out the only thing you did wrong was not educating your girls on sex education. If I were you I would have rendered such help from far that is give them money and not them living with me. Your daughters need help too. And yes you have to tell your husband cos you can't keep such guilt in your heart forever its left for your husband to take any decision about your extended family members and you have to stand with him on such decisions.

Some people can be so mean, the nephews who did this to your daughters could be confronted by you and your husband and if he still provides their needs, I believe he should stop.

Do take heart
