The 2019 edition of the Higher Institutions Football League (HiFL), ended in grand style with University of Calabar, Malabites defeating defending champions UAM Tillers (5-4) on penalties on Saturday, to emerge champions of the league’s second edition. It was sweet revenge for the Malabites, after a re-enactment of the 2018 finals, which
they lost to UAM Tillers.

On the 23rd of October 1963 , Super Eagles player and Nigeria forward , Rasheed Yekini was born . He represented the country in five major tournaments , including two world Cups .

On the 22 of June 1994 , Yekini scored Nigeria’s first ever goal at the World Cup in a 3-0 win against Bulgaria , his goal celebration became an iconic part of the USA 94 World Cup .
