Before the kick off the 18th Edition of the ITTF Africa Cup, the names on the lips of everyone as expected was Aruna Quadri , Omar Assar , Funke Oshonaike , Dina Meshref and a whole lots of star players , even the billboards was not spare with the faces of these known stars .

But what the fans didn’t envisage was that news stars will emerge, and interestingly they were debutants, who were previously unknown to the Lagos fans. The emergence of these stars points to a change of guard that will eclipse the face of Africa table tennis soon.

Though both couldn’t get to final, a remarkable impression was made.

In preparation for the Amputee Football Nation Cup taking place in Angola from the 30th of September to 14th November, the Nigeria Amputee Football Federation has released the names of players invited to camp.

The final Selection of players was made during the 2nd Edition of the Nigeria Amputee football championship at the National Stadium, Surulere. All invited players are expected to resume camp on the 29th of August, according to the Technical Director of the federation, Asaba Pius.

When it was announced last year that Access Bank Lagos City Marathon will be a fee paying Marathon from the fifth Edition, four stakeholders gave their opinion in an interview with Mudashiru Shittu of wildflowers.com.ng

Fatimo Bello has become National Women Singles Open Championship gold medalist after defeating Esther Oribamise 11 -7, 11-6, 11-8, 11-4.

Fatimo, seeded 13 at the Africa games trials defeated tournament favourite Cecilia Otu- Akpan 4-1 in one of the semifinals, in the second semifinal, Esther Oribamise struggled past 2018 National Sport Festival Gold medalist Ojomu Ajoke 4-3 in an evenly tensed encounter.

The 2020 Lagos City Marathon will take place on the 8th of February and organisers has announced that participants will need to pay a fee henceforth to participate at the bronze label race.

According to the official twitter handle of the Marathon, the registration portal is opened for participants that will register for the fifth edition.
