Considered a game of hand-eye coordination, can one imagine visually impaired persons playing table tennis? Even as cricket for the visually impaired is taking off in the country—with balls being rolled on the ground and not bounced—40 girls in Pune have been trained to play the sport with the help of former international players based in the city. The visually impaired girls, from Jagruti School in Alandi, are now aiming to play against sighted players in a competitive format next month.

Eight states from the 18th to 26th position led by Rivers state , make part of the states with one gold medal that comprises of Kogi , Imo , Kano , Yobe , Bauchi , Enugu , Jigawa and Sokoto , Only Borno in the 17th position had two gold medals .

An unbelievable feat was achieved at the fifth edition of the National Sports festival that ended today at the University of Ilorin , the Edo state Cricket team won all four gold medals available at the events. The cricket events, which started on Tuesday ended today, few hours before the closing ceremony .

Lagos Abimbola Disu became the first individual in the history of the National youth games to win five medals in gymnastics.

The Chairman of Lagos State Sports Commission, Dr Kweku Tandoh, has advised Lagos Athletes representing the state at the 5th National Youth games in Ilorin to be well behaved and disciplined.

With just 16 days to the commencement of the 2019 FIBA World Cup, D’Tigers Head Coach, Alex Nwora says picking the last 12 players from the 15 players left in camp will be the hardest job to do.

Nigeria’s Aruna Quadri became the first Africa Table Tennis player to reach the quarter-final of the Olympics.

He was seeded 27, in his first game, he defeated a Slovak player called Wang Yang , 4-1.

His first tough opponent was number five seed, Chuang Chih-Yuang in the second round

The match was full of drama as the Chinese missed his signature forehand attacks.

The match was the biggest upset of the tournament.

Aruna won without losing a single match, 4-0.
